incredible place with fanatic view from Huayna Picchu. since ticket to Huayna Picchu only have the access to the lower area of Machu Picchu. i should have bought another ticket (circuit 1-4) to visit the upper level. unfortunately, i realized this too late and all tickets were sold out
Amazing and clear as to why it’s the 7th wonder of the world! This is a must do in life. The hike is ok but prepare for the altitude as it can be challenging for some. The beauty on a clear day is truly amazing. We traveled by Inca Rail and it was right on time but the worker strikes were not good! We were very lucky to make it up from Cuzco and to MP! Be aware of the politics in the area as you travel. Our guide was amazing and highly recommend you pay for the guide as there is so much to learn and he made sure the hike was structured so we would see the best sites for pictures! The only downside is they charge at the top to use the toilet so plan ahead and bring cash.
One of the 7 wonders of the world, you feel completely in a different world when walking through the ruins. We had circuit 4 with Huayanapicchu, bare in mind that only 400 people have the chance daily to climb the mountain, so get your tickets early. Overall great experience, but they get you on every corner with different expenses (train from Cusco, bus from Aguas Calientes is 24$, guide etc).
Machu Picchu was breathtaking. We enjoyed our hike up Machu Picchu Mountain and our sightseeing tour of the ruins. The views were phenomenal. We stayed at the Runas Inn and that was an incredible value for our stay. The staff was supportive and helpful. We would highly recommend. Even in the winter Aqua Calientes can get quite warm so layers while exploring and hiking are key--by noon you can wear shorts in July!
My only suggestion is don't do the day trip. I arrived a day and a half before my tour, hung out in the village, then stayed 2 days after. Did the hot springs twice. It was the perfect length, 4 full days
The best place on earth. *Good hiking trail, nature at it's best and a breath of fresh air. The best spot is from the classic photo view spot. *Restaurants in 'Aguas Caliente' offer menu (as it is called) for an affordable price and you can pick something interesting from the menu (which maybe more expensive) if you want. *Getting to Machu Picchu depends on you: via train which leaves from either POROY or Ollantaytambo. Train cost about 65 dollars for foreigners and less than 4 dollars for locals (including residents irrespective of your nationalities). *Avoid procrastination :)
This place is a gem. Friendly & helpful staff, great location (very close to train and bus), breakfast made fresh for each guest, comfortable beds, met us at train station when we arrived, gave us a coupon for complimentary drink at local restaurant. May need translate app if you speak no Spanish to ask your questions, or can use their app. The staff is super attentive, helpful, and patient. And the location really can’t be beat. I recommend giving them your train arrival information so they can show you to the hotel.
Hotel staff came to greet us to take us to hotel. It was Lucio he was courteous, prompt. He Carrie’s our bags up the hill of Aguas Calientes. I was very impressed particularly with Lucio. He also was on the breakfast room. He took care of all of our requests. Lucio thank you you made our stay even happier. We highly recommend this hotel! Clean, delicious breakfast made to order great location. ATM next door and shopping
Machu Picchu
Great location. As soon as you get off the train, the hotel is literally outside. Train does pass by but mostly during the day and we were out and about so not a big deal. They do provide ear pods in case you need them (we didn’t have to use them at all). The front desk staff was super helpful and friendly. Because we were gonna leave very early, the hotel provided a simple box lunch for us to take. 10/10!
Good location near bus station for Machu Picchu bus & near train. BEST complimentary breakfast on our trip! Buffet with eggs, potatoes, breads, cheese, avocado, yogurts, fresh juices, and all sorts of fresh fruit. Plus of course coffee & tea. Breakfast starts at 5 am for early trips to Machu Picchu. Very helpful staff. Special shout out to Wilson. Hotel stored our luggage while we were in MP
Machu Picchu
Carlos is very attentive and helpful. He meets you, otherwise you will not find the house. He knows area well and gave me few useful tips. Hotel newly renovated, very clean, towels and bed linen fresh and crispy white. I stayed ar some 4* with grayish ones. No hot water from sink. Shower is warm enough. Good lighting, pleasant.
Machu Picchu
Small hôtel but the team is friendly and professional. Thank you especially the lady at lobby for her out standing services :my wife needed medical support, she facilitated medical team, with smiles! I booked by mistake triple room instead of double one, the hotel changed to double with the price accordingly.
You are literally in the front gate of Machu Picchu! 😊 Staff is attentive and nice. We couldn't ask for anything they didn't deliver. The rooms are small, but I guess this comes with the location. Though, we had everything we needed in the room. The restaurant in the hotel had s great food!
The service was great, we received breakfast at 5:00 am because we had to leave to Machu Picchu very early. The staff was very nice and accomodating. The breakfast was also quite elaborate. Additionally, the hotel is beautifully decorated with a nice glass elevator.
The staff was great. Aguas Calientes is a small town so you’d either stay at a 5 star hotel or not. If you pick the non 5 star hotels, which we did, most of them are close to the city center and the train station. We loved this small town.
location, pretty close to Peru rail train station when arrival and bus station for Machu Picchu. welcome drink was great. Hotel staff was nice. Clean room and hot water for a good shower.
my room on the back of the hotel was right over the river.
