In my opinion, Sapa is now an extremely bad place to stay for more than a day or two. Crowded with people and traffic, a very noisy city full of smog and garbage. On the other hand, it is an ideal base for short scooter trips to the surrounding areas. But if you can, look elsewhere for cheaper accommodation. We found good food only with great difficulty and very far from the center, basically unreachable without a motorbike. Today, Sapa is a classic tourist attraction with all the classic ills of the tourism industry.

The city of Sapa has turned into a super touristic city,...
The city of Sapa has turned into a super touristic city, with crowding, bustle and traffic jams on the streets. Everything is very expensive with very low value for money.
Unfortunately we encountered many children in local costumes dancing or taking photos with tourists for a few baht. Local organizations advise tourists not to give money or candy to children so as not to encourage them to drop out of school.
However, the surrounding villages are very beautiful to enjoy the nature, the wonderful view, peace and quiet, The transportation from Sapa to the villages is relatively cheap for citizens who trade with Euro or Dollar. In the surrounding villages there are many good options for accommodation and food with wonderful nature, good services and reasonable prices. There are many hiking trails and all hoteliers can arrange to have a guide at a low price. You can thus meet people from some local tribes and discuss their way of life.
Prefer the surrounding villages, anyway no attractions are inside Sapa.
Currency exchange is not very easy. ATMs only spoke Vietnamese, the bank only opened in the morning, and the currency exchange shop gave a much lower rate. For credit or debit card transactions they charged an additional 5%. Many attractions only accepted cash for the ticket.
In summary I recommend staying outside of Sapa and carrying enough cash.

Sapa is a well known tourist destination.
Sapa is a well known tourist destination. The Cable Car to Fansipan was really awesome. The Cable Cars are a bit expensive for Vietnam standards, but it's completely understandable considering the engineering used to build it. They are still much cheaper than ones I've been on other places in the world(Hong Kong, Gatlinburg USA, others).
The Glass Elevator/Bridge about 30 minutes drive from the city was an amazing experience and highly recommended.
Around the Sapa station area, we tried to sit and relax from walking around all day. Some street sellers dressed in ethnic outfits stood right next to us even after we said no several times. Even after we bought something, 2 more of them showed up and wanted us to buy more. After 10 minutes we had to leave, because we couldn't relax due to their aggressive selling.

Fansipan summit is a breath taking view from suspension...
Fansipan summit is a breath taking view from suspension cable cab. Buy the tickets one way to the summit, then walking down to visit all the pagodas. Bring along a warm coat, ears cover because the summit weather is unpredictable. The day we visited Fansipan, lowland temperature was 19 degree Celsius with clear sky and fully sunny, by the time we reached the summit around 11am. the temperature was dropped down to 2 degree Celsius with high wind and partial cloudy. Most Sapa villages have unpaved trail, be sure to purchase knee high waterproof boots at the Sapa main market if you plan to visit those villages during rainy season. Bring small Vietnamese currency such as 1000VND or 2000VND if you want to give out to the little kids beggar or for a chance to take a picture with them

Sapa is a bit overhyped thanks to Social Media.
Sapa is a bit overhyped thanks to Social Media. I would stay 4 days in total. Two for hiking, once north, once south (or taking motorbike tours), one for a traditional ethnic workshop like batik or embroidery and one to go up Fansipan, the highest mountain in Indochina.
Sapa is a small city that has become increasingly touristic and you will encounter several places that operate with fake google ratings.
This was the most amazing, high quality hotel! 5he location is so central yet so quiet. The Junior Suite is perfect and such incredible value for the quality. Beds are very comfortable and bath is beautiful. Very modern and clean. The breakfast is excellent...one of the best we've had in Vietnam. We stayed 3 nights and the hotel arranged a 2 day/ 1 night homestay trek - highly recommended. Mai and Su are genuinely great ladies and shared so much culture with us. Mrs Tran is a kind and thoughtful host at Eden. We hope to return! 💗
Vietnam and the beauty of the highlands
Sapa is a natural beauty, We made the right choice when coming to this hotel, the hotel with European-style colors, looks different from the outside, but when entering the reception hall and the room is very large. , utility services such as hot water swimming pool and sauna operate very effectively and usefully.
You will want to come back and stay again when you have the opportunity to come to Sapa
Thank you for giving me a wonderful vacation in Sapa
The staff were amazing, really helpful and polite! The location was amazing just 5 mine away from a great pub and 10 mins away from the center of town. The facilities were completely clean and there was complimentary tea coffee and water available.
Beds were very comfy especially compared to other hotels I went to in Vietnam. Breakfast was incredible it was buffet style service and a free option off the large breakfast menu as well included. 10/10 definitely recommend for a stay in sa pa
This was the nicest hotel we stayed in whilst travelling Vietnam. The hotel is brand new and everything feels so clean and fresh. The rooms are really bright and spacious, with super comfortable beds. The staff really go out of their way to make your stay as enjoyable as possible, haven’t had as good service as this before from a hotel! Breakfast is really tasty too. Location is good to be able to walk into Sapa and explore the local cafes and restaurants.
The service made me feel at home. Everyone was so kind. They accommodated our late check-in and the hotel was 4min walk from the bus drop off! At breakfast they offer to make us noodles soup which was one of the best that we've had in our month in Vietnam.
Washroom was well stocked and they offer lots of items like comb, toothbrush, etc.
Such a perfect place to stay if you're on a budget and want something comfortable.
Service was great. They speak English well and assisted us with everything that we needed including providing extra phone charger. The room had a great view. We enjoyed waking up every morning to see the panoramic mountain view right from the bed, and fresh cool air coming thru the wide open balcony throughout the day and night. The hotel location was a plus point as it was so near to Sun Plaza and Sapa Lake.
Mr. Hung , the hotel manager really went out of his way to make my stay happy in Sapa. I arrived at 3am and he stayed up the whole night ad made sure my room is ready, he even helped me with services in other hotels, he gave me recommendations what to do in Sapa, he also offered taxi, motorbike even bicycle so I can speak only in superlatives. The best host I have ever seen.
I travel 1 month in Vietnam from South to Nord and this hotel is my preferred.
We hade a free early check-in, a lot of good tips to visit Sapa, a moto with a small fee and the girl from the reception is sweet and helpful with everything.
The hotel is very central, with a lot of restaurants nearby and the cable car station.
I definitely recommend it.
From the moment you step into En Hotel Sapa, you're greeted with impeccable service and hospitality. The staff goes above and beyond to ensure that every guest feels welcomed and pampered throughout their stay. The accommodations are spacious, well-appointed, and equipped with all the modern conveniences to ensure a comfortable experience.
Central location, friendly staff, the room was very clean. We booked this Amazig hotel beacause recommendation of my friend who did stay before us. Big room, nice decoration, Hug Balcony overlooking to the town and Fanxipan MT but very quite. We did a day trek, organized by the Ricky and It was one of our best experience we had in Vietnam.
We stayed here for 3 nights and felt like home with face full of smiles as well as great hospitality.
They stayed up late and allowed us to check in the middle of the night. Also accommodates our custom food requests.
It may not be a 5 star hotel but we will remember this stay as a highlight on our Vietnam trip.
Highly recommended ❤️
The hotel was clean and room was big we even had a balcony with nice view
The staff were amazing and helped us with everything- transportation, tickets for attractions and even let us check out late! We will definitely recommend to anyone going to sapa to stay here!
So far the best stay we had on our trip through Vietnam. The hotel is very cosy and stylish. The room was specious, beautifully designed and had a fantastic view over the valley. The staff is exceptionally nice and very obliging. Food and drinks are tasty and fresh.
Quan is so so so kind and caring!! He’s the owner of the hotel and we love him so much! He’s like a big brother to us, he guided us on the best places, taught us how to brew Vietnamese coffee, gave us food, etc. He made our trip extra special! 💖
Got free breakfast during our stay in this hotel. Receptionist very helpful and answer all our question. They also help us to call soe viet transportation since we cannot speak in vietnamese. Staff all friendly and recomended to all tourist 👍🏻
The hotel staff was helpful, courteous and professional. The hotel is arty and beautifully built to capture the panoramic view of Sapa. The breakfast offered a good variety of western n Vietnamese food.
We arrived at Sapa at 4am, we got early check in with humble staff. The receptionist is helpful. We rent some motorcycles from the hotel and they told where is the favorite to go.
very nice location, with the best view to the mountains. the host was super nice, explained a lot and helped to book next trip. One of the best hotels so far in Vietnam!!!
Good value for money. Rooms are simple but very clean. More like a hotel than a hostel. Location is great, right on the lake. Cheap laundry service also available.
