We were in Utrecht for a wedding. The city was beautiful, the hotel was close to the Kasteel the Haar, the area is perfect for biking and running, but not much to do around there. Although this was a business trip and I didn’t have much time to explore, I still managed to enjoy Utrecht’s charm during peaceful evenings. Utrecht was a lovely city to visit! Highlights from my trip include the Domtoren (highly recommend you do the tour to climb up it if you are able to), DOMunder, a free walking tour, the Speelklok Museum and a canal tour. The city is very walkable. If you want to visit a city that has no lack of natural attractions like the canal or the botanical gardens, then Utrecht is a spot I can highly recommend. I stayed here for 8 days and honestly I did not want to return to my home country. My favourite spots were defiantly the canal and Botanical Gardens because I have a massive love for anything nature based and these were two spots that spoke out to me a lot. There was also an Astrological museum my friend took me too close to Utrecht Vaartsche Rijn which was also on my list of favourites but I have forgotten the name of the museum unfortunately. One of our meals out was at a lovely little Italian restaurant on the Utrecht Canal which served a very tasty Spaghetti Bolognese and the view made the food taste better.
