A small and picturesque town with stunning mountain views. It’s located close to Durmitor National Park and the Black Lake, just a few minutes' drive away. Unfortunately, the service in restaurants and shops was often not very friendly toward tourists, which is something that could be improved. Žabljak is a great starting point to see all the beauties that National Park Durmitor has to offer. With its fantastic scenery, great woods, lakes, pastures and view points it exceeded all our expectations. Each picture that we took is like a postcard. I strongly recommend visiting this picturesque mountain. Top spots to visit - The Black lake; Tara river canyon; Savin kuk (cable car available). If you are interested into hiking or riding a bike (mountain or road) Zabljak is a great place. From there you can easily reach many peaks that Durmitor offers. The city provides everything you need (restaurants, bars, grocery shops) and yet it is peaceful in the night. Durmitor National Park is beautiful.
Durmitor National Park is beautiful. We did the hike up to Bokotov peak which is stunning but challenging if you’re not a hiker. Black Lake is beautiful for a dip in the water. We only had one full day which was not enough. Would have like to go down to the Tara river to swim there. The natural beauty of the mountains, lakes and canyons around Durmitor is really quite breathtaking! I'd definitely recommend taking a few hours to do the circular drive round Durmitor in and amongst any specific activities you'll be doing in the region. Zabljak is a resort town on the edge of the stunning Durmitor National park. It is a tourist location and there are lots of outdoor activities available. The surrounding scenery is stunning and particularly the river for the rafting. However it is quite a busy place so expect it to be so in the summer months. So peaceful with a lovely walk through the forest roads when we first arrived. The house had a comfortable living space with good cooking facilities. The shower was hot and the bad was comfortable. There was good enough internet connection to stream videos in front of a log fire in the evening. Accommodation was fab and even had games to entertain us when it rained. Car recommended for getting into Zabljak, but could be walked if you wanted a little trek. The apartment was a good size with everything that you would need for a short stay, and it is only a very short walk into the centre of Zabljak.
