Lovely seaside town with spectacular mountain and coastal...
Lovely seaside town with spectacular mountain and coastal views, good promenades and beach, plenty of eating and drinking options. Very comfortable apartment with very friendly and informative hostess/manager. On our first night it was the festival of the town's patron saint - cue midnight bonfire and fireworks - we had a grandstand view across the river from our balcony. A couple of potential snags - the beach was closed for bathing because of river pollution (but there are some great beaches not far away); and the house between us and the mountain view looked like it was scheduled for redevelopment. Also, we did not have time, but historic caves nearby. Otherwise, it was perfect. I don't say that very often.

Lovely village with marina and nice walks along the promenade and harbourside. Not a huge choice of eating establishments but the one we chose "El Campanu" was terrific if a bit erratic in the order of delivery of dishes!

This was a stop for just one night along my walking trip.
This was a stop for just one night along my walking trip. I arrived at 14:00 I felt like I did tour the town by the evening. I took a long walk along the two parts of the town connected by the bridge, walked in the water, barefoot, along the beach which was so refreshing and relaxing for my tired feet. The views were stunning and the weather was so pleasant. Used the common lavendarias to wash my clothes, dined and had coffee with some delicious chocolate assortment at a nice chocolate store at the main town whole. It was Sunday and most of the shops were closed. Overall, it is very recommended for a short stop or get-way for peach lovers and surfers.

Ribadesella is a small gem.
Ribadesella is a small gem. Beautiful beach with a promenade you can walk all the way round. Nice little town with views of the mountains all around. Only a handful of hotels and limited places to eat and drink but that is to be expected for a small seaside town. Very peaceful. In the morning we woke to the sound of the waves on the shore.

The town boasts this lovely bay.
The town boasts this lovely bay. Our hotel was on the beach so we could take it all in at leisure. We walked from one end of the beach to the other taking in the lovely atmosphere. A short walk over the bridge to the town which looked quite busy and offered lots of restaurants, note that most of them don't open until 8.30 pm. Our hotel was well signposted and easy to find. We actually ate in one of the restaurants that we later found just behind our hotel rather than going back into town later. It was as good. We got a good view of the town from the viewpoint so had plenty to explore.

This place has amazing geography.
This place has amazing geography. River, ponds, beach and views of the mountains. A small marina & working boats, dropping catch at the fish market. If you like a stroll, then do the health walk, it takes you past ponds teaming with wildlife. A slightly more strenuous walk, then head for the Ermita. A proper all day walk head west, a circular walk over to the next place and back. Several businesses offering opportunities for water sports. We were there out of season and on a Monday, so couldn’t find a restaurant, (Monday closing, or closed for winter). Would like to return in spring.
It was the first time that I stayed in a 1-star hotel and expectations were not very high.
However, the room was bright and comfy with a private bathroom. I even had a bay window with a small table and 2 chairs, to sit in the sun.
There was also free wifi around the hotel, which was very good..The lady at the reception was really friendly and helpful and the hotel was coveniently located in the old part of town.
The sea front, a DIA supermarket and some restaurants were only a few steps away.
This hotel was wonderful. The guy at the front desk was so welcoming. The hotel looks to have been built during the mid century modern era and the decor was as well. It was very clean and there was a bath tub—Perfect for pilgrims on the Camino after walking all day. The location was fabulous, near the beach and close to restaurants and a laundromat. I highly recommend Hotel Arena!
Terrace cafeteria. It has a nice view, good wine and food. Breakfast was very good. We didn't notice that the day we had booked was the Descent of Sella River. We realised that we were very lucky to get a room to stay in Ribadesella on that day of all others. The party area was in the centre of the town and we didn't bothered by the noise in the hotel. We had a good sleep.
Super hotel with a beautiful sea front setting. We had a little balcony overlooking the beach and slept with the door slightly open so we could hear the sea. We’ve been on 2 week road trip around northern Spain and this was the comfiest bed of the trip.
The staff were all genuinely friendly.
Breakfast was great, although there was no hot food.
The location, very tranquil beautiful place in nature but also easy acces to the highway and the rest of Asturias.
Elana the hostess, very nice charming lady, and the hotel it self, nice clean room, bathroom in a building with a lot of charm!
yes , for sure I can recommend this place if you visit Asturias.
Very clean and comfortable, with a charming room and a delicious breakfast. Located a few minutes drive outside Ribadesella itself, in a quiet, rural setting with a lovely view of the ocean. Marife, the manager was super nice, friendly, and helpful. we really enjoyed our stay!
Beautiful 1912 hotel with so much charm, good view of the port and managed by a lovely woman giving us her full attention with such a dedicated breakfast. Because it was low season we were given a room with a nice view with no extra charge. That was amazing
My favorite hotel on the Camino del Norte so far. Modern facilities, lovely terrace, spacious room, and a private balcony overlooking the beach. We had a good dinner in the hotel restaurant as well. Hotel staff were kind and attentive.
The breakfast was made to order and was really delicious. The hotel is small and beautiful. Each room has a different theme, ours was Las Naranjas. Ribasedella is a beautiful small town and I wished we could stay longer.
The location is superb, right on the beach. The hotel itself is a beautiful and unique building. The beds were comfortable and the breakfast was great. Nice to be served at the table rather than having a buffet.
A charming older hotel with cheerful staff, located on the edge of the old town. Our room (306) was large and well-furnished with a balcony large enough for a table and chairs. We enjoyed our stay very much.
Quiet location with easy access to centre of Ribadesella. Extremely well run family concern with lovely staff.
Excellent well maintained swimming pool.
