I really enjoyed my stay at Bel Jou. My room was always spotless, the self-service bar by the pool was so convenient for grabbing a refill before heading out, and the buffet had so many great options — breakfast was especially my favorite. The staff was incredibly accommodating and made the experience even better.

Keith was an amazing host as we only had one night after a much delayed flight. He set us up with an amazing driver who got us to the room and returned us to the airport the next morning. The view from our balcony and short morning walk to the beach through the beautiful garden on property were all fine touches to our experience.

The property is clean, roomy and comfortable. The hosts are extremely nice and accommodating and very responsive. The views are beautiful, we enjoyed watching the sunsets. The bathroom is big and modern and my son loved the shower lol. There is a Massy supermarket and a few other places to eat nearby. Also, the bus route to take a van/bus to Castries or Rodney Bay/Gros Islet is a short walk away. We loved all the beaches we visited

    If you want to get around to other islands and Gros Islet Street Party, make sure you negotiate the price for a round trip. Make SURE you emphasize round trip. Some taxi men are so money hungry and will give you a price of round trip, but then try and tell you they meant one way. DON'T let them do that. Get clear clarification for your round trip.

    Castries is a harsh city. Not violet.

    Castries is a harsh city. Not violet. But difficult to spend time in. It's not setup for tourists who are not in a resort or on a cruise. There are very few sit-down atmospheric restaurants and bars. It's a city for the locals and its a poor community. Everyone I met was very nice and friendly. They are wonderful people. But it's not what you might call 'charming'. The roads and traffic are a nightmare and a day here is enough. Rodney Bay is a much more vacation friendly place. I mostly enjoyed my stay here, but be prepared for confronting the results of colonial abuse and corruption. Frankly the locals are demonstrating a high degree of humility, love and forgiveness despite what our western ancestors have done to them, and are still doing. I learned something very important about western entitlement by staying here.

    Castries town centre is charming with a nice market and...

    Castries town centre is charming with a nice market and several excellent restaurants. People of St.Lucia are really friendly and always happy to help you out. There are plenty of shops stocking local and some international goods, especially the shops on-route to Rodney Bay. Choc beach near Castries was beautiful, clean & quiet with very calm sea waves. Excellent for swimming including children. We found the beach to be very quiet all day long with only a handful of people passing by, so ideal for sunbathing too. The Sunsets are magical.

    I enjoyed the Cacoa Chocolate Factory and the chocolate. The mud bath; the water falls the botanical gardens and the Piton mountains. It’s mountainous which makes for very beautiful views of the island.

    I enjoyed Castries.

    I enjoyed Castries. Getting around is an adventure - coming from a place where we drive on the other side of the road. It's not difficult to adjust. The people, in general, are mostly friendly. Except for restaurants, no one takes larger bills and the banks close early. The food was great everywhere we went and it's a beautiful island! I'll certainly vacation here again!

The Castries Market is a must-visit, brimming with vibrant colors and local flavors. The warmth and friendliness of the locals truly stand out, making you feel welcome from the moment you arrive. Exploring the city's cultural landmarks and enjoying its delicious cuisine added to our wonderful experience.     The view from the apartment is beautiful, you are able to see St.Lucia in its true form outside of a resort. Buses stop outside the apartment which makes it easy to travel around the island to visit Castries market, Rodney Bay and other surrounding areas. The rooms come with all of the amenities which is super useful throughout your stay, there is a bar next door and shop/bakery one minute up the road. Judah was really accommodating and ensured I was comfortable throughout my stay. He was happy to answer any questions or queries promptly!

    Fabulous location on the hillside overlooking Castries town and the sea. Wonderful views from the Verandah buffet and Rooftop bars and from the lower pool area. The room was spacious and well equipped and cleaned everyday. The staff were exceptional, all very friendly and helpful especially the waiting and bar staff. Free bus service to the town and beach was helpful and flexible. Buffet style food service was of the best quality we've seen anywhere. Great variety each day and lots of local style dishes to experience.

    This is a wonderful place with a wonderful host. Our flight was delayed and Deborah waited for us. The apartment has a beautiful garden and is only 5 minutes away by walking from the market and the centre of Castries. Deborah gave us many tips of places to go to in Castries and more generally in Saint Lucia. We really could not expect a better place.
