Our stay at Stockghyll cottage was the highlight of our two-week trip throughout the UK. The hosts were welcoming, helpful, and accommodating. The location is great -- just a short walk into town (Bowness), and the scenery is beautiful and serene. The breakfast is made-to-order every morning. Highly recommend!

First time in UK and first time in Windermere. My wife and I stayed in 5 different hotels in UK during our 2 weeks in UK. This is our top 1. We spent 1 night here. Breakfast is awesome with really good taste and a variety of choices. Room is nice, host is a very nice person. Everything is so good and we will definitely come back and stay here again if we visit Windermere again in the future.

Clare and Robert were amazing hosts, very attentive and readily giving advice on the region. The location is very good only 10 minutes walking distance from the center and several restaurants while still being very quiet. The best part was the breakfast which you could select each evening from various options. The rooms are super clean and I slept very well in the comfy beds

A lovely lady at reception gave us free prosecco on arrival and then showed us around the hotel before taking us to our room which they had very kindly upgraded us!! The hotel was absolutely gorgeous and the room was extremely clean, spacious and comfortable. You are provided with Elemis products which are luxury, as well as a robe, slippers and towels. Also, the Head of room management left a gift and card in our room, in recognition of our return to the hotel and our anniversary of our honeymoon spent there. The suite we were moved to had a lovely view over the lake.
