This place is filled with magnificent historical destinations, friendly people and great cuisine. And it is also budget friendly! Rent a motorbike or scooter (around 130K - 150K VND/ day) will help you explore every corner of Hue. Some restaurants and cafes that I recommend: - Coffee & Salted cream coffee: Cà Phê Muối - 142 Đặng Thái Thân street - Tân Coffee - 14 Phạm Hồng Thái street - Thành cafe - 328 Phan Bội Châu street - Bún bò O Chi - Đường Xuân 68 street (intersection with Mai Thúc Loan street) - Bánh Mì Trường Tiền O Tho - 14 Trần Cao Vân street - Chè Mợ Tôn Đích (Chè = Sweet soup/ gruel) - 20 Đinh Tiên Hoàng street - Quán bánh O Lé - Kiệt 104, 17/9 Kim Long street (In a small alley and the owner does not speak English but very friendly, it is a family business and only accept cash payment in VND. You can check Google maps for more information and guidance to get there.)

Loved the antiquities museum. Situated near the citadel but a separate ticket. Lovely old wooden palace. Takes about 1-1.5hr to visit. Often missed in the day tours. The Citadel was a little disappointing. It has the potential to be a major attraction. The grounds needed lots of attention. The main royal palace was under construction or maintenance, so a 'no-go zone'. Having read about the damage to the Citadel during the 1968...
Having read about the damage to the Citadel during the 1968 events, expectations about the Citadel were modest. However, both the city and the Citadel turned out to be quite charming and captivating. We spent more than half a day exploring the Citadel. Using Grab for transportation made it easy and convenient to explore the city. Just try avoid going during hot periods - we went early April and felt temperatures were extremely hot around 42-44c.

Hue is great to visit since there where many historic sites to go to In addition Hue is still not too overrun by tourists, i.e. if you stay a couple of nights at which you have the opportunity to go to local restaurants like CHAN and see how vietnamese families enjoy life.AAnonymous

We enjoyed a walk by the Perfume River to the left and across the road from the hotel skirting the side of the Music Academy. If you want buffet or 5 star breakfast go somewhere else . One other thing that sets this apart is how quiet this hotel is no one banging doors, moving furniture or yelling in the corridor ( well it wasn't the times we stayed) that's an added bonus when travelling . We will return when in Hue again .

The hotel is also conveniently located and is very close to the river, which is nice to walk along in the evenings.

A lot of the staff spoke English so it was easy to be understood and feel like a valued customer especially the manage of the tour operator counter.

The staff was kind and professional, our room was beautiful and clean. The breakfast contained maybe one of the biggest selection I've ever seen (from european breakfast to asian/ vietnamese breakfast) and such a big variety, even with fresh specials from hue (pho cuon, banh beo etc). The pool area was okay tho and the sport area had everything we needed.

Highly recommend people stay at this hotel if you're staying in Hue.
