Ocean Mist Hotel, hotel in Yarmouth

Standing on the shores of a private beach on Nantucket Sound, this relaxing vacation property features beautiful views of the water from 2 levels. Free Wi-Fi is available.

We had a nice stay there years ago and followed up on our reservations by contacting the hotel to tell them what type of room we wanted, preferably the one we had before, This was 2 months before our stay. When we got there, they said I should go into a different type room in the back of the property, but they had the type we wanted for $40 more per night. We took it, but looked up the rate they gave us which was more than there very own printed rate online! Meanwhile, folks moved out of the room we wanted and they never even offered it to us. It wasn't the money, it was the fact that all this could have been resolved months earlier and they didn't care enough to try. This really messed up our 50th wedding anniversary, or could have had we dwelled on it! The bit about putting us in one of the rooms in the back, which I had written that I absolutely did not want, near the pool and kids without the view we went there to enjoy was really prejudicial. At one point, booking.com asked if we wanted to look into an upgrade. I pushed yes and found the "upgrade" was for a two queen room. I didn't want that, but somehow it was put through anyway and more deposit was charged to our credit card. we do not belong to any known groups that are currently experiencing bad prejudice right now (such as black, Jewish, Gays etc.) but I am confined to a wheelchair and they knew this from our previous written communications. They have a hot tub which they advertised that everyone could use it. They have a nice lift right next to it....WITH NO BATTERIES. well, scratch that too. The maids and maid service, were terrific during our entire stay. Also, even through the initial unpleasantness and upcharge, the room we had actually had a better view than the one we'd suggested. Only trouble was, this is a non-smoking facility with written reminders put on each individual patio. I am allergic to cigarette smoke and my respiratory system shuts down.

The Inn at Yarmouth Port, hotel in Yarmouth

Located near Cape Cod Bay, and housed in an historic home that dates to 1843, this Yarmouth Port B&B features a blend of antique and modern furnishings.

The property was truly great in many ways. The beauty of the renovated Inn caught our eyes immediately when booking and upon arrival. Kathleen, Chuck, and the staff were immensely informative and personable. Kathleen’s breakfasts were definitely restaurant quality, and the freshly made baked goods provided were exquisite. The Salt Pond Room was neatly arranged, and marvelously decorated.

A beautiful, charming place, but we purposely go a bit before the season starts because it becomes unbearable crowded very fast because of the small size. We also, usually, save 10% or more by putting a deposit I sit down well in advance....just not this time. This place has something for everyone- history, water park, many, many free beaches...well kept most of them. Tons of nice restaurants, reasonably priced. One of the best is right across the road from Ocean Mist. They are more expensive than most, but awesome for a special occasion.

The area of Yarmouth is very large.

The area of Yarmouth is very large. The main central road is very busy. The area is generally very pretty with lots of trees and wildlife - we even saw a coyote. Whilst we were there we also did a whale watching trip which was very successful. Lots of restaurants in the area - many close early. It is essential to have your own transport to get around

Lovely area, close to all the Cape had to offer.

Lovely area, close to all the Cape had to offer. We spent time in Yarmouth and the surrounding towns. The sunset at Grays beach was amazing! We walked throughout the town. The Chapter House was centrally located. Michelle was wonderful about giving us options for a day a fun and adventure. Jim took care of all our needs and Lisa was waiting with cocktails at the end of each day...couldn't have asked for a better experiencer!

I like the Captain's Walk of Historical homes.

I like the Captain's Walk of Historical homes. You can download the map online. The flowers, along the way are beautiful. My sister and i played tourist, even though we grew up there, and had fun revisiting this beautiful place in June. We ate ice cream, stopped in shops, took pictures of our childhood church: First Congregational Church of Yarmouth, and enjoyed making memories in Yarmouth Port.

First I’d like to say the house is amazing. The photos online don’t do this property justice. The house was VERY clean and the room was perfect with everything one would need for a comfortable stay. The interior was wonderful and the decor perfectly accented this Cape Cod home. We were greeted by John and Kris who made us feel right at home. They treated us like family and we will definitely return to stay. The breakfast they served was out of this world!! And lets not forget the fresh fruit and fresh baked cookies in our room!!

Breakfast was delicious. Cookies were too. Our hostess is a great baker. Nice to have coffee/tea available at all times. Hosts/staff were very friendly, welcoming. and accommodating. (We arrived at 6:15 pm.) Bed was delightfully comfortable. Price was most reasonable for this level of accommodation in Yarmouthport though still somewhat high by our standards. We stopped at the Bass Hole boardwalk on a rainy morning in memory of many visits past.
