Windsor wasn't exactly a cultural experience, although it did seem to have a diverse population, which was nice to see. We didn't find any hip shopping districts or cool "strips." The view of the river and the Detroit skyline was very cool, and many people were utilizing the riverwalk in the evening after dark. There were plenty of identifiable security personnel who made even the less-lit areas of the park feel relatively safe.

This property is actually in Harrow, about 10 minutes from Essex. Essex itself is a charming small town with a few little eateries. Only sampled the Chinese take-away because I was traveling with my dogs. As this is primarily farm country, the expected farmland is what makes up Essex.

At least say on there website that pool is down and there hallways smells like skunk and weed barely any hot water to take shower stains on ceiling I would never recommend this hotel to anyone we left a day early and can’t get a refund there breakfast isn’t what they show in the picture

I've been vacationing here since I was a child and it never gets old. While the extent of my travels in the area are limited to the Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village, my experience visiting this historic place never dulls. I'll continue to support this living history for as long as I can and perhaps at some point may venture to some other areas within the Detroit area as well

It wasn't far to visit the Point Pelee National Park which we really enjoyed. Hiking the boardwalks, bird watching, walking along the west beaches, taking photos and exploring the old homesteads and marshes was a lot of fun. We were amazed at all of the greenhouses and availability of produce. The many canals were fascinating as I had only seen similar waterways in the Netherlands. North of Belle River is the Lake St. Clair where we visited the harbour and watched the watercraft and barges transporting machinery. The birds are plentiful and there is always something of interest to take note of. This is a lovely area to explore.

Detroit has really evolved over these last five year s or so. I think that people need to go back and revisit this city and see some of the exciting changes that have taken place such as: the River Walk Not to mention, the Little Caesars Arena Ford field, Comerica Park and the Red wings, all in the center of he heart of downtown Detroit.There are still a lot of structures that's being built. The New Hudson building which is now home to GM. Along with a lot of other buildings and restaurants for your culinary experiences.. Detroit is definitely not a sleeper. It's much safer, cleaner and. It's definitely worth the visit.
