Located in Machu Picchu, a 7-minute walk from Machu Picchu Hot Spring, Hotel Machupicchu Inn provides air-conditioned rooms and a shared lounge. The 3 women that work at the reception could not have been nicer or more helpful to us!! We needed help reorganizing our plans and they were literally online alongside me searching for Machu Pichu tickets, train tickets etc. The hotel was very clean and the room was nicely decorated with a lovely view of the mountains. The shower had great water power and the water was always hot (not a given everywhere). The location was in the middle of town but there was no noise at night which was ideal. We would 100% stay here again and we thank the ladies at reception for the kindness and attention.

My only suggestion is don't do the day trip. I arrived a day and a half before my tour, hung out in the village, then stayed 2 days after. Did the hot springs twice. It was the perfect length, 4 full days
The best place on earth. *Good hiking trail, nature at it's best and a breath of fresh air. The best spot is from the classic photo view spot. *Restaurants in 'Aguas Caliente' offer menu (as it is called) for an affordable price and you can pick something interesting from the menu (which maybe more expensive) if you want. *Getting to Machu Picchu depends on you: via train which leaves from either POROY or Ollantaytambo. Train cost about 65 dollars for foreigners and less than 4 dollars for locals (including residents irrespective of your nationalities). *Avoid procrastination :)
Great place and the hike up from Aguas Calientes makes the visit even more spectacular. To fully enjoy and respect the historical achievement of the initial inhabitants a hike up is the way to go. Just be careful of the weather, changes all the time and can become slippery.
Getting on the first bus was great. Although I imagine getting the 2nd or 3rd would have been pretty similar too so don't stress too much. We had tickets for the mountain too which meant we lost the option of a tour guide after as it's a one way system and trekking up the mountain took hours and was very intense. I recommend deciding on doing either a guided tour of Machu pichu or climbing one of the mountains - there isn't really time for both.
Machu picchu is amazing - rains 25 days a month during rainy season so be prepared, ponchos are a big seller. Generally time slots are now 4 hours only, and circuit to walk is one way - we would have liked to go back higher to get some more photos but unable to. I would recommend avoiding Aguas Calientes, stay at Ollantaytambo and get the early train, spend 4-6hrs at macchu pichu and get the train back.
Machu Picchu was breathtaking and much larger than I expected. You could spend a full day roaming the place (except that they do not have toilet facilities after the entrance). Although it's crowded, there are many places to veer off and take a picture of yourself feeling like you're on top of the world. Bonus = llamas.
Machu Picchu
This hotel is just near the train station/central craft market of Aguas Calientes - a 3 minute walk. It's right in the center of this small tourist town. It's quite new, it's in excellent condition, it's clean, it's quiet, and the staff was very helpful. They allowed me to store my backpack in town all day long after checking out without hesitation. The breakfast is also good. It was probably the best hotel I stayed in for the cost in all of Peru. Highly recommended!
Machu Picchu
Nice comfortable hotel on the main strip. It is right by the hot springs but essentially right at the end of the road, which is slightly uphill. The train station and busses for Machu Picchu are at the other end, but realistically it’s only a 5 minute walk. Breakfast only ok but starts nice and early for Machu Picchu, which is great. They also have a restaurant there too. Luggage storage which is useful if you need this.
Golden Rise Machu Picchu is a great hotel to stay. They offer excellent customer service, even though with the pandemic issue, they were able to offer great breakfast, room was very clean and offer a great view. The location was great, close to the train station as well as to the bus station. In general Machu Picchu is a great, clean and very secure city. Great place to be.
Machu Picchu
Quite hotel with good view and comfortable room. We liked the location - 3 minutes away from main square, not too loudly. Additionally we should mentioned friendly staff. We had to checkout at 5AM and owner made us breakfast at that time, even though officially it starts later. Also hotel has a storage for luggage if it is needed.
It is probably the best hotel in Aguas Calientes, a place that’s existence is only due to Machu Picchu and is not worth visiting except for the world famous inka town above. The Inkaterra Hotel surely makes the stay more comfortable than most alternatives. The eco concept is also good, as is the included dinner and breakfast.
The hotel is in a great location. Close to shops and restaurants. It's also walking distance to the train station and bus station that takes you to Machu Picchu. The rooms are clean and have hot water to take a shower which is a bonus. The breakfast was amazing with nice views and the staff was nice.
Machu Picchu
Convenient location, modern room. The owner is very kind and helpful. Close enough to the train station and lots of cafes/restaurants. Some people might find awkward that the hotel is above a store (for us this is not an issue). The hotel is on the same street where the bus to Machu Picchu leaves.
Marleni and her staff were very nice. They helped us bring our luggage to the room and to the train station. Breakfast was very good and fresh. The location was very good because it was close to the train station, the bus stop to go to Machu Picchu, and there were restaurants all around the hotel.
Machu Picchu
Excellent service. Hotel is just well located at the main plaza. 2 minutes from the main bus stop for Machu Pichu. Rooms were very clean. Terrace for breakfast with excellent view. They allowed us to leave our luggage during the day during our hiking day.
The hotel is in the middle of Aguas Calientes. Walking distance from the train station and the bus station. Close to restaurants and shops. The room is comfortable, warm and clean. The shower has hot water. It is a little noisy during the night.
The staff was great. Aguas Calientes is a small town so you’d either stay at a 5 star hotel or not. If you pick the non 5 star hotels, which we did, most of them are close to the city center and the train station. We loved this small town.
The view was beautiful. We chose this hotel because we were on our honeymoon and it happens to have my husband’s family’s name. Also the room did have a refrigerator which was a nice surprise. We would not stay here again.
The location of the hotel is pretty central and the room was spacious. The hotel staff were incredibly friendly, nice, and helpful. Plus the breakfast was delicious and there was plenty to eat.
Machu Picchu
Clean and comfortable. Staff ist nice and helpful, good breakfast and also very early. Very good hotel and honest people in a very touristic place like Aguas Calientes!
Breakfast was good, a la carte eggs included with lots of fruit and other fresh options, near everything and the hotel is in nice condition.
Machu Picchu
Very practical for machu picchu. Nice Local street food in front of the hotel.
This place was remarkable!!! They updated our stay because my fiance proposed at Machu Picchu and they gave us a phenomenal view of the mountain side. The breakfast was spectacular and it came with our stay. They placed chocolate covered strawberries in the room as well and spoke about the area and what there was to do near by. They also helped us with our train arrangements as well as our tour arrangements of the mountain. Everything was sanitized and cleaned to covid standards and Maria (the Concierge) as well as the rest of the staff were so kind and so amazing. Remarkable
Great value for our stay in Aguas Caliente and the staff was very nice and helpful
Great position, not far from the station and also to the local village
