The lobby and breakfast areas were very nice. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. The shower had good hot water. The breakfast had a nice selection of fruit and other breakfast foods. We arrived in Puno early on the bus, and our tour wanted to pick us up at our hotel. We were booked at the hotel for the next night, but the hotel welcomed us in, let us hang out in the lobby, for 3 hours, let us eat breakfast (we paid 15 soles), and then stored our luggage for us until we returned the next day! They were so nice!

Puno is a great city. I like the view on the lake and the Uros/Taquile Islands. I would go back in a heart beat.
The city itself is easy to access but due to higher elevation, I could only walk very short distances before being tired.

It is worth going to the lake in Puno since it is the highest navigable lake in the world and is also unique because of the islands made of reed. It was interesting seeing the lifestyles of the people living on these lakes. The food served as part of the tour was good, but getting to the restaurant was challenging since the climb up to the restaurant was quite steep. The overall experience was very good.

Access to Lake Titicaca, Uros, Amantani & Taquile islands.
Access to Lake Titicaca, Uros, Amantani & Taquile islands. The city itself is not very interesting, nice main square with a cathedral and few goods restaurants (Mojsa at the bottom of the Main square was really excellent, full of international travelers...). Did not have much time to climb on the nearby hills to have a panoramic view of the Puno & Titicaca. Spent two-day / one-night trip to Uros / Amantani / Taquile islands (overnight at Amantani with a local family), very interesting and very down-to-earth, but we all enjoyed the boat trip, Uros, dancing in local costumes & sunset from the top of Amantani (made it with our 8-year old daughter), as well as the next day at Taquile island. The following night we spent at Uros with Felix (Uros Amaru Marka Lodge) was excellent !

We wanted to come for the cultural experiences of the uro peoples but we saw a people who are abusing tourism to live. We were overcharged at every occurrence from transportation, housing, souvenirs, food etc. It left a bad taste in our mouths. We wish we would have spent time in other places in Peru.

Keep in mind that Puno, the town itself, is small.
Keep in mind that Puno, the town itself, is small. They don't have the artensans or activities that other large towns like Cuzco may have, so if you don't care to visit the floating islands of Uros, you may not want to make the trip.

It was twixt Xmas & new Year. Even so the place was buzzing. Markets galore and very well priced. Food was vaery nice in the restuarants.
Dont forget your ina toursit trap and it becomes more apparent as and if you go to the Uros islands. You will not be allowed tp leave until they have rinsed you of every penny they can get out of you -with minimal effort.
There is so much potential to do a lot more but I think the islanders have become lazy and just want to sell you trinkets which in all honesty are mass produced. The guide said they get most if not all oof their income from tourists. I can understand that, but at least make it entertaining rather than a tired old roadshow where they roll out the same thing time after time.
There is a nice promenade along the front with lots of wildlife.
Hope you enjoy.
Happy trails
This accomodation is a great place to experience and get to know better the local culture. We were immersed into it and we felt very well.
We felt the accomodation was well priced.
The breakfast was amazing, above expectations for Peruvian standards.
We served as well the dinner for a fair price.
Manuel, member of the family, drove us by his boat for a fair price to the local port and explained us a few things about the local culture, the work they do to maintain the islands and the main activities.
This property was the best place I stayed during a two week trip to Peru. Ruben and his family were incredibly kind and generous hosts. The property was very interesting, and I loved the tour that Ruben took me on of nearby islands and learning about the construction and maintenance of these unique islands. I especially appreciated the excellent meals that were provided to me! I'd love to return to this property someday and would highly recommend for travelers in Puno.
It's a very nice hotel very close to the Plaza de las armas of Puno. The room was clean and large. The breakfast is very rich including fresh eggs. The hotel was very quite and the beds good to sleep. The bathroom offered hot water at anytime which is not common in Puno.
We had an issue in the bathroom where water was sipping though an isolation. When we reported the issue the fixed the problem from our first stay to the stay one night later. Which is pretty good.
Balcony over lake was nice, but small -- only one chair. This was our primary reason for choosing this hotel. All similar options in the area (GHL, Sonesta) did not have private outdoor space viewing the lake.
Bartender was great - tasty and unique pisco sours
Comfy beds, good housekeeping services
Fireplaces for dinner and at bar were cozy (and needed, the main areas of the hotel were freezing)
Restaurant staff was friendly and accommodating
The owner is a great guy. He works hard to keep the place clean and functioning well. I saw him clean the stairs while I was there.
The shared bathroom have nice hot water, great after a 2 day trip around Lake titicaca.
The beds a comfy with warm covers, the temperature is volatile in Puno.
Right next to the bus station, perfect location.
He was very helpful in helping me navigate good restaurants in Puno. What a great guy
What an unusual hotel, which was perfect for me. As always, the staff were so helpful, and the breakfast delicious. There are unusual decorations, and it feels really like “old Peru” to stay there. I would definitely return.
I hope the very helpful teenager is enjoying my Jacket I left behind deliberately! And gratefully.
Lovely wake-up knock, and delicious breakfast.
We were only staying in Puno for one night before we transferred to Copacabana and this was the perfect place to stay. It’s a bit dated, but probably the nicest hotel in the city center. Staff were very helpful, room was clean and comfortable with a great view overlooking the square, and the breakfast buffet was one of the best we’ve seen in South America!
I got a twin room with a private bathroom with breakfast included (a simple ham or cheese sandwich with tea) for the price of a dormitory bed at most places in Peru. The owners are also very friendly and helpful, they have a tour agency with the hostel that offers the lowest price I could find for tours in Puno. Would recommend!
Very close to the city center. Efrain, the guy who attended us was very friendly and gave us lots of info plus he organized for us the transportation to Amantaní Island and the pick up to the airport.
Breakfast is the classic one, Peruvian style (bread, strawberry jam, some butter, scramble eggs, juice and tea).
Stunning place in Lake Titicaca with amazing hosts. The scenery is incredible, and Franco really made us so welcome. Everything is very well organised. Plenty of space just to rest and relax, and also go on excursions and learn about the Uros culture. The food was the best we’d eaten in a month in Peru.
if you want to spend a few nights in the nice hostel just don’t hesitate to book it with Inka’s rest, they are 24/7 at the desk, you can ask about everything and also they are eager to help with choosing tours. Water is hot which is not obvious in Peru and rooms(dorms) are comfortable for this price.
Nice hotel for a short stay in Puno. The staff was amazing even before we arrived. We had to postpone our stay multiple times due a food infection that we got in Arequipa, and they were super helpful every time we approached them. The bed was comfortable, and they offer a good breakfast buffet.
Clean hotel, helpful staff. Great view on the Titicaca lake. Two alpacas leaving in the garden.
I eat here the best Criolla soup during my stay in Peru. The breakfast is available from 5 am.
It is even possible to exchange euro and US dollar against PEN with a good exchange rate.
The staff were really friendly and helpful at all times. They also let us check in an hour or so early, as the room was ready. It was clean and nice too. The breakfast was also really good - probably the best bread I had in Peru! The WiFi was also excellent and very reliable.
The location of Tierra Viva Puno Plaza is great - It is between two beautiful squares, in the centre of Pune, yet it is off the main road such that is it quite.
The hotel staff is very friendly and our room very clean. We will happy return to Tierra Viva Puno Plaza.
Very nice hotel. I really enjoyed my stay in Puno. I had a little accident with my motorcycle and one of the guys who works there helped me and bought a new light bulb. They are very friendly and helpful people!
Maria and Ronal really helped me organizing tours in Peru. They are very nice people and care for their customers in a kind and professional way. Thank you María and Ronal.
Very kind family running the hotel, they were always ready to assist if I needed anything. Even offered to prepare me breakfast to go when I said I plan to leave at 5am
comparing to other Peru hotels we stayed this was like Hilton or Sheraton. hot water, good internet, nice breakfast, tea available all the time. excellent location
