We had a pretty cool view and the room was very clean and comfortable. We did not have access to ice or a fridge, so we ended up buying a bag of ice at the Kronan grocery store. All around, the room was excellent, clean, and comfortable. Staff was also very helpful, especially with the slightly different check-in process.

I liked the size of the room and the large bathroom with heated towel rack. It was also very quiet. I like that they had breakfast included.

Great location and very clean. Almost has a hostel feel. It was a good thing we decided to just take our daypacks with our clothes for the next day to the room as anything more could not be accommodated.,

The hostel itself is clean, warm, and cozy, with hot showers, great water pressure, and a well-equipped kitchen stocked with all the utensils, pots, and pans you need for a basic meal (though you’ll need to bring your own food). That said, it’s worth enjoying the excellent restaurants in town. The hostel is easy to find: from the pier, walk toward the church along the main street—just past Nettó on the right, before the church. If you reach the church cemetery, you’ve gone too far. Look for the small, understated sign on the yellow building, then head around the back to enter. Tip: When you arrive at the airport, shuttles are waiting outside to take you into town for about $12 USD—well worth it, as it’s too far to walk (I mean you can…I guess). Ask to be dropped off at the Ísafjörður Hotel; they’ll know exactly where you mean. This is also where the Europcar rental desk is located, and check-in for the hostel is done here as well. They offer tea for about 400 kr, breakfast service may be over depending on your arrival time. They have a great lunch buffet as well. The staff are very friendly and accommodating, and they’ll store your luggage in a secure room if you arrive before check-in. You can use the WiFi at the hotel while you wait. A helpful perk: guests often leave extra gas canisters here. This can save you from buying the wrong type—there are two kinds: click-in and threaded. For example, I use a Jetboil, which requires threaded canisters, and avoided wasting more money after learning this the hard way. I even picked up an extra canister at the Hornstrandir Information Center (across from the hotel), but ended up using the one I found at the hostel until my very last morning.

The idea base camp for time spent in the Westfjords region.

The idea base camp for time spent in the Westfjords region. If you have a rental car, you can drive anywhere else you'd like to see, but Ísafjörður has the most options for town activities. The location in the fjord is incredible. I would visit again.

This town is wonderful and quaint.

This town is wonderful and quaint. The setting is stunning, with mountains surrounding the entire town. The people there are very friendly, and it is easy to walk around. The streets have beautiful flower plantings, and there is a fun nughtclub where you can meet local townspeople. We highly recommend it!

Stayed two nights in this gem of a town. First night we camped and it was a fantastic campground. Second night was calling for snow so stayed in the hostel. Best Bonus grocery store we have seen with prices much less than anywhere else in Iceland.

Interesting in itself; however, you need a car to explore the area. Side roads, not too difficult, lead to many beautiful sights. I probably said "Wow" more in the few days in Westfjords than any other time.

The drive to Isafjorour we stopped at Dynjandi Waterfall...

The drive to Isafjorour we stopped at Dynjandi Waterfall called Thundering Waterfall. It is actually several waterfalls topped by a bridal veil large fall. Well worth the steep hike up. One of the most beautiful waterfall we visited in Iceland. The drive back toward Reykjavik was stunning along five fjords and many waterfalls. Glacier views. Lava fields. And mountains. So wanted to eat at Tjoruhusid. But needed a reservation and could not get in. Recommend making a reservation before you leave home. A perfect ending to our trip to the Westfjords.

Room was clean and comfortable. We had access to a lounge / kitchen next to our room. Nobody else used it on the two days we were there but with only one table for breakfast it could have been a problem if six or more other rooms on the same floor wished to use it at the same time. Similarly we also got access to the only shower on the floor when we wanted. The use of the washing machine was great as we had already been touring Iceland for two weeks when we arrived here. The location was great for walking round the town.

Located in the centre of town. Ample free car parking around the hotel even though the designated spaces are limited. Easy and courteous check in and out. All the staff we interacted with were customer focused. Bed was comfortable. Breakfast, continental with hot scrambled egg and bacon was good. Happy Hour pricing spot on.
