Interesting place! Some beautiful sites around the main square. Worth staying close by to attractions as walking is the best way to get around, Traffic is a gridlocked nightmare. People are generally friendly and helpful. Try to get out to the countryside to see the natural beauty of Mongolia.

Ulaanbaatar is a great location (and one of the only options) to base your Mongolia starting point out of. Having a few nights in the city is all you need, but when traveling to Mongolia, your goal should be to get into the country and tour what makes Mongolia and it's nomadic culture and open landscape so unique. For example, in a 10 day trip to Mongolia, I would only spend 3 days in Ulaanbaatar and the rest with a guide out in the countryside.

It was noisy and very busy with traffic.
It was noisy and very busy with traffic. Footpaths are a walking hazard. Very few people spoke English and weren't very helpful.
I found a delightful vegan cafe that had modified traditional Mongolian food so I ate there a couple of times. The Gandan Monastery precinct was interesting.

Ulaanbaatar s a great base for exploring Mongolia.
Ulaanbaatar s a great base for exploring Mongolia. It’s a modern capital but with the added extra that it’s the centre of a nomadic country. The 1930s purge means that there is not a lot of old culture. So if you like temples and castles, go somewhere else. Sukkbataar Square is great to wander around in teh evenings. Families and young people having fun and socialising. The Chinggis Khan museum is excellent.

A city in progress day by day with mixture of old building...
A city in progress day by day with mixture of old building and modern buildings in harmonization to let you feel both history and development at once time. There are paintings on wall of building on street reflecting either traditional culture, modern art pr commercial advertisement, but all very nice. but traffic is little bit heavy at summit time. There are construction field on street in summer may block the way.
The temperature in summer (in June) is good for travel on day and at night for sleep.
Airport is new and highway is also new and convenient, People are friendly. The city is close to forest, grassland and some sand dunes, landscape are diverse, My only concern is the grassland under great pressure of overgrazing and risk to degradation.
It’s hard to say what was the best thing about this property. First, it was perfect for our big family and we all could share the nice spacious dining room for family dinners which we could cook together. Second, the hosts were amazing! They both were super helpful and friendly. They took us to the markets, they drove us to the sights, airports, everywhere! Third, the property is at the city center and it’s a 10 minutes walk from Sukhäbaatar square, it has supermarkets, markets, spas and everything else that you might need around it.
The owner Bobby is amazing. She is the best host ever. I’ve stayed more than 100 guest houses, but Bobby is the best. She is super kind and nice. I asked airport transportation, and her sister picked me up, and she was also very very nice.
and the guest house has very clean bathrooms, that’s what I really liked about this place.
Also it’s in the great location, very central of the city, nice cafe is next door, ATM and convenience store is just outside of the guest house. but quiet. it was just perfect.
Got picked up from airport and check in was smooth. Upon my request they allowed early check-in, else would have frozen into a statue.
The apartment is big with all amenities, nice and tidy.
Manager Boldtsetseg and Batsuren organised a tailor made tour for us to live in a Ger in country side and visit interesting places.
Good food at restaurant in level 1 and not pricey.
Mongolia is a must visit place and Eagle Town apartment is perfect place to stay.
Uka, his wife and his sweet daughter are the best hosts!! They will make you feel at home. I had the best experience with them!! They also organize tours all around Mongolia. If you want to experience Mongolia like a local, this is your place. Their house is clean and walking distance to the city center. They can speak pretty good English and offer a great support/help with anything you will need.
The room was spacious. The hotel is in a great location near a kids adventure zone, restaurants, very close to museums. One thing to remember is once you’re at the hotel you are close to anything you might need but during traffic time, it can take hours just to get across Ulaanbaatar to the hotel.
The hotel staff was always professional, very friendly and accommodating.
I loved the location to everything. I was able to find it with no problems and the owner stayed up early in the morning to meet me. I also loved how friendly the owner was and how helpful he was finding a sim card place. The owner also helped me find a place to exchange my money. I am from California and travelled to Mongolia by myself and I had the best time.
Great location. Room was also on a high floor with good view. Huge room with alot of space to keep luggage open while moving around the room. Breakfast was good too, I enjoyed it. Would've been better if the TV was a smart TV. Nonetheless, a great deal as I had booked early in advance and enjoyed a good rate for a 5 star hotel on my last night in Mongolia.
Very helpful and responsive staff. They have airport shuttle service and helped me to book a train ticket from UB to Ulan Ude. The location is great too. There’s a bust station in front of the guesthouse where you can take a bus to the train station and it’s 3’ walk to the famous monastery. Short walking distance to central, shopping malls. Good value.
Safe district. Nice personal and stuff. Nemka is cleaning all the time, never rest. Personal also helped me to schedule shuttle bus to the airport. The location is great, right in the city center, almost everything is in walking distance. If I am in ulaanbator one day, I will definitely choose this vision tours guest house.
Great location, safe and clean, with a full kitchen at the guests' disposal. Hosts are very welcoming, intelligent, ready to answer all your questions, and have flawless English. They also provide reliable taxi service to and from the airport on request and organize tours. I will definitely stay there again when I return!
I loved how friendly the owner was. They organised the pickup and dropoff to the airport for me. And everything was on time and the driver was super nice too. The room is big and clean, same goes for the bathroom. Everything is very nice, a bit loud tho, but that really depends on the people staying in the hostel.
Yesterday, I visited Nomado Boutique Hotel with my girlfriend, and my impression of it is very high. It goes without saying that it exceeded my expectations. I am very happy to have had the opportunity to visit such a wonderful place at least once in my life. You should also consider visiting.
I had a good stay, facilitates are nice and the common rooms are quite spacious. The staff is nice and very helpful , they helped me organise a trip to Terelj national park at a good price. Would definitely come here if I ever come back to Mongolia! And the location is great. Thanks
Exceptional value in UB. Everything was perfect and the host is friendly and helpful. We used the laundry service and the airport dropoff too. It's a short walk to Gandan monastery, and there are many karaoke, shops, and restaurants close by.
It is a nice Hostel in the city centre with very helpful and welcoming staff. They also organize the typical tours in Ulaanbaatar and Mongolia for decent prices. Very good communication via Whatsapp. Good WiFi.
Generally we liked the kitchen which was available but not usable that time because there was no electricity in the hotel.
Room was tiny but quite okay. Bathrooms were shared but clean and comfy.
