Travelers who stayed in Salta near Martin Miguel de Güemes International Airport (SLA) have said good things about Las Tres Marías, Hosteria del Prado, and Hotel Aybal.
I was visiting family but did take a tour to Cafayate which was spectacular. Did a little wine tasting and enjoyed gorgeous mountain views much like what you'd see in Utah. The Center of town is very colonial with a ton of cafes and shops.
A great city to visit! Full of history and great eateries. Little gems to be found everywhere, just take a walk. Do not miss a night at one of the many Peňa bars. If around in April do not miss the Guemes festival - it is an experience and a half and the horses amazing to see.
Just a handful of things to do or see in Salta. But, it is a good jumping off point to surrounding attractions such as Cafayate/the Quebrada (southwest) Cachi (west) or Purmamarca/Tilcara (north). Definitely make a trip to Cafayate for bodega tours/wine tastings, hiking in the mountains scenery and a wonderful town square with lots of nightlife. Also, lunch at the La Estancia de Cafayate restaurant. The drive through the Quebrada (canyon) is a must do/see with stops at El Diablo Gargantum (Devils Throat), the Ampitheatre and to take pictures/videos.
It offers a great and quick view of the regional culture. The Museums around the plaza are very good! We did not have time to go to Cafayate (8 hours transport back and forth) but we bought wines and would prioritize it next time, the same with the Tren de las nubes. Empanadas and bife de chorizo were our favorites dishes. We ate around the plaza and went very well, don't remember the names of the restaurants, but one is located in front of the Uruburo museum on the Caseros street.
Busy and active old town. Some quaint interesting areas around the Pl;aza 9 de Julio. The MAAM museum is a must see for the three Inca children mummies that were found unearthed in 1999 in the western part of the province.
Beautiful old colonial architecture, courteous people, wonderful museums, lots of music, good food, interesting handicraft shopping. I was not quite prepared for the stifling, humid heat, but it was worth it.
After 2 weeks in Argentina this is definitely the best hotel we stayed in. We had a room with 3 beds, huge room, great view. They have a rooftop with 360° view that's is open on weekends, but we were there mid week, they offered to open it especially for us, the staff was really nice and helpful the entire time. Normal continental breakfast. The hotel is only 2 years old and everything is nice and clean!
Salta
Excellent location near bus station, cable car & city centre. Best breakfast we have had in 6 weeks in Argentina including tasty home made bread, scrambled eggs & mugs! Air con & hot, powerful shower. Comfortable bed. Very friendly, helpful hosts. Delighted to have stayed there. Highly recommend it.
Salta
Everything was perfect about this apartment! Balcony & patio with fabulous views over Salta, garden with pool, very comfortable and lovingly indoors. Pablo, thank you so much for letting us stay at your wonderful abode! The photos really didn’t do this wonderful apartment justice!
The hotel is located just off the busy part, but everything is walkable. The family suites are huge and well maintained. The front desk folks are nice and helpful. Breakfast is served in room as per choices made the previous night. We wish we had stayed a little more here!
The staff at Ayres de Salta were friendly and helpful. We visited during the busy Semana Santa, and they were able to find an extra cot for our room because I had mistakenly booked to small of a room. Room was typical hotel style room, but clean and quiet.
So it’s not my first time in selina, been to a couple and as always it delivered. However this time was exceptional. Guille and the staff were so kind and helpful, the facilities were great and the room too. definitely the best place to stay in salta.
The location could not be better. It is in front of Saltas main square. If you travel by car there is a parking lot half a block from the hotel (you must pay extra 800 Argentinian pesos, about 5 USD).
Salta
Great stay. Very inexpensive and great staff. Very good location and very close to the centre of town. Great air conditioner. Added bonus of splash pool for cooling down. Great trip to Argentina.
Great location. Good front desk staff. Great potential as a boutique hotel. However, the quality of the rooms are not as the images show. They have gotten old and need repairs.
This hotel is one of the nicest I’ve had the pleasure of staying at. The building is beautiful and the staff were extremely helpful and courteous.
Nice hotel, right next to the plaza of Salta. Comfortable room, with a good bed and bathroom. Good breakfast with many options.
Friendly staff, hotel located right in the center of Salta. Very clean and spacious rooms
breakfast very good for what you can expect in Argentina
Salta
The staff where amazing, and we enjoyed are stay
The stay in la candela overachieved any expectations to the fullest. We got hte little house in the garden with direct access to pool and garden, had massive bathroom with shower and free-standing bathtub (excellent for two kids), a lot of space and room to play. The breakfast was excellent and plentiful, staff was just lovely and helpful for whatever needed. Its location is in a very cute, trendy and vibrating neighborhood of Salta, just few squares from main plaza. The area is very cool and trendy with many little shops and bars and restaurants. The pool has a whole shallow area for little kids to play in save. There is free parking on a closed-parking lot and we felt simply comfortable, well taken care off by Diego and his crew ! Thank you guys so much and wishing you all well.
- The individual boutique style which makes it a very cozy place - the super helpful and super friendly staff which helped us with a lot of things (e.g. rental car, trips, etc.) - the nice view over the city - the lovely breakfast (with a view) - the area of the hotel is very quiet and relaxing (the main square is a 20min walk away, but we love to walk the city / taxi is also pretty cheap)
centrally located - downtown is within walking distance and it´s close to a number of good restaurants for evening dinner. Each room has a unique design and decorated with impeccable taste. Good wifi and excellent breakfast
