We chose to stay at this hotel for the location being close to the Cruise terminal. It is conveniently located off the service road. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. We were located on the 1st floor close to the dining lounge area and pool! LOVED IT! Even after I left the hotel I had Amazon packages that were showing up after I had left Griselda C. the Manager worked diligently with me to ensure I received my packages. The entire staff was super friendly. Really enjoyed the breakfast (the sausage :-)) and hot, hot coffee. This will be my location for Galveston stays moving forward!

FAQs about hotels in Galveston
On average, it costs $159 per night to book a 3-star hotel in Galveston for tonight. You'll pay around $263 if you choose to stay in a 4-star hotel tonight, while a 5-star hotel in Galveston will cost around $193, on average (based on Booking.com prices).
Did not know until check out that I was charged
$15 per day for parking on the hotel property. This was not disclosed when the room was booked and the total charged was quoted. Not sure where you would park other than hotel parking lot. That was a rip off. Should have been included in room rate. Won’t book there again for that reason

I loved the atmosphere of it.
I loved the atmosphere of it. The main road is along the beach. The pier was really neat! I disliked have to pay 15 at every stop to park, just to run into a store to but souvenirs or to eat at a restaurant.

Everything was great.
Everything was great. I just didn’t like that you have to pay to park. But other than that everything was great. They had breakfast every morning for regular diet and if you didn’t want a lot of calories. There places to eat close. They also had a bar onsite. The best part was the beach was right across the street. When you go talk to Jessica she was the greatest help.

We love Galveston.
We love Galveston. We stayed down in the quiet area this time. It was so nice to have the beach to ourselves. We were able to walk to Jimmy's on the Pier. I highly recommend this restaurant for the food....try to red snapper. Oh so delicious. After you eat you can walk out on the pier and hang out.
We've eaten at The Spot. Sit outside to eat and drink and watch the waves roll in.
We also found the food at Float Pool and Patio Bar to be excellent and very affordable. We were there on a Thursday afternoon for the live music from 4-7 pm.
We enjoyed 23rd Street Station Piano Bar. The music was fun and the drinks were cheap. Great for our wallet.
Lots of fun things to do in Galveston.

If you're looking for cruise ship parking and are...
If you're looking for cruise ship parking and are considering using the Scottish Inns at 928 Ferry Rd, DON'T. Not only is the hotel a #^%# hole, your vehicle is not safe in their parking lot. My vehicle was vandalized while we were on our cruise. We parked where the Scottish Inn person told us to. If you have a problem, they won't call you back. Terrible service!!

Conveniently accessible but DIRTY beaches.
Conveniently accessible but DIRTY beaches. Tons of mosquitos after rain that were absolutely savage. Great people and architecture. Had it's ups and downs. Easy to get around town. Partner loved the pleasure pier rides.
Recent and tasteful restoration of a Victorian era house.
A walk round the block took in some delightful Galveston architecture.
Close enough to the beach and some good dining.
As visitors from overseas, we loved the Gumbo Diner for delicious, simple, Southern cooking.
Perfect for families with young kids.
Our 6 year old grandson really loved the custom-built bunk beds and the slide in the rear garden.
Spotlessly clean and with all the facilities one could wish for. .
We loved it. Thank you, Robin.
lockbox entry, good wifi, comfortable beds and couch. The pillows were good quality but VERY thick, making for a slightly difficult sleep (I acknowledge this may be personal preference). The house was clean and charming, although maybe too many doodahs for decoration that didn't add to the charms of the place.
Liked it a lot, although several minutes' drive from most activities in Galveston. Quiet neighbourhood and close to a nice beach.
I stayed at La Quinta & Suites in Galveston after camping several days at Galveston State Park so it was great to be able to sleep without the heat, noise and mosquitoes. The staff was generally friendly, the free breakfast was fine and the room was very comfortable. It was away from the beach but within a short walk. There were numerous restaurants close by so over all a relaxing stay and I would choose this hotel again.
This hotel had the cleanliness and the nice bedding I have come to expect from a Marriott property. Staff were polite and friendly. My primary reason for traveling to Galveston was for business, a speaking engagement. I took an extra day or two off in hopes of doing some birding, and I liked to this location on the west end of the island for that purpose.
Location was amazing! It is located right across from the beach. Staff was very friendly, bed was comfy, pool was great and blocked the wind, breakfast was tasty! The price I paid for my room was spectacular for a hotel of this caliber. I would recommend to anyone staying in Galveston - especially those who want a special experience but on a budget!
View of the Gulf of Mexico was beautiful. Boardwalk made beach easy to access. Our room was clean. The kitchen was nice and well appointed for cooking. We walked on the beach, swam in the clear ocean and in the beautiful pool. Enjoyed the fitness center. It was an easy drive into Galveston for a special dinner and touring the sites.
The facility is a semi luxury hotel. The biggest plus for us is the smell I know that’s odd but it was nice. We have been going to Galveston 2-3 times a year for a decade or more. Every hotel we have ever stayed at smells of old smoke and salt water. Not a good thing. This hotel was completely different.
This was a fabulous stay before our cruise out of Galveston all of the Hotels nearby had some bad reviews so we wanted to make sure our stay would be relaxed and comfortable before our cruise. The manor did a perfect job.
The location of the hotel was nice, right on the beach with easy access. The price was nice being we where there for the beach and would not be spending much time in the hotel except to shower and sleep.
All the Holiday Inn’s we have stayed in have been great and Galveston was no exception. The room was neat & tidy and clean. All of the staff are just wonderful and so friendly. Loved our stay here.
I thought the breakfast was good, I was impressed with the hotel and the value for what they call a 2-star hotel. Everything was very clean in the room, yes it was older, but met all expectations.
The hotel is located close to the Moody gardens and Schlitterbahn Galveston. It is also just across the road form the beach and not as crowded. Great hotel to spend a vacation with the family.
The staff was friendly, my room was clean and it was a quiet and convenient place to stay on the island. I love that it is an older hotel, but updated to have a comfortable stay,
I have stayed in this hotel when it was LaQuinta for 20+ years. This time I kinda expected a little more? I don't know why? It is convenient and I know my way around the pool
Excellent hotel, depending on the room its possible to have a seaview, large, clean, decent wifi and shower. Staff very nice, its a good choice for Galveston!
