Granted, no stores nearby as it stands alone but after the hectic walk from Deba, this place is awesome. It is an older well maintained place with much character. My bed was so big! It was a warm night but they had fans. I really loved staying here and I recommend it. Breakfast was included and it was awesome! The staff were very friendly and helpful. COVID situation meant that they needed to know exact time for dinner and breakfast - this worked well - food was nice. The location of the hotel was good being fairly close to Markina. I was walking the Camino, and if you are doing this be aware if walking from town there is a path off the road that takes you to the hotel (so you dont have to walk on road).

It has a captive market of pilgrims travelling the Camino del Norte as there is a shortage of accommodation which is not Refugio or albergue in the region. We have stayed before and enjoyed it. The owner is very welcoming and into locally sourced produce and sustainability. The food is also very good with mainly homemade cuisine.

The food was fresh and we especially enjoyed our breakfast before our long walk. This is a must stay location for anyone in Extebarria.

When we finally arrived we were surprised by the warm greeting we received from Iger and the rest of the staff, including the wonderful bartender and woman originally from the U. S. The bathroom is clean and the shower is great, because it’s a rain forest shower :) It’s 5 minutes by car to the center and 20 minutes by foot. The staff is really friendly as well :)
