The place is lovely and the little village itself is utterly delightful (though I think it would be quite hard to access without a car). Check-in was easy and parking was right next to the house so that was nice and simple. The room was spacious, clean and very welcoming. We were there around New Years, so not much was open, but even then just walking around the area was a lovely time. We recommend going to the izakaya called 居酒屋大臣, the food was great, especially the beef tataki ("beef swatter", on their menu). The host was kind and efficient, we communicated in Japanese but I understand she speaks English too, which is less usual in such a rural area. I would really love to visit again.

Extremely serene and gentle town. Really easy to go for morning walks to local temples and shrines in Japanese countryside. Hosts were very accommodating and welcoming when our wifi didn't work. They provided fresh fruit, bread, milk and juice for the stay which we are pleasantly surprised about.
