Ever since a problem was encountered on Apollo 13, Houston has been an international household name. The 4th largest US city, it is home to NASA’s Johnson Space Center where Mission Control is located. Of course, this is not its only claim to fame. This is Texas after all, where everything is big.
Houston’s Reliant Astrodome was the world’s first indoor sports stadium under a domed roof, and the Galleria is the largest mall in Texas. The city’s Livestock Show and Rodeo is the largest in the world, and the JP Morgan Chase Tower is the planet’s tallest 5-sided building. The list goes on.
Amid the skyscrapers of the thriving CBD is the Toyota Center, home of the city’s NBA and AHL teams. The theatre district is also in the downtown area, whereas the museum district is concentrated to the north-east of Hermann Park, home of a boating lake, nature reserve and miniature railway. Also here is Houston Zoo, and just west is Rice University, one of several in the city.
The bohemian Rice Village is popular with students, as are the city’s historic pubs and leafy parks. Houston also has no shortage of restaurants or accommodation options. Those on Booking.com include motels, apartments and hotels near George Bush Airport.

Try to get the Houston City Pass if you plan to stay at least 3 days. It´s a lot cheaper. We fully recommend you go to an Astros game in the late afternoon so you have time in the morning to go to the Galleria. Visit the Museum of Natural Science, Kemah Boardwalk, Houston Space Center—and KPOT Korean BBQ & Hot Pot near NASA for dine-in.

I have a horrible experience at the airport.
I have a horrible experience at the airport. Arrived at 10pm and had to wait 12 hours for the luggage, and there was no place to eat. I have reserved a prepaid a hotel and when arrived to the property it was fully booked and can't check-in and lost the reservation money. In addition that have to take a taxi from the airport to the property that cost $75 for a 8 minutes drive.

I didn’t realize how many hospitals there were in Houston.
I didn’t realize how many hospitals there were in Houston. And NASA, too. The hospitals there and NASA makes it a world class city in my books. The roads that had 12 lanes were pretty intimidating. I was glad I was not the driver. The placement of signs was rather confusing also. We were in Houston to see the Rolling Stones concert and have seen them in Houston previously. Probably Houston is the destination for many other top rated shows.

The only acceptable item was its location although a but misleading. The energy corridor isn't so close..
The hotel facilities a real nightmare, not worth one single night; stinky worn out carpets, hot humid hals ( saving energy..), third rate toiletries, shaky toilet, no cable ( saving money again), noisy antiquated air conditioning ( third world type..), lousy breakfast ( saving money too..) .it is one of those franchises run by family, not what a real honest Quinta Inn is supposed to be.

Loved the Zoo, it was a great experience and well ran, clean and plenty of rest areas. Loved the cable car which was really cheap, $1.35 to ride the whole length of it. Used this to get to the Zoo, also to get the park, and for the NRG stadium to see the Rolling Stones. Wasn't sure about using it after reading some of the reviews of problems with the homelessness riding the cars all day and drugs being an issue, however whilst there was evidence of this on some of the cars, there was no issue or problems, and I felt safe at all times. Spent a few evenings in Moonshiners, great bar, great cocktails and food.

Houston is a vibrant city with lively bars and restaurants.
Houston is a vibrant city with lively bars and restaurants. Make sure you visit Congress Bridge at dusk to see the famous bat, on your way to the bridge call into Cooper's BQQ situated between 2nd and 3rd Street on Congress, you won't regret it! Also visit the Congress building to admire the architecture.
I would also recommend venturing out of the city by walking down 6th Street under the I35 and you will discover a very nice area with many new bars, restaurants and micro breweries. I would recommend Zilker (Great hot chicken Spicy Boys Food Truck) & Lazarus Micro Breweries. Then walk up past the cemetery to Saddle Up Brewery & BBQ Pit.
I liked the cleanliness and friendliness of the staff! And the location! It was also close to the concert we attended and we were able to just walk there.
Also there's a small bar with food inside the hotel for food and drinks. Free breakfast was delicious and had a big variety of items to choose from. Comfy rooms and beds with a view of downtown Houston. Pool was nice too! Overall a great place to stay.
Location to downtown Houston was excellent across the road from Toyota Center and 5-10 minute walk to convention center and minute maid park ( we went to our first ever baseball game and it was so convenient ) , room size is more than adequate for 3 adults . Breakfast area never felt too busy and the evening reception was the best of the three Embassy suites we stayed in on this trip .
Proximity to airport and also not far from other Houston locations (especially if you have business in more than downtown).
Shuttle service was great. Picked us up at the airport at almost 2am! Took us to and from dinner one night.
Friendly service from all staff.
Lounge (bar) onsite opens at 4pm.
Very good food and service onsite with reasonable pricing.
Comfortable, modern hotel in Houston's Uptown across from the Galleria. Good location if you want to be in Uptown. Easy access off Loop 610. Convenient parking garage. Woman at front desk gave us complementary parking ($25/night) since I remarked the pet fee was so high ($75/night). Area to walk dog in back of hotel with complementary poop bags.
I wanted a reasonably economic option and Aloft appeared to be a reasonable alternative to Hilton Garden Inn and the like. I always stay in the Galleria area and this location is fine. The room was clean and arranged in a modern way. The best thing was wifi with no password required - this ensures no need to login many times, which can be annoying.
It is the perfect location for an overnight layover in Houston! Located right in the airport, it is accessible either via an underground walkway or a mini subway. The staff was very nice and helpful.
From there, it is about a 25 minutes cab ride to downtown Houston where you can go a have dinner and drinks before returning and refresh for the night
Very convenient in terms of downtown especially for music concerts (I went for Kid Cudi at the Toyota Center) and any events happening during the weekend. Most places are within walking distance of hotel with at most being 25-30 minutes excluding the aquarium, zoo, and galleria mall (best to drive or Lyft/Uber to those if not driving)
A basic clean double bed room in a hotel near the Houston International Airport. Room and hotel was Clean and comfortable. No fridge in the room, heating and air con worked well. Pity that there is no restaurant service at the hotel and even the bar was closed when needed to buy a bottle of water.
Great location. Easy and quick check in. Great rate in downtown Houston. This really is a great find for a solo traveller. My room was small, but had all the necessities I needed. Perfect when your visit is about the city and not about a spa retreat. It is a nice, clean, and safe hotel.
Excellent hotel, the receptionists are so nice and helpful. Breakfast modest but very good, there was always variety of food. If you look for a clean place with decent food in the area of Texas Medical Centre don't hesitate. Hotel offers free shuttle to clincis as well
It is located next to one of the main freeways in the west of Houston, which was the side of my entrance to the city. So, I could easily access the hotel anytime. I rented a car, so transferring from the hotel to downtown Houston was pretty easy.
This hotel was conveniently located to Houston International airport with a free shuttle. It was clean and comfortable with a free breakfast which was great when travelling to other destinations. The staff were absolutly amazing too.
This place was perfect for us! Simple quite fantastic location and no bother at all. I highly recommend if you just want an old-fashioned lovely place to stay in Houston downtown..
The property was in a nice location about a block away from The Galleria Mall and about 5 to 6 miles from downtown and the museum district. The staff was nice and helpful.
The room was larger than I expected, and was very comfortable, and despite being in the middle of Downtown Houston, was quiet - with the exception of the trams :)
The hotel has access to the Galleria directly which was very convenient. The room was quiet and the bed was comfortable. Would definitely stay here again.
