Friendly people, small enough things are rather laid back which is what we wanted. Good hiking trails on the island. Liked Cafe Travessa, Clube Naval, and Praia Formosa restaurants. Drive to village of Sao Laurenzo is very scenic.

The room, food, decor, location, atmosphere, all spot on! but what really made this place great was the staff, all so kind and so helpful, nothing was too much trouble and everything done with a smile. We are a charity and couldn't have achieved our mission on Santa Maria without the help of the amazing Sophia, an absolute credit to Charming Blue, thank you so much from all the team and crew at The Maiden Factor. I can't wait to come back!!
