Rabat gets a poor showing in tourist guides and...

Rabat gets a poor showing in tourist guides and recommendations but I adore the place. I've been there five times now and will be going back again soon. It definitely off the main tourist trail and not overloaded with monuments but the atmosphere is very tranquil and friendly. By Moroccan standards it's clean and orderly with beautiful gardens and a great beach and shoreline with the Bouregreg separating it from its twin but much older sister town Sale with its traditional ambience and modest understated feel. Rabat is big enough to call itself a city (it is the capital after all) but friendly and homely enough to have the air of a provincial town. It is a safe place to be and prices are fixed and fair so there is no having to haggle or lohg unpleasant faces and scowls if you decide not to buy something. People are friendly and hospitable and it has some great places for home cooking!

Rabat is very clean and smell fresh every day. The people are humble, smart and respectful. I got my food from restaurants and supermarkets. Moving around was not difficult because of so many taxis and the tram train coupled with well lit streets at night.

Loved Rabat, would recommend no more that 3-4 days. People lovely and very helpful. Very good Capital city. If you like to have a alcoholic drink in the evening highly recommend 'UPSTAIRS' pub and food was absolutely delicious, we had there 2 nights. Local cafes were excellant.

    Great weather.

Great weather. Lots to see and do and a lot within walking distance of each other. The attractions I went to were free as well which is an added bonus. The buses and trams are an affordable way of getting around. All air conditioned the WiFi on them not the strongest but e sims easily obtainable at very affordable prices. Locals helpful even when language a barrier. As a lone woman traveling I felt safe.

We visited Challa in Rabat, which was beautiful.

We visited Challa in Rabat, which was beautiful. If you enjoy ancient ruins, it's a must visit. We strolled the waterfront and got lost (intentionally) in the Medina! Rabat is a lot more laid back than Marrakech, so it was a great start to our Moroccan adventure!

Rabat is a vibrant city . The Medina is so cultural .

Rabat is a vibrant city . The Medina is so cultural . The Moroccans are very friendly and welcoming . We found some amazing bars , but alcohol is not readily available , as it is here in UK . You can buy a coffee and cake well into midnight ! But with google maps , we found some traditional bars , with locals who made us very welcome. A beautiful city , quite relaxing. The beach is very busy at weekends, but buzzing ! You can rent a chair and umberella , recommended as temperature reached 39C !

It first time at city Rabat, not in Morocco, I visited alot city's and familys friends house. But in my experience, I feel like home was to me, house and security and responsibol.I love that energy, feeling like home, next day ,like hotel, another day like teenagers in roommate all at 1 city. I feel great and feeling relaxed, I only wish best and I will always go back at same city same place in future.

Excellent location. I could easily walk to the Medina and other central locations. Hotel is extremely clean and the staff is very welcoming and friendly. Room was a good size and also had a balcony. Breakfast had many options: from pastries and cakes, to fresh fruit, eggs, and meat. I would definitely stay again if I return to Rabat.
