Overall, our stay was okay.

Overall, our stay was okay. The house was clean and in a great location, which made it convenient for exploring Monterey. It was also one of the more affordable options in the area, which we appreciated. However, comfort was lacking. The beds and linens were not comfortable, and the pillows were extremely flat and old—we had to message the hosts to request replacements. The couch was also very well-used and had an unpleasant smell. We also heard consistent scratching noises at night in the back bedroom and under the bathtub, which made us suspect there may be an animal living underneath the house. The backyard fence appears to be unstable and close to falling over, and the play structure was much more worn and used than what was shown in the listing photos. While the price and location were positives, the overall comfort and condition of the property especially the beds—could use improvement.

Everything you need for a Roadside Hotel.

Everything you need for a Roadside Hotel. Outside and property was well maintained, clean and landscaped. Room was well appointed and for the most part really clean. I very much appreciate a laminate floor vs. carpet that you know is never clean. Had a a nice sized refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, ice machine. Area has grocery stores and restaurants in the area that you can walk to. (Just avoid the Mexican place across the street, unless you want some stomach upset! Trust me you'll thank me!) Again, was everything you needed and will book again for my Concours stay next year! Thank you!

I liked the proximity to Monterey, Pacific Grove, Carmel-by-...

I liked the proximity to Monterey, Pacific Grove, Carmel-by-the-Sea and the main attractions. The only downside was the particular location of the apartment in an industrial area, which was not apparent from the online external photos of the property. Sand City itself was a good location, less than ten minutes to the Monterey Airport, Fisherman's Wharf area, etc. It is also close to Pacific Grove and Seaside which offer a variety of attractions and eating locations. The weather was absolutely perfect.

We live 1 1/2 hour from Monterey so we go there annually. We love it there. Monterey is a must see if your not from California and are on vacation. Carmel, Big Sur, Santa Cruz, Half Moon Bay & SF are just a short drive away.

Dinner at Passionfish was excellent (the albacore)!

Dinner at Passionfish was excellent (the albacore)! And the walk from Asilomar Beach South to Point Joe was breathtaking! We parked on the roadside and walked across the sand to the boardwalk. We also walked from the hotel to Lovers Point and beyond. The old downtown of Pacific Grove is pretty and fun to explore, and an easy walk from the hotel.

We loved the shopping and restaurants. One of our favorite places was La Bicyclette. It was fabulous! Pebble Beach was beautiful! We used Uber often and it was reliable. We were there on a Friday and loved the Farmers Market. Sunny was very responsive with any questions we had.

I would rather have stayed in Monterey but too expensive. Main street like any other town- fast foods, etc. Great breakfast place: The Breakfast Club. Not cheapest but good food, good service. And freshly made waffles, not from frozen!

Pacific Grove has always been a nice quiet place.

Pacific Grove has always been a nice quiet place. The traffic is horrible, and we spent a lot of time in it instead of enjoying the surrounding. I grew up in Monterey, and I was saddened by all the congestion and traffic.

We enjoyed the unique shops. Galleries and the fine dining . We came to take a tour of Tor House and found it beautiful and educational . If I were you I would eliminate the use of online reservation companies. The only issues I had would have been easily taken care of by a person on site speaking on the phone.
