San Sebastián is a lively city with beautiful views and plenty of energy. It's perfect for walking around, with many scenic spots and a variety of restaurants to try. If I could do anything differently, I’d avoid bringing a car. Parking was a nightmare— we spent a lot of time searching for spaces and ended up paying for spots in underground parking garages. But overall, I absolutely loved the city, and it exceeded my expectations.

I loved everything. I would love to go back again.
I loved everything. I would love to go back again. I would say it´s a bit more expensive then other places I have visited in Spain. Top notch was to visit the Basque Culinary Center - school for persons in the Gastronomy Industry. Loved the Funicular with the view- over Donostia - amazing. Great food - Pintxos to die for. We took a day trip to France on the Metro from Amara station - super easy. We went to Hendeye in France-took the small boat back to Spain to Hondarribia - such a pretty lovely small town. Boat back to France. So close but so different.

Very touristy, and priced to match.
Very touristy, and priced to match. It feels crowded over the weekends for sure. The locals are not particularly friendly and definitely be on the lookout for pickpockets around the major tourist attractions! The food is decent but not exceptional compared to other cities in the Basque Country.
The old town is pretty, and the beaches are lovely, but overall I'd rather visit Bilbao or Vitoria again before going back to San Sebastian.

I had wanted to visit San Sebastian for some time, I am so glad that I did. The main town is so nice to walk through at any time of the day, but really takes on a special quality during the autumn nights. La Concha beach really has to be experienced, for me it has the same style as an old English Victorian promenade, which is so nice to see. Many days spent walking up and down the waterline on the beach, really pleasant and tranquil.
The main attraction for me though had to be the Old Town. The pinxto bars were all amazing, I don't think that I could say that I had been in a bad one. The food, the beer and the Txakolina wine were all of very high quality, but the price was amazing. One pinxto and one cerveza, less than 5 Euro, really good value for money.
During this trip I spent time in San Sebastian, Santander and Bilbao, highly recommend all three. San Sebastian for the Old Town (also Bilbao Old town is amazing), Santander for the beaches and laid back vibe, Bilbao for the culture and the amazing looking people.

San Sebastain, is really a jewel of a place.
San Sebastain, is really a jewel of a place. I went with high expectations and was not disappointed. The place is small and totally possible to cover by just walking around. The food is as great as all the reviews claim it to be. Ihad some amazing Pintxos and the best and largest Oysters at a place called Kamal in the Viejo part of San Se. The people are amazing, friendly and helpful. The weather was also really good and though I didn't go into the water, I could see many enjoying the experience. My hotel was in the Antiguo part of the city, which is also worth seeing, though the old builldings and most of the bars offering San Sebastian type of Pintxos are on the Viejo side. I would totally recommend a 2-3 day visit to San Sebastian, if anyone is coming to Spain.

we had a very nice stay at la galleria.
It’s located very close to a dog friendly beach (our dog appreciated this very much after 12 hours in the car)
The staff was very friendly and helpful. we were lucky to get a parking space on the hotel’s premises (they are limited, first come first served) but as it was low season we got lucky!
The room was spotless and spacious with two windows. We have been travelling to Spain for years, and this will be one of our favourite stopovers from now on.
Incredible. Best hotel during my 3 weeks in Spain. Loved stepping out of the hotel to a wonderful walking path along the bay, as well as neighborhood walks. Delicious variety of choices for the breakfast buffet. High quality food with many healthy choices. Excellent all around.
Owner of the hotel is a really nice man, very helpful and you can always find agreement with him. Hotel is in very good location, near sea. Rooms are cozy and sweet. Using toilet, you can make arrangement. If I go to Spain, I will return to that hotel.
A really great three star hotel, more like a 4 star. Really good value breakfast, very helpful reception staff and well appointed rooms. It is quite a way out from the old town but parking is pretty cheap if you drive in. Nice views and airy rooms.
Excellent location. Stunning hotel overall right in the hub of the old town. Can’t beat that. Breakfast was outstanding and could not fault anything. 10/10.
