Casa De Luz Hotel, Hatun Inti Boutique, and Tierra Viva Machu Picchu Hotel got great room view-related reviews from travelers in Machu Picchu.
incredible place with fanatic view from Huayna Picchu. since ticket to Huayna Picchu only have the access to the lower area of Machu Picchu. i should have bought another ticket (circuit 1-4) to visit the upper level. unfortunately, i realized this too late and all tickets were sold out
Amazing and clear as to why it’s the 7th wonder of the world! This is a must do in life. The hike is ok but prepare for the altitude as it can be challenging for some. The beauty on a clear day is truly amazing. We traveled by Inca Rail and it was right on time but the worker strikes were not good! We were very lucky to make it up from Cuzco and to MP! Be aware of the politics in the area as you travel. Our guide was amazing and highly recommend you pay for the guide as there is so much to learn and he made sure the hike was structured so we would see the best sites for pictures! The only downside is they charge at the top to use the toilet so plan ahead and bring cash.
One of the 7 wonders of the world, you feel completely in a different world when walking through the ruins. We had circuit 4 with Huayanapicchu, bare in mind that only 400 people have the chance daily to climb the mountain, so get your tickets early. Overall great experience, but they get you on every corner with different expenses (train from Cusco, bus from Aguas Calientes is 24$, guide etc).
Machu Picchu was breathtaking. We enjoyed our hike up Machu Picchu Mountain and our sightseeing tour of the ruins. The views were phenomenal. We stayed at the Runas Inn and that was an incredible value for our stay. The staff was supportive and helpful. We would highly recommend. Even in the winter Aqua Calientes can get quite warm so layers while exploring and hiking are key--by noon you can wear shorts in July!
My only suggestion is don't do the day trip. I arrived a day and a half before my tour, hung out in the village, then stayed 2 days after. Did the hot springs twice. It was the perfect length, 4 full days
The best place on earth. *Good hiking trail, nature at it's best and a breath of fresh air. The best spot is from the classic photo view spot. *Restaurants in 'Aguas Caliente' offer menu (as it is called) for an affordable price and you can pick something interesting from the menu (which maybe more expensive) if you want. *Getting to Machu Picchu depends on you: via train which leaves from either POROY or Ollantaytambo. Train cost about 65 dollars for foreigners and less than 4 dollars for locals (including residents irrespective of your nationalities). *Avoid procrastination :)
The biggest asset of this property is the staff. No matter what, they will do their very best to accommodate you. Our room was clean and cozy with warm duvets, a tasty and healthy breakfast on the roof-terrace of the hotel with loads of different breads, fruit and freshly squeezed juices, and all this for a snip. Next to train station and it’s delightful scenic restaurant, and a stone through away from the buses that go up to Machu Picchu!
Machu Picchu
Carlos the owner was incredibly helpful. He met us from the train station and told us everything we needed to know about our trip to Machu Picchu. He got up early to cook us breakfast and looked after our bags whilst we were visiting Machu Picchu itself. The beds were incredibly comfortable, the best that we have slept in during our trip to Peru, and the hotel was warm and safe and had a nice bathroom with good water pressure.
The stuff was amazing. Speacilly the girl Seisa, who studies medicine and work at the same time. She recommended me a lot about Machu Picchu and the Cusco city. I couldn't have breakfast at the day of my Machu Picchu visit. But after that when I came back to the hotel to pick my backpack, Seisa prepared me a breakfast to go. I liked my stay in hotel Encanto.
It looks clean at the first sight, but it’s not. I can feel that they didn’t change the bedding. The bathroom is small, you can’t turn around in the shower room and the water splashes out of the basin. This is the worst hotel I’ve stay in Peru among all six, I count the hours before leaving here.
Aguas Calientes is a very small town, so clearly the hotel was in a good location near to the center. They prepared a nice breakfast for us very early in the morning before going to Machupicchu. The gentleman at the front desk was very nice and helped us book a dinner at a restaurant.
Machu Picchu
It’s a tree cabins style hotel, very small located in a hill in the limits of Aguas Calientes. Was ok as there doesn’t seem to be many other better options for that price, but was a bit disappointing.
DO NOT BOOK UNTIL HOTEL PROVIDES BASIC SECURITY. See comment below. The room was ok but without the indicated view. The room did have a hot tub though so there is that.
This hotel is close to the bus stop of Conssetur. Excellent Breakfast.
Machu Picchu
Hotel staff was very accommodating.
