The hotel is very nice. Clean rooms, good shower, nice breakfast, and above all a very friendly and helpful host, Santiago. He gave perfect advice on things to do, which hikes to do. He also made me a nice breakfast-box for on the road back to Chile, when I had to leave 5AM.

I just spent a few days at De Los Tres hotel from 1 December to 5 December and it was an absolute delight! The staff were top-notch, always willing to lend a hand and chat with you. Juan, in particular, went above and beyond to share his knowledge of local customs. He took the time to explain the ins and outs of mate culture and even helped me cure my calabasa mate - I feel like a true local now! The breakfasts were also a highlight, simple yet exceptional. And if Juan is making his famous orange cake, DO NOT MISS IT! It's a real treat. The hotel's atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, and the location is perfect for exploring the local hiking trails, like Laguna de Los Tres and Loma del Pliegue Tumbado. If you're looking for a warm and welcoming place to stay, De Los Tres hotel is a great choice. Thanks, Juan, for making my stay so special!

El Chalten had some great hikes and there are plenty of opportunities for other activities. We did the 22km Las Tres Lagunas hike which took me 9.5 hours instead of the 8 hours on the official guide. Some great views, though! We also went to the Estancia Bonanza and booked a really good Via Ferrata (a sort of assisted climb) which was a bargain price. They also offered horse back riding and their ranch property is stunning. I wish we'd had time to do that. There was rafting as well.

The hosts were extremely friendly and accommodating.

The hosts were extremely friendly and accommodating. I appreciated their advice to hike up Fitz Roy that same afternoon to avoid rain and gusty winds the next day. I made it up to the summit of Fitz Roy by 7.30pm and returned to camp at 9.30pm. Dinner was tasty; their company was amazing. I had a wonderful evening and the best night of sleep! Woke up for the 6am sunrise and went back to sleep only to wake up to pouring rain at 10am! I so appreciated the camp and its perfect location. Thank you for an experience of a lifetime!

If you enjoy hiking 10–12 hours a day, this place is pure paradise. I have hiked in many parts of the world — the USA, Italy, France, Spain and Croatia — and I can confidently say that nothing compares to this. You simply cannot see landscapes like this anywhere else. We spent four days hiking in El Chaltén and one day visiting the glaciers in El Calafate, which is the ideal amount of time if the weather cooperates. Out of our four hiking days, one was absolutely perfect — we hiked the Laguna de los Tres trail. The other days were so-so, with light rain on and off, which is very common in December here. Still, the rain never stopped us from hiking. Important tips: When it rains in El Chaltén, it rains in town — but it often snows in the mountains. On one trail we encountered nearly a foot of snow. Bring real winter clothing, including a warm jacket, gloves, and a hat. Despite the unpredictable weather, this was an unforgettable experience.

We only stayed for one night and did one hike from El Chalten which was definitely not enough time. We wish we'd spent about 4 or 5 nights there so that we could properly explore the area and get the most out of being in such an incredible place. There are a lot of shops and restaurants there catering to the tourists visiting the area, but it doesn't feel like a tourist trap at all. We ate at La Senyera which was a beautiful little restaurant serving authentic Argentine food. I would definitely recommend going there and ordering one of the stews and the large lemonade.

Nice town. Good food options.

Nice town. Good food options. I think my only critique is there was no good tee shirts and sweatshirts for area people could by as souvenirs. Yes, there were a few...but you could sale a butch if the design and comfort of the gear was good. Shirt's fit were off and really no sweatshirts. Americans eat that stuff up.

We stayed in El Chalten for four nights.

We stayed in El Chalten for four nights. We will stay longer next time. The Laguna De los Tres hike was marvelous and strenuous . We needed a day to rest. I'd stay two more nights to allow for rests between hikes. (we are 57 and active but back to back nine hour hikes was hard)

We absolutely loved staying at Cerro Electrico. The tiny houses have everything you need plus some thoughtful extras like oil, herbs and spices, pasta and rice. It was lovely to come back to our warm, cosy little house after a long day hiking. Frederico and Rebecca were very helpful with information on the local area. If you want to get away from it all, just 15km from El Chalten, this is the spot!

The location was fantastic and Guillermo, Christina and Karina were very welcoming and very helpful on planning treks. Also the food was some of the best we have had in Argentina (and the first glass of wine is included!). Excellent breakfasts and lunch boxes. It is a charming hosteria with nice large rooms and beautiful views.
