The view was amazing! The hotel has fast service. We had a little problem in the bathroom, and the receptionist changed one of our rooms in 10 minutes to solve the problem. The room was big and clean. The breakfast was good.

Met all expectations. Very modern and quite high tech compared to most comparable hotels in Sicily.
Featuring a traditional restaurant, Rifugio Sapienza is just 10 metres from the cable car linking to the top of Mount Etna. This property offers a bar, free ski storage, and a shared lounge room.

This spot was chosen for the close access to Etna in the morning. Functional, clean but needs refresh. Breakfast and bar sympa.
The only hotel at an altitude of 2000 metres in the UNESCO World Heritage Site Etna Regional Park, Hotel Corsaro is 300 metres from the cable way and meeting point for excursions to the crater.

The host was very welcoming and gave us useful information on the city and the Etna area. The location is great, 5 minutes walk from the main street, the room is nicely decorated, comfortable, clean and quite.
Fly to Catania Airport, 18km from Nicolosi. From there, take a taxi or bus. Domestic travellers can also drive (220km from Palermo, 85km from Messina). No direct water transport available.
The most convenient airport for Nicolosi, Italy is Catania-Fontanarossa Airport, due to its proximity and frequent flights. It's approximately 30 kilometres away, making it a short journey for both domestic and international travellers.

This town has so much charm and everyone here is so lovely. We enjoyed going on a long walk around the neighborhood, and at night the whole town comes alive in the Piazza. These folks know how to have fun!

Anyone staying in Nicolosi for a holiday needs their own...
Anyone staying in Nicolosi for a holiday needs their own transport. Sicily is not like Malta and doesn't have a good public bus service, sadly.
Also you need to be a very confident driver if you are considering hiring a car there. It's every man/woman for himself.
The only other way to get around is by booking tours, which do seem to be plentiful.
Plenty of good places in Nicolosi to eat and well stocked supermarkets.
My only criticism really is the amount or rubbish left on the road sides, which seems such a shame for such a beautiful civilised place and is something that local councils really need to address.

Very scenic and a quaint village.
Very scenic and a quaint village. You will need own transportation to be more free to go where you want. They have rosticcierie for lunch and food is lovely.
For pizza, particularly if you have intolerances, order from Punto ICS - excellent and does delivery.
We also ate at La Baita di Rosemary, prices are affordable and they have a varied menu but isn't ideal for food intolerances, though they do oblige for food for children.

Nicolosi is a vibrant town with lots of delicious restaurants. It is very easy to get to Etna from here, and good travel link to other tourist attractions such as Taormina, Catania, Aci Reale. Comparing to Catania, Nicolosi is much quieter, cleaner and we feel very safe in this town.

Great location for visiting Etna and the region.
Great location for visiting Etna and the region. Unfortunately, constant dogs barking meant that we couldn't use place to relax in-between excursions. Host has 7 dogs and most neighbours do too, we took are dog, but he is trained. Host was nice, English not so good but neither is my Italian so not really an issue. Patio of place was full of ash on our arrival, which could have been swept up in 2 mins and avoided being walked inside. I don't know if it is mentioned in the description the amount of dogs the owner has, but if somebody has a fear of dogs or small children who are a bit dog wary, this is not the place for you. You do not come into contact with them but you are well aware of their presence.

Tourist town. I regret we had stayed there.
Tourist town. I regret we had stayed there. Was hard to find an honest and authentic place to eat. Lost of repelling restaurants.
Luckily we were recomended by our host to eat at Scorzonera and it was worth it.
The design of the overall hotel is absolutely great - every detail is thought through, modern and stylish. Apart from great beds the breakfast provided us with a great start into the day. It is an almost family like setting with the hotel staff trying to fulfill every wish. The quality of the food is great and even included home baked fresh cake :)
The location is really good: There is highly regarded pizza & steak place nearby and its a short trip by car to both the Etna and Catania.
the drive up through the volcanic landscape - gorgeous. already around the Refugio a lot of beautiful volcanic craters to explore. we stayed in one of the attic rooms which was cute and comfy. the restaurant was great - good portions, good value, good food, great service. all in all there was a really good vibe and it far exceeded our expectations for a mountain Rifugio. of course the location is in the middle of the touristic hub for etna, but it all dies down after the crowds leave.
The hotel is in a typical mountain lodge style, high up on the mountain. Rooms are fairly basic, as per the style, but comfortable and clean. We had booked a 4 bed room, and were happy to find there were 2 bedrooms.
Staff were helpful and friendly. The included breakfast was generous and tasty.
We had dinner at the restaurant, which was excellent. Local food and wine and very generous servings.
The breakfast was buffet style, and the choice of foods and drinks was absolutely wonderful. The best breakfast we had in Sicily. The staff were very friendly and made us feel at home immediately. We had a room with a balcony that had loungers, which was a marvellous bonus. Also, the choice of pillows in the room was excellent. You have several options, depending on individual preference.
Lovely old style hotel with great people. Half way to Mt Etna and a good place to stop after a late flight and hire car pick up. Breakfast was a good mix of things and plenty of it. Great value for money. Also, 2 good restaurants within a 100 meters. Parking off street was a bonus.
Great location to visit Etna and Catania! Really nice athmosphere close to the Etna Vulcano. The host is outstanding! Alessandro was always reachable, gave great recommendations and provided help instantly. We loved to stay there. We felt very welcomed. Highly recommended!
The host family was incredibly kind and welcoming. The house and the gardens surrounding it, we’re private, beautiful and very tranquil. Our breakfast was served outside on the patio, surrounded by the gardens. So lovely. Our favorite housing experience in Sicily.
Spotlessly clean and really comfy with a nice garden to sit in. Cooking facilities excellent and the whole apartment was very spacious. It was walking distance from central Nicolosi and the parkrun is just up the road. Owners were really lovely.
Breakfast was good but would prefer English breakfast. The room was very clean and they changed the towels ever 2 days and was surprised because they changed the linen in the middle of our stay. Not many hotels do it. I would recommend this B&B.
Location is excellent if you want to visit Etna, Taormina, Syracuse, Outlet village as it is well connected. Nicolosi has many restaurants and bars so after a day of excursions you can stay in town for dinner. At walking distance from this B&B.
I did not actually stay at this property as they were having structural problems so the put me at another prperty MAISON MARRIANA B&B so this review is about them. The property was wonderful clean cheerful and close to Etna
Very cozy, clean and spacious. In a perfect location to visit the Etna and not far from Catania Taormina and the seaside. Nice and friendly guests ready to help and give information on the activities to do in the area.
What a stunning place. From the design to the staff, it is an environmental beauty. There is no better way to experience Sicily here than with Bruno and the whole staff at Criu.
