I loved Denver.
I loved Denver. So much to see and do and a great gateway to Colorado. It’s arty, foodie, full of breweries and the different districts have their own identity. Interesting history and great climate though I found myself struggling with the altitude that meant I got tired quickly and did not have as much energy as usual. If you are not used to it it’s important to pace yourself and drink plenty of water. I used the RTD a lot, buses and trains and managed ok although the bus stops are hard to spot. Plenty of good bars and restaurants, I looked out for independent delis like Rye Society in RiNo which serves fab coffee and deli sandwiches (I had the Ruben on Rye - amazing) and makes their own pickles. Flower Child in Cherry Creek also great and good value - very special salads. Plenty of steak and Mexican places - it’s very easy to find good food. My favourite dish,the Ajo Blanco at Ultreia (chilled garlic and almond soup). Definitely on my ‘to visit again’ list. The Botanical Gardens are beautiful and the Art Museum superb - would love more time in both.susanUnited Kingdom - 8.0Scored 8.0

We travelled to Wyoming and South Dakota before coming to Denver and could probably have spent a couple of extra days on that part of the trip. However Denver itself was a lovely, clean and friendly city and is a very good base for places like Rocky Mountain National Park. Because of the time of year some roads and attractions not yet open so we didn’t get to see as much as we would have liked but we would definitely consider coming back.

Pleasantly surprised there was usable, useful public transport. I loved all the artsy stuff and the Botanical Gardens. A clean, walkable city. Great weather, I really enjoyed my stay in Denver. Good for people who like Craft beers too.

RTD trains and buses are amazing and very affordable on a day ticket, for someone without own transport. Really great to be able to get to town from the airport for only $10. The 16th Street free mall ride also helps a lot. I found Uber very expensive, which is a pity. It was quite a mission to get to the Denver Premium Outlets without own transport. Had the opportunity to attend a game at Coors field - nice experience. I booked some day trips with a local operator that got cancelled over the weekend - pity.Esther - 2.0Scored 2.0

The Denver airport is the size of a city. It’s very difficult to get from one place to another. Not traveler friendly There are not enough signs to direct you to check in , security offers two places to choose from . But is not on your boarding ticket South west flight arrived too late for my connection. They booked me the next morning. They refused to let me check a 50lb bag refused 3 times to help me find a hotel? I was left on my own. 3 agents said they did not Know of hotels. BUT later discovered there’s a Westin at the airport I stayed there.i am 75. And Southwest left me to sleep in a chair at their counter with my bag There were No electric in sight to charge my phone.

It was cozy in the fact it was big enough to move around and feel at home and not too big to get overwhelmed. Met the owners by chance and they were a lovely couple. WiFi was fast and you had all the amenities of a hotel room. The location was close to downtown Denver. In the area there were nice restaurants and about 1-2 miles from a WalMart. The neighborhood was quiet and we didn’t have any interruptions to our sleep.

They let me store my bags there for half a day after I checked out. They have a shuttle that picks you up from the light-rail station. So you can take the train from the airport to the station nearest the hotel, and the shuttle will take you to the hotel.
