We loved wandering around Ha Long. There are a lot of areas where improvements can be made. Being a tourist area, the cafes and restaurants need to lift their game. There is nowhere to have breakfast or lunch. The cafe's at An Bang beach were a lot better. Also, when walking around the waterfront, we noticed a lot of rubbish in the water. It is not a good look.
We would like to go back one day soon.

Ha Long is a short distance to travel to arrive at the marina. The bay was delightful, unbelievably picturesque, and very stunning - well worth a visit. Kayaking is fun although it was packed with visitors from the boats. We loved the cooking class activity and tai chi in the morning. Very enjoyable experience - we could have stayed longer than 1 night only.

Ha long is a beautiful place to spend your summer holiday as it is quite near from the capital city of Vietnam (Hanoi), approximately 2 hours drive on the high way. There are many different cuisines in town so that one can easily find their spot. Local people seem to be quite friendly and helpful as they are familiar with tourism which plays an important part in the economy of the province. Overall, it is indeed highly recommended to visit Ha Long and certainly you will be easily amazed with all the offer that this wonderful city brings to you and your loved ones respectively.

Ha Long Bay is beautiful, but we were there in shoulder season when you look in any direction and i counted 31 vessels.
The beach at Ti Top is beautiful and the climb is quite sobering, worryingly, it wasn't the busy season and you could barely move on the beach.
Much like Venice, perhaps they need to consider paying a tax/ premium to keep it pristine and not over crowded.
Really gutted they got rid of the alcoholic monkey from 20 years ago, guess they not PC these days.

Halong Bay was a magic place but sadly very dirty and it doesn’t seem cruise companies care about preserving it. We got to witness housekeeping from a boat throwing all the rubbish into the water, which was heartbreaking to see. I hope the local environmental authorities take measures around litterers.

Ha Long Bay is a wonderful and unique natural seascape.
Ha Long Bay is a wonderful and unique natural seascape. Unfortunately the sea is somewhat dirty due to the many excursion boats. The Lan Ha Bay route is much better: less crowded with boats, cleaner and just as wonderful as Ha Long.

Ship personel was very helpful but they couldn't speak engilsh. Only coordinator, Tam speak engilsh good. When we are on board tthey gave us hot hearbl tea as welcome drink. All food served on board was delishous. They were well organised for all activities, In the cooking activity, poeple prepare vietnamese food and at dinner we ate it. We had wonderfull time on borad. They have shuttle from Hanoi to Halog Bay. We taked it and they pick up us from our hotel and drop off to hotel. The fee of shuttle is good.
Lovely clean rooms. The receptionist upgraded our room free of charge so that we could get a larger room with a balcony overlooking the dock. The hotel was situated right next to the dock where our Ha Long Bay day cruise ended which made it ideal for an overnight stay. The hotel is not too far from the city and getting a grab (uber) into the city was very easy for an evening out. The hotel was also within walking distance from the ferry that took us to Cat Ba Island the next day.
Really lovely hotel felt very fancy, in a great location with a balcony and the room was really large and clean with a huge shower and all the amenities we could need! We were super impressed especially by how cheap it was.
The girl that checked us in was lovely even though we came in super early at 4am to check in! A nice hotel with views of ha long bay and right next to the shopping centre so very convenient
