It's not typical for an old Danang city, but it's worth a short visit. There are too many tourists and scalpers, beggars asking for money, and locals trying to get every bit of money from you. The market restaurants are poor quality and overpriced. Avoid VIncom Mall and never accept an offer for a taxi from anyone who approaches you! Beware of fake taxi meter applications used by some drivers. Use Grab!

One of the most eclectic spots in Vietnam, with a lot of history and atmosphere, and not overdeveloped (yet). The main commercial/tourist area is an architectural treasure, and ppears to have so far resisted the destructive elements of modern tourism. It is easy to get around on foot, wih a number of interesting historical clan houses and temples dating from the pre-colonial era.
No worries as regards eating and drinking...Hoi An has many, many restaurants and bars catering for a wide variety of tastes and expectations. The central market is well worth a visit and look around.
Hoi An is very well situated, close to the tourist/coastal city of Danang and not far from the former imperial capital of Hue. The archaeological Champa site of My Son is only ~1 hour away and a must see for anyone travelling in the area.

Beautiful location with lots to do. Great tourist locations, Hoi an Memories Show is a must, coconut boats, river cruise are really good. We had food at both our hotel (Little Gem) and in local restaurants were we found the food excellent and great value for money. If you are doing Da Nang and Hoi An do da Nang first before you travel to the tranquillity of this beautiful location.

The city is gorgeous, perfect combination of beach experience, night market street, great food and friendly people. We had also great experience in using on of the famous Taylor shops with great results.
We also watch local performance like Vietnamese bamboo circus attraction. My kids loved it.
Quiet and ideal location in Old Town close to the night market, waterfront attractions and an endless choice of restaurants nearby. The rooms are a good size with their own bathroom, cleaned daily. Breakfast is good, choices including omelette, Banh Mi, fruit and more which set me up for a good day out. We loved the Vietnamese cooking class and village tour booked through the homestay. Our hosts were able to suggest some local attractions and restaurants and made sure our pre-booked transport was timely. A lovely family atmosphere.
Beautiful setting with accommodation with a view of the mangroves. The staff were wonderful and always had a smile on their face, were extremely polite and nothing was too much trouble for them. Our room was large, clean, beautifully decorated and well equipped and the bed was extremely comfortable. Here you can use free bicycles to move into the old town. We will definitely stay at Crony Villa when we come back to Vietnam. We are frequent travelers and this is definitely the best service we have ever received in a hotel.
Well kept, family-run hotel in a quiet location between the old town (10-15 mins walk) and the beach (10 -15 mins bike ride). Breakfast options were varied and delicious - you decide what you want the night before. Bikes and beach towels are readily available to borrow if you want to explore the beaches. The Moon Villa also serves as a tailoring shop and my husband got shirts and pants made in 24hrs. The owners are wonderful and helped with booking a cooking tour and transport to the airport. I would definitely recommend.
Best stay ever of my trip in Vietnam. We were upgraded to a Suite, the room was nice and spacious. Hotel was in great location in the town of Hoi An with easy access to ancient town. Staff went extra miles to assist us during the stay. They helped us to get tickets for Memories of Hoi An show (which was so worthy to watch). Make sure you borrow a bike from the hotel then go for a ride in the old town, it's the best way to enjoy the town then book massage to relax afterwards. Will definitely recommend this accommodation
Amazing hotel with everything you could need including 2 swimming pools.
Very clean and very big rooms.
Staff are extremely nice and attentive.
The highlight was the free breakfast which includes everything from pho to fried rice to pancakes to fresh fruits and rivals most western lunch and dinner buffets you would pay good money for.
The hotel also offers a free shuttle to the old town and the nearby beach which was very convenient considering it’s not always easy to get a Grab in old town.
Amazing boutique hotel, stayed in one of the villas and would love to come back to enjoy the pool/beach! Super friendly team. Great base away from the hustle and hustle of Old Town Hoi An. We did have to get a grab/taxi to get around (you could use bikes or scooter) so something to keep in mind depending on what one is looking for (something to consider for frequent visits to a tailor for example). Breakfast was great and varied , offering both Vietnamese and western options
Wonderful hotel away from the hustle and bustle, not to mention noise, of old town. The hotel provided an incredible breakfast buffet offering local vietnamese cuisine along with more western fare. The hotel has a rooftop pool and a smaller pool behind the villas that offer a welcome break. The staff are eager to answer any questions and help with any issues. The hotel has a complimentary pool of bikes for use and also scooters for rent if you want to travel further afield.
The warmest and most welcoming hosts we've had so far in Vietnam. You might get a bit surprised having to open your shoes at the entry but you'll soon understand why - the whole house including the room is extremely clean. Exactly as advertised in the photos with a nice rain shower.
15 min walk from the old town - quite convenient to walk. We rented a scooter from the homestay itself to get to the beach which is a bit too far to walk but by scooter it's just perfect.
Big and modern rooms, amazing pool, convenient position (short distance by bike from the Old Town and the beach and free bike rental), delicious breakfast with fresh food, possibility to book tours and drivers to visit the main attractions in the area. The best homestay we stayed in Vietnam, we really felt like we were at home thanks to the wonderful and very kind family running the structure. A very big thanks to them again for everything!
the whole experience was fab. I stayed with my family- 3 yr old, 6 yr old and my husband. The hotel is close to old town and we thoroughly used bicycles to commute to old town and other destinations such as pottery village, silk village without any problem.
The breakfast was great. Pool was good enough, and my kids enjoyed a lot there. We brought our own floaty for 3 yr old. Room was clean, bed were comfortable and AC worked so well.
Location was a bit out of town but taxis are very cheap. Quiet and away from the hustle and bustle. Not far from beach or Hoi An Old Town (both about 10 mins in taxi). Lots of shops and restaurants nearby. Bathroom had lovely decor. Grounds of hotel are stunning and has a nice pool. The staff were fantastic and the laundry service was brilliant. Breakfast was made to order and very tasty/quick service.
Hoi An Palmy Villa is one of those little gems. The facilities are great, nice large rooms, very friendly and helpful owners (family) and staff who do anything to please. Nice, big pool. In a great location near Ba Le market so easy going to either Old Town, the beaches or the rice fields. For long staying guests they even provide a free lunch one day for you with traditional Vietnamese meals.
The owner of the homestay and her parents are so welcoming and helpful, and their German shepherd is such a gentle giant. My room (the cheapest option) comes with a kitchen area which surprised me. This best part about this homestay is that it is a one-minute walk from Cosy corner, a lovely cafe, and An Bang beach village restaurant (they serve delicious Vietnamese food and Indian food).
Zen Hoian Villa is a wonderful family run hotel just outside of the hustle and bustle of the Old Town. The rooms are clean and spacious, bikes are available to get into town, and the hotel offers laundry service. The pool is a great refreshing dip on a hot day. Tran and her family are welcoming and make you feel like you are at home. Great place for a family to stay!
From arrival until departure, we were treated so well by hotel staff. They were so friendly and attentive. Our interconnected family room was even better appointed than the photos indicated. We booked a spa treatment which was excellent. We used the shuttle service to and from the beach and old town which was very reliable. I’d highly recommend this hotel.
The Son is a fantastic boutique hotel on the edge of the old town. The rooms have a lovely and unique character and there is a quiet charm about the place. The staff are all excellent, especially the Happy Hour bar man. The real highlight is the breakfast where there are Vietnamese and more western choices on offer. The coffee is simply amazing!
One of the best hotels on our 4 week trip to Vietnam.
Room: Very clean and spacious
Breakfast: Perfect, Buffet with a good good selection
Location: Perfect. In the old town but still quiet.
Staff: Very friendly
Other: A small but nice pool in the backyard, free bikes
Everything was faultless - new modern rooms and amenities, friendly staff, great breakfast, good location both to the beach and the Old Town with free bicycles to get there. Anne and Trang run the place like a hotel, but treat the guests like bed and breakfast hosts!
+ Spacious room
+ Awesome friendly staff
+ Amazing breakfast
+ Nice Pool
One of the best hotels we stayed in Vietnam.
The spa was very nice.
You can rent a scooter for 150.000 VND/24h
10min by food to the old town
Airport transfer worked perfectly.
Lovely hotel in beautiful gardens. Loved the location as it was so easy to get to the beach and the old town. Staff were so helpful and accommodating. Our family had a fab stay here.
