Very clean, amazing atmosphere with the old style building. Stayed only one night - very close to the airport. Even gave you ear plugs in case the church bells tolls where annoying - which weren’t.

Luqa is a quaint, tranquil village very near the airport. There are regular bus services to Valetta, so it is easy to get around. I enjoyed the low volume of traffic and there were enough stores and street vendors to buy everything I needed.

There's a Lidl, the neighborhood has interesting architecture. I was there in December off season for a night and it was pretty empty and there were no shady people. Walked to the airport at 4 AM or so, completely empty streets.

I stayed in Gudja as a base to travel around the southern part of Malta for 11 days. It was perfect, Gudja is beautiful quiet town, it felt safe and was an excellent area to stay in, away from the hustle and bustle of the more touristy areas of Malta easy access by bus to beaches/ restaurants / boat trips in Marsakala, Marsaxlokk, Birzebugga, St Thomas Bay, Blue Grotto etc also regular buses to Valletta.

Central location with good bus service to airport and other areas. The area itself is quite residential but an easy bus ride away from Valletta, Birgu and other areas where attractions are. Quieter at night time but still has food options to buy yourself or to eat out. The church is astonishing.

We didn't get to see as much of the town as we wanted, since we only stayed 2 days and bused into Valletta and Mdina both days. But in Hal Saflieni we visited a pastry shop with absolutely delicious food, and a grocery store where an employee immediately struck up a conversation with us in Italian and was super friendly. I would have loved to explore longer!

Tarxien is a lovely, quiet, and highly authentic Maltese town. We were incredibly lucky to stay there during the local festa, which was an amazing, colorful, and lively experience for the whole family! The neighborhood feels very safe and traditional, away from the tourist crowds. It is also very conveniently located, making it easy and quick to travel to Valletta or the airport. We really enjoyed the local vibe!

We stayed in Qormi, Malta for 4 days and found it to be a great base for exploring the island. Qormi has a more authentic local atmosphere compared to the tourist areas, with traditional streets, bakeries, and friendly residents. It was easy to reach other parts of Malta by public transport while enjoying a quieter environment. Overall, I enjoyed my stay and would recommend Qormi to travelers looking for a genuine Maltese experience away from the crowds.

We only stayed the one night in this small village but thought it was very beautiful and quiet. Only thing to note is where we were in the old city center it did not appear that there were very many amenties within walking distance, especially later at night.
Conveniently close to the airport but far enough for all the noise and traffic of the capital city.
