Room was very comfortable and spacious, although the bathroom was 'tired' . Bed was excellent, but you need to remove the decorative red cushion it didn't smell very nice and looks old. Breakfast was good. The staff were fantastic. Everyone so helpful and friendly, including the waiting staff at our PACIFICA Event.

We were only there over night and did not have breakfast. We actually had the disabled suite and I would totally recommend this Motel for these purposes.

Palmerston North is not a place I'd generally choose to go. But I came for a show for the night at the Regent. Fantastic show. I was also pleasantly surprised by local cafe Joe's Garage. Excellent coffee and food. Walking distance everywhere, great Asian restaurants too.

The shopping is Fantastic especially Kmart and the Plaza, and also the OPP Shops. LOL I walked around a bit more this time and discovered some great shops which we don't have in Wanganui where I live. I mainly went for a Buddhist Retreat but extended my stay to do some great shopping. Favorite shops, Kmart, Salvation Army Shop, St Vinnies Opp shop and St John Opp shop. Food shops Ocggi Sushi at the Plaza mall, Noodles N Dumplings, McDonalds at the Plaza. I also shopped at Downtown Souvenirs and Gifts, Whitcoulls the Plaza, Aquisition's, Hello Banana, Inspire me and a few other shops. I had to use taxis because I have a mobility problem, but they were cheap because I used my mobility card for a great discount. I don't think I would avoid anything;

The motel was easy to find, very clean and had a very comfortable bed. The staff were very nice. It was very reasonably priced. It has limited kitchen facilities, but is fine to make yourself a simple breakfast.

Kmart open until midnight - crazy!.
Kmart open until midnight - crazy!. The park in the centre of city is beautiful and big. There is lots of completely different features including massive deck chairs that can sit an entire family or plenty of spaces for picnics. Short walking distance to every place you would want to go, free parking if you are willing to walk a couple of blocks to get to the malls/plaza. Food is AMAZING, especially the Korean restaurant we went to, and the bubble tea in plaza is yummy - they have fruit balls if you don't like tapioca like us. Plenty of shopping, only wish some of the stores stayed open a bit later, so much to do, so little time.

Palmerston North has pretty countryside surroundings and lovely wide streets but the town square is very tricky to navigate and gets busy but that's where the shops are mostly.
Very little to do there for apart from walks, gardens and cafes. That's all the brochures offered. We went op shopping which was really good. Too many fast food eateries but very few good restaurants. We went to the turkish cafe, really good.
We went up the Wind farm to view the turbines, no where to stop and take decent photos!! And everyone drives too fast up there.
No activities in town for indoor wet weather entertainment.
I've travelled all around NZ and found this town pretty boring in comparison.. We were there for a tournament, luckily we were at that venue mostly (Heads up to Hockey Manawatu). Only ate out once for dinner. ! So many missed opportunities!!

Check google maps, once you work out the way the main streets are laid out it is easy to navigate. Shopping experience along with ample restuarants. The countryside around Palmerston North is well worth a look as are nearby cities about 1 hour or so away like Napier or Wanganui.

The room was perfect and we enjoyed the homemade breakfast, like muesli, cookies, jam and marmelade.
Unfortunately I got an infection and the lady of the house rang around to find a surgery, but no luck and she told us to go to the ED at the hospital. We did so and I felt much better the next day. Thank you lady of the house.
We would have liked to stay at least another day, but we had booked already a hotel at our next destination.
Location is very close to The Regent of Broadway Palmerston North where we have to be.
Comfortable bed and pillows. A lazy chair is a good bonus too.
Clean utensils (tools for eating).
Bathroom- good water pressure (hot/cold) to have a shower and in the water sink, necessities and towels.
To flush the loo, which is good to have a good water pressure.
The location was just so close to town and the event we were going to. Parking was great.
The rooms were beautifully presented! We were greeted with lovely hospitality --even offering lovely fresh fruit and lollies.
Think we will always stay here whenever we visit Palmerston north again.
A great location in Fitzherbert Avenue in Palmerston North. Only a short walk to a beautiful park with a lovely cafe and animal rescue complex. We recommend the Esplanade Cafe located in a lovely old Villa and highly recommend a visit to the animal rescue complex, it's great!
The place was fine but the confusion was that I thought I was staying at the Distinction Hotel not the Coachman Motel. Having two places in the same town with the same name is confusing and after a long drive it was frustrating to find that I still had further to go.
First time Guest at the Copthorne Hotel. Good size room with Comfortable Bed and what a Great View of Palmerston North from the top floor. Friendly Reception Staff with on-site Parking was very handy. Good Location.
that it was cheaper to book on booking.com the motel receptionist want $40 more for the same room.
when we got there they did up grade the room as they didn’t have a room with the beds we had booked.
After staying in hotels it was great to have all the facilities of a home. We were only in PN for two days to visit family but this property suited our needs exactly.
A peaceful rural location but an easy drive into Palmerston North.
Very spacious house, and a well equipped kitchen.
Nice outdoor areas for dining outside.
