Breakfast was good. The staff should tell guests in advance if their room is on a floor not accessed by the elevator, as ours was. We are seniors and navigating the stairs with our luggage was difficult.

Gateway to the western fjords, Bergen is a picture-perfect postcard of Norway at its best. Colorful, wooden houses in UNESCO World Heritage-listed Bryggen contrast wonderfully with the lush greenery of the surrounding Seven Mountains.
For fantastic views of Norway’s 2nd largest city, hop on the cable car to Ulriken Mountain. Alternatively, hike or take the funicular railway up to Fløyen Mountain. With beaches sheltered from the North Sea by islands, Bergen is Norway’s busiest port and a popular starting point for fjord cruises and deep sea fishing.
The fish market in the narrow streets of the historic centre is a popular attraction, while just north is 12th-century St Mary’s Church. Around 1,000 years younger is Bergenhus, one of Norway’s best-preserved forts. Further north is Gamle Bergen, a reconstructed wooden village offering insight into the past.
Cobbled Strandgaten street and Lagunen Storsenter shopping center are just some shopping options, but items aren’t cheap. As you wander around the city look for work by Dolk, Norway’s best-known street artist. Other cultural attractions include many museums and a good music scene ranging from classic to indie.
Booking.com’s range of Bergen accommodation extends out towards Bergen Airport in Flesland, the departure point for many workers on the offshore oil and gas rigs.

Bergen is a beautiful city with a very relaxed atmosphere, plenty of restaurants and bars ( not cheap though ). It is in a stunning location with a good range of Fjord cruises available which are a must do. Because of its location you do need a bit of luck with the weather, I was very fortunate on my stay.

Floyen mountain on foot, aquarium, Nordnes winter swimming pool are great attractions. I ate in the apartment, there are plenty of shops opened from 7 am to 11 pm. I was without a car, but I bought a Bergen pass for free days, I used the public transport. But I was mainly walking. Beautiful district is near Johanneskirken, unfortunately the church was closed. In generally, all churches in Norway are opened only once per week. I was disappointed in museums expositions, it was a waste of time for me to visit. Edward Munk everywhere. Nobody can really see there, in Oslo or in Bergen, the works of the greatest Norwegian artist as Hans Hude, Adolph Tidemand, Thomas Fearnley and many others. It is the same, as to leave Norway without Edward Grieg! Political demonstrations in both cities held until the sunset, Free Palestine. Disturbing, has nothing to do with Norway really. Locals not taking part in it. Why not arrange public discussions on OWN issues?

Bergen is a great, relatively small city.
Bergen is a great, relatively small city. This was our second visit, and we enjoyed this visit even more than the first as we stayed longer and were able to get away the Vagen area and explore other parts of the City.
It's easy to get around without a car, and there are many good restaurants.
Cruise ship visitors tend to overwhelm the downtown area and Mt. Floyen. The atmosphere was much better (less crowded, more relaxing) without the cruise ships. No doubt the local merchants feel overwise.

Bergen is a beautiful city with plenty to do.
Bergen is a beautiful city with plenty to do. We stayed at the Radisson in Brygge and found this a central location, with cafes, restaurants, and food all around us on the wharf. We ate in Olivias on the wharf and then Siam Rahtree ( with one of the best massaman curries since I was in Thailand ) And also one of the most stunning sunsets i've ever seen. We went on walking tour with Sami from Twentytour and this was just the best introduction to this beautiful city. Got some books downstairs in Norli with great recommendations. Bergen, you are a beuat!

Very picturesque city at the gateway to the Fjords.
Very picturesque city at the gateway to the Fjords. Pleasant to walk to walk round with no shortage of charm against a stunning natural backdrop. Transport is easily accessible and there are lots of points of interest to absorb the days. It is, as with all Norway, on the expensive side (compared to the UK), with beers being significantly dearer, but if you have looked into the trip, this shouldn't be a surprise.

It's a nice town and a good gateway to explore some of the nearby Fjords and towns, but a week was too long for me. March/April is not the best time to go, since the weather is not good - it rains frequently. The best time to go is certainly in June (the only good month in the year according to locals :-))
In a month of travelling in Europe this was our favorite lodging. It is an apartment but is affiliated with the hotel across the street so you can get all the information you need about the town. The whole place is recently remodeled and gorgeous. It has keyless entry, what a luxury. It also has a full kitchen, a huge plus in bank-breaking Norway. The price was also very reasonable for what it was and as a bonus it has a gorgeous terrace overlooking Bergen. So lovely, we can’t wait to return.
Cheap as for Bergen but still rather pricey, like the whole Norway. My room was very small, half filled by the bed, with absolutely minimal furniture. But the outside kitchen was well equipped. WiFi working well. Bergen accessible by bus, but outside peak hours running once per hour, may require long wait especially when returning later during the day. Bus needs to be changed into tram at "Nestun terminal", no direct connection.
One of the best places I have ever been to is Norway.
It's a clean, nice apartment located in the center of Bergen. I highly recommend this place. The owner is very kind and helpful. He helped me find a parking spot and even sent me a number for the cheapest taxi. There wasn't any problem with booking at 11 PM. To be honest, there isn't a single thing I could be disappointed about.
10 out of 10!
Our choice of this hotel proved to be a wise one. The hotel locates in the center of the city and it is within walking distance to all attractions and destinations.
It is the only hotel during our stay in Norway that offers kettle in the room. Furthermore, the 24-hour availability of hot + cold water and coffee at the reception area added a delightful touch of convenience to our stay.
We booked the hotel in last minute. It turned out it was our best one during our stay in Norway. The location was right on the spot of Bergen center.
The staff, especially Christina, was very nice and friendly to offer useful info. The pub on the first floor opens to guests for free coffee or tea. The free breakfast was excellent. I would strongly recommend it.
The hotel was stunning, with many different amenities included. It was very accessible for walking around Bergen and visiting various sites and shops. The hotel was easy to get to by bus or taxi and fairly close to the airport for when we left. The breakfast was incredible with many different options to choose from and the staff was helpful with questions.
The hotel is really nice. Located a few mins walk from the place where the Airport train drops you. Walking up to the hotel allowed for a scenic view of Bergen at night. The check in process was seamless. The room was really nice and spacious. The breakfast had a lot of variety. The stay was short but really memorable. Really recommend it.
A boutique hotel beautifully situated on the waterfront south of Bergen centre. Modern, tasty and colourful design of rooms and public spaces. A combined reception, lounge and breakfast area with a welcoming feeling inviting guests to hang around. A small but perfectly usable fitness room. Good value for money.
The front desk staff was great. It was our first time in Bergen and we had a lot of questions. They offered us several suggestions and helpful tips. The location is perfect if you fly into Bergen. We took the train from the airport and the last stop on it's route is close to the hotel.
The location was perfect for us it was close to the airport, it was very comfortable and clean, the staff was very nice and helpful 😊
Best think: amazing selection for vegan breakfast! This is the main reason we always staying in Scandic Hotels!
Phantastic ! Wonderful room, huge luxury bathroom, a top mattress, beautiful deco. A very special boutique hotel in a historic building.
The staff comes with a smile and the location cannot be more central. Highly recommended.
This was the best hotel accommodation in the entirety of our trip to Norway. Best location by the harbor, awesome views, comfortable beds and large but cozy apartment with fully equipped kitchen.
Location was great, breakfast was the best we had in Norway, the staff were very nice, bathroom very good, the hotel itself is beautiful and the bar/breakfast area is really stunning.
Very cosy hotel, with a boutique feel about the rooms. the location is excellent within an easy stroll of central Bergen yet very quiet street and the staff were super friendly.
Beautiful boutique hotel with a Parisian feel in central Bergen. Breakfast was stunning and staff all very helpful. A glass of bubbly on our arrival was a wonderful touch.
Aesthetically beautiful, superb staff, service far beyond the norm for Norway, perfect location, comfy beds. This was our fourth time staying, and we love coming back.
Perfect hotel, very clean, very good value price for Norway, just to keep in mind that it's not in the center of the city but there is a tram few steps from the hotel
