It's our 4th time at the place - but the hotel has been renovated to it's core - the architect with the input from a perfectionist team - has created a combination of functional modern with local most amazing wooden Austrian flair. The boutique hotel is best located - facing a panoramic mountain view or the golf course. The breakfast is high quality with great choices for everyone. The rooms - with very nice balcony - are bigger than before and super comfy and beautiful. The Spa is offering all you need, brand new and very spacious. All facilities are well thought through - even plenty of storage for bikes, golf bags or skies. Starting now you can even enjoy a restaurant service. And not to forget the entire team - making the experience like home away from home. We will be back again !

The staff were exceptionally amazing, the service was superb with delicious breakfast every morning. Additionally, the sauna and pool facilities were very well maintained. Overall, perfect for a short winter get away. We would highly recommend this hotel to everyone.

The rooms were very clean and spacious with lots of amenities including spa towels, spare rucksack and walking sticks for anyone hiking the local national park. It’s a very comfortable room and we had a double aspect and balcony which was lovely to admire the view of the mountains. The staff were exceptional in making our stay with them the best it could be. The food is exceptional and I highly encourage booking half board as you will not regret it. The breakfast is varied for all diets and the quality of ingredients is extremely good. If staying for dinner you will get a menu at breakfast for dinner with 4 choices of main dinner. The choice of buffet starter is delicious and then there is always a soup choice too. I absolutely loved the soups such as tomato consommé. Then the main dinners and desserts are excellent, I honestly cannot speak highly enough about how great the restaurant is, the creativity of the dishes, flavours and presentation are exceptional. Dishes such as the dessert of lingonberry pancakes with sour ice and local wild blueberries had us talking how delicious it was several times the next day! Then other thoughtful touches like a daily MorganPost newsletter giving weather predictions, hiking routes and things to do as well as offers from the spa were really appreciated. Overall I would highly recommend staying at this lovely hotel. The quality of everything from the amenities, the cleanliness, the staff and restaurant are excellent. We had to leave to get our flight before breakfast started and this came up just by chance in a conversation and we were immediately invited to the restaurant thirty minutes early so as not to miss out on breakfast before our journey. You would not get this from a big chain of hotels and shows just how much guests are valued at the Sonnerhof.

    Pertisau is the location for the (fictional) Chalet School (the first book, The School at the Chalet, was published 100 years ago in 1925), so anyone who has read the books will find it instantly recognisable, even today. Even without that link, the Achensee is a wonderful base in which to spend time in the Austrian alps, with plenty to do and see in summer. There are fantastic walks in the area and hotels and guesthouses offer a free travel card which can be upgraded for less than 100 euros to a week-long holiday card offering free travel on the ferries, cable cars and the famous Achenseebahn, as well as free entries to the local museums in Pertisau, Achenkirche and Maurach.

    A beautiful unspoiled natural area, lovely welcoming people. The scenery is so stunning. So few British people seem to visit and we don’t understand why! It was lovely in summer, swimming in the lake, and in winter we returned for walking and skiing.

    It is a lovely mountain resort town, on the lake but backing onto impressive mountains. There is a cable car to take you to the top of one of the mountains if you don't fancy, or are not up to walking it!

    Pertisau is a small Austrian town on the Achensee.

    Pertisau is a small Austrian town on the Achensee. It is very beautiful, very clean. One can walk to restaurants, mountain lifts, shops and lakeside. There are several hikes up the mountains and around the lake that are fun for fit individuals. The boat rides provide access to beautiful vistas, as well as transportation to and from points of interest on the lake. A two-day visit can be rewarding. I've also stayed in Achenkirch and Maurach on Lake Achensee, but Pertisau is my favorite.

    The walk along the lake edge and rides on the boats were fantastic and I highly recommend. Also the Rofan and Barenbad cable cars were super even if it is still summery and there is no snow, there are plenty of opportunities for some great walking or hiking. Otherwise it is the perfect place just to kick back and relax enjoying the mountain and lake views. The Achensee Tourist Pass is good value for money too so make sure you get a card at your hotel and then get the upgrade for approx 80 euro that gives you free transport, free boat rides and free rides on the gondolas.

    Pertisau is a beautiful location.

    Pertisau is a beautiful location. It is suitable for people of all ages and there are a wide range of activities for the active and those wishing for a more relaxing visit. There are a multitude of walking and hiking routes suitable for those wishing to reach summits or for those wishing to see the lake or take in the marvelous woodlands and pastures. We enjoyed the varied hiking , walking the lake side paths , cycling which can be a woodland route saunter or a mountain adventure. To access and enjoy the area there are buses, pleasure boats ,bikes and lifts. There are a few restaurants and hotels to eat. We were self catering and mainly ate in. We love Pertisau for the mountain walks the wonderful woodland and pastures we have returned revitalised , fit and full of marvelous memories.

    Given the location, a minute away from the lake, the Alpenrose offers great value for money. Rooms are comfortable and well appointed (local Steinoil products in the bathrooms). Excellent choice of breakfast offerings and the half board dinner is also very good. Be aware that the restaurant is closed on Sundays but there are other options around the village. There is a small spa area in the apartment building connected to the hotel, Daniel, the masseuse, is excellent.

    It was amazing from start to finish . The location right on the lake was the high point making the wellness area jaw dropping . The staff were amazing and a special thanks the night reception man who even offered us his dinner as we arrived very late and very hungry !!! ( we graciously declined ) and the bottle of pink Prosecco and chocolates recognising my birthday??!!!!! Fantastic hotel ❤️ hopefully we are lucky enough we are able to return

    The hotel reception area and restaurant are lovely - very traditional Tirolean. We had a standard double room that had an extra space for sitting - lovely. The bed was very comfy and the room was very clean. Dinner and breakfast was delicious and the service was super. We had a view of the lake and the mountains which was fabulous.
