Large clean room with retro HoJo vibe and central location. Big parking lot. Cotton sheets and towels. Quiet air/heat.
Stanton has a real down town. Not just for visitors but also for its residents to shop, dine and enjoy. So the merchants offer more than mementos and gift items. PLUS it has the only replica of Shakespeare's Black Friars Theathe at the American Shakespeare Center. That alone Stanton put its mark on the planet.

Did not give us the room we booked because they did not state that they had specific pet friendly rooms nor did they have us down as having a pet though i stated it in the reservation. Room was dusty and bathroom floor dirty. AC/heat unit noisy. And be warned there are freight train tracks about 20yards off the back od the hotel, so we had 2 trains go by during the early morning hours, 1:30am and around 3am that provided about 5 minutes of rumbling and shaking each. Not a recommended hotel for tired travelers

There are so many cute and wonderful stores. Could use more restaurants but plenty of coffee shops. Several museums and theatres (movies and live acting). I am especially interested in going back to the Shakespeare Theatre, and President Wilson's home/library.

The hotel rate is competitive enough against the competition. the breakfast is good enough bagels with Cream cheese, boiled eggs, omelette, cereals, muffins , etc we enjoyed walking at t e historic district. We wanted a weekend getaway with history, and small-town 'Hallmark' charm. Staunton was perfect in every way. Easily walkable, beautiful downtown area, rich in history & haunted tales, with many unique small businesses to support & explore. We visited 2 great parks, & ate at The Clocktower Restaurant, and ventured to numerous breweries and wine tasting rooms. Our only complaint was that there are not many restaurants that are open past 9 pm, so any kind of "nightlife," bar, or later dinner is not an option.
Its compared to a 5 start hotel! Affordable and is always cheaper priced than the other hotels and motels in this city of Stanuton Va!
It is family orientated. It even has a gated playground for the children and outside pool of fitness center a business center and a small cafeteria where they serve the free breakfast at.
The staff members are always willing to help !
Across the street is the most cheapest gas station you can get gas at.
I highly recommend this motel, because like I said it compared to five star hotel in one place.
I loved the location! It was right off the highway, which made it easy to get to nearby sights and downtown Staunton. I also liked how streamlined everything was. The lobby was very clean, well-kept, and had an impressive amount of seating, both indoors and out. The rooms had more seating than I anticipated, and I loved how many hooks there were to hang things up! Worked great for hanging up our dresses, wet pool things, and towels.
Didn't expect anything from this hotel. Just a hotel near our route. The hotel turned out to be cozy, modern, with good sound insulation (those who have stayed in roadside American hotels will understand me...). With an excellent comfortable bed in a spacious room. With good cosmetics in the bathroom. We did not expect this from a chain hotel and for such a price.
The rooms are huge. It is the second time we’re staying at a red roof inn, and both times we have had an amazing amount of space in a comfortable room. Nice outdoor area where people had barbecues. It felt more homey than most hotels.
great location, next to the golf course. Pet friendly, very important, good area to walk close to the hotel and then a great longer walk around the golf course. Restaurant was sit down service for breakfast but I didnt have time.
The hotel is on a main road so it is easy to find but there is no noise from the road once you are in the hotel. Ample parking. Friendly staff. A good hotel to stay at while visiting the area. I would stay again.
Property has a lot of character, provides a nice level of comfort, and the staff is great! A great value compared to corporate hotel stays and a lot more interesting. A lot of history here and in Staunton.
Beautiful hotel in a historic building, an easy walk to downtown. The coffee and snacks were a nice touch, check-in was easy and the staff were very responsive over the message system.
We came to VA to watch my daughter play ball. The Holiday Inn was nice, quiet, clean and the staff were very friendly. Recommend this hotel if you are looking for a place in Staunton.
This hotel with great history. Very nice room, comfortable and clean. Location is great---walking distance to downtown arear. The property of the hotel is a great place for relaxing.
this is no 5 star hotel, but is very good value for the money, its a lovely town with some brewries close by , we stayed there one night arv 19:00 and dprt 09:30am and it ok for us
The location of the hotel was perfect. It is located in down-town Staunton and within walking distance to many restaurants and shops and even next door to the theatre.
