Fab views of the harbour, was on the top floor, you cannot get any better than these views. The staff were very friendly and relaxed, they had someone at reception late in the evening which gave me a sense of security. This hotel is in the best location in Valletta for views, lovely street. I used to stay at the British Hotel on the same road but that is closed. Breakfast was delicious, had a great selection - fully cooked English breakfast, tasty pastries and cannoli. Rooftop terrace is a lso a bonus. Double room view sea view was large with a high ceiling!

There was nothing I didn't like. Valletta is a stunningly elegant small city, with very impressive architecture, much to see culturally, friendly locals, and plenty of restaurants and bars. Because the island itself is so small, you really don't need a car - everywhere we wanted to get to (apart from Gozo) was easily accessible by their very efficient bus system, and taxis are not overly expensive. We took 2 separate days out to visit Mdina and Rabat - well worth it.
What really blew my mind were the amazing neolithic sites, which are very well presented and explained. There are a dozen more of these sites which have been excavated, dating from 4000 to 7000 years old, which makes Malta unique.

There is so much to see in Valletta, everywhere you walk...
There is so much to see in Valletta, everywhere you walk there are amazing buildings and so much history. We had a car and travelled outside the City and again there was so much architecture to admire. There is good public transport in Malta so a car isn't really necessary and the main part of Valletta is pedestrianised.
Lots of restaurants to choose from, but be aware that even if they are showing open on the internet they may have closed down.
Good range of food and drink at a wide range of prices. Mainly Italian inspired food with some local dishes, rabbit stew is a popular local dish.
Vegetarian options on most menu's and a few vegan but allergens often not shown on menu's.
It felt safe walking around at night and had a good atmosphere.
Check days places of interest are open, if you are particulalry keen to see somehing.

Fascinating city - catacombs, cathedrals & Caravaggio.
Fascinating city - catacombs, cathedrals & Caravaggio. We thought the food was great - try and get to Da Pippo for lunch and try the cocktails at Kamy- literally a work of art!
Plenty of gardens or piazzas to rest, soak in the atmosphere and take in the stunning views, easy boat trips across the harbour or to Gozo, Valletta offered so much more than we had expected.
I’d say “go now”. A lot of the old (17th century) houses are being renovated… one day it may become gentrified and a city simply for visitors…

Valletta is a big city... 2 days to explore at least.
Valletta is a big city... 2 days to explore at least.
Forget Gozo... It's over rated... Busy... And not what u think it's going to be (unless u like diving and swimming in sea etc)
3 cities (which is actually just one stop) over the bay by boat is worth doing... The city of senglea is stunning.. Back streets and cafes.
Dingli Cliffs... Take a cab 30 mins before sunset (on a nice clear day) take a bottle of prosecco and some snacks and just watch the sun go down...it's soo serene and calming...
Cabs and uber service excellent all over the country..
Altogether a good 4 or 5 day break...
Enjoy...

Tons to do and we probably only scratched the surface.
Tons to do and we probably only scratched the surface. Food is excellent and pretty reasonable compared to the UK. It feels a very safe place and extremely relaxed. I would certainly do a return trip. It's still quite British in many ways with old style telephone boxes, letter boxes and they drive on the same (correct!) side of the road as us. We didn't hire a car as you can walk to most places in the city or get ferries, Uber, Bolt etc. I think you can't hire a car over the age of 70 so best to check if that's important. Everyone speaks English.

Valletta one of the most improved cities in Europe.
Valletta one of the most improved cities in Europe. When I first visited many years ago it was dead and run down,. Now vibrant, well maintained and restored, it is a gem. Much of this related to EU membership as many restoration and infrastructure projects funded by EU. So much to see and do. For bars, craft beer buffs should visit Dom at 67 Kapitani, Old Bakery Street - see St Johns Cathedral, stroll in Upper Barrakka Gardens, Eat at the Kings own Band Club in Republic St for authentic delicious local food - or push the boat out a bit at Giannini overlooking Sliema - catch the ferry or local boat to the nearby three cities
Excellent location in the main residential walking area within Valletta. Plenty of restaurants, stores and things to do around the hotel. The room was large, spacious and comfortable. Appreciated getting 2 bottles of water each day. The staff were friendly, helpful and welcoming. The breakfast was delicious and offered good variety. I liked that I could change my choice each day as I was there for 4 nights. Really helpful with keeping my luggage for me after checkout as I had an evening flight. Would recommend!
Beautiful hotel in the heart of downtown Valletta. I was in town for a conference and it was a ~6 min walk to the conference center. But it was also ~5 minutes to lots of tourist sites, shops and restaurants. Great location.
Staff were very responsive when I used the Booking site to message them about a flight delay. Room was clean, pretty, and comfortable. I loved looking out the window onto the street. The free breakfast was easy and tasty.
Charming guest house in an old home… beautiful rooms, comfortable beds. My room had a gorgeous balcony looking over a very picturesque street. Great central location in Valletta. I did not eat at the restaurant associated with the hotel but it’s very cute. There are many displays throughout the hotel of traditional Maltese costume and (presumably) some items from the family who used to live here.
The location in Valetta was perfect for our first trip to Malta. Convenient to the sites we could walk to, and easy to call an E-Cab. Also, just around the corner and down 162 steps and a short walk to the nearby ferry. If Ronnie is there when you check in, it will be a great start to your stay. Truly an excellent representative of the hotel at the front desk.
It is in a very nice and quet place just some minutes to the city centre. Very comfortable place with all necessary things. The apartments is on three floors - 2 bedrooms and a living room with a strechout couch . There is an EC adapter everywhere which is very convenient.
The apartment has a beautiful view of the sea. It is very easy to get to the city centre, because the house is located on the main road of Valletta, Republic street. After cheking out, we could leave our luggage at a nearby hotel, so we could enjoy our last day fully.
This hotel is fantastic. The restaurant, the facilities, the location, the rooms. I would not stay anywhere else in Malta. The hotel staff were amazing. Friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, professional. The staff went way above to provide an amazing experience.
The location was great for staying within Valletta! The staff was phenomenal. The staff responded in a timely manner and helped with my last-minute needs (e.g., getting a taxi within 15 minutes). The hotel is an older building, but we enjoyed its charm.
The staff were very welcoming and helpful. The hotel was lovely, we had a large comfortable room. The location was brilliant. Five minutes walk to the city centre and all that Valetta offers and two minutes from the theatre. It was perfect for us.
Location excellent beside city centre , breakfast was lovely plenty on offer , hotel is spotless a beautiful building beautifully and sympathetically restored, the staff are superb cheerful helpful and professional , really enjoyed our stay
Perfect to explore the city as it is very close to the city centre. Beautiful view from the top as seen on the picture of the hotel. Classy facility. The selection for the breakfast could be bigger, but the egg benedict is superior.
The unit was clean, updated and well-equipped. The building had a lift and washing machine. It was in a convenient location in Valletta, easily accessible to the Malta bus system, restaurants, and other tourist spots.
Great location, a short walk into the city centre. It’s great to have access to swim in the sea from the hotel. The hotel is very clean although it’s very dated.
the place is centrally located in Valletta, lovely designed and close to the best touristic attractions.
Very comfortable beds, hotel far from noisy areas.
