I loved everything about the hotel! From the moment i arrived, the staff were helpful with the early check in; the property location is amazing, the restaurant is affordable and serves delicious food; the spa is gorgeous and a big plus especially when you spend your evenings at the property. and the magnificent views of the mountains are unbeatable!

We liked the size of the room, the separate beds in the children's room, the big balcony and the amazing view from the balcony. Also, we liked the complimentary drinks, coffee and tea and the family cozy lobby area where you can relax for a while with a good book. Special thanks to the friendly receptionist, who put our stuff in their fridge at the reception, since the room had none.

Perfect location: I came by train for a 5-day skiing trip. It takes only 4 min. on foot to reach the hotel from the train station, and then a 3 min. walk from the hotel to the cable car. Great, quickly served breakfasts with fresh ingredients and tasty coffee. Well-equipped and clean sauna with a tank on the rooftop A very nice concept of a quiet lounge with comfortable beds and sofas, where you can chill, read and enjoy free beverages (variety of teas, water). The room was clean, spacious and just fine for me.

Mountain Paradise in Salzburg Province

A paradise in the Austrian state of Salzburg, Zell am See is located along the shores of the Zell Lake and surrounded by mountains like the 2000-metre high Schmittenhöhe. It is an important ski centre in the winter and a hiking and mountain-biking paradise during summer.

The area has been occupied since Roman times, but the village was founded around the year 740 by the order of Bishop Johannes I of Salzburg. The picturesque Old Town includes typical Alpine style buildings, as well as the oldest building of the region, St. Hippolyte's Church. The Austrian area of Zell am See offers a wide range of hotels, B&B’s, apartments, and guest houses.

The leisure centre has a covered pool, a sauna and steam bath, and special facilities for kids. Zell am See is a gateway to the Hohe Tauern National Park, the biggest of the Alps and Austria’s oldest.

The nearby town of Kaprun is home to the 12th-century Kaprun Castle and the Kitzsteinhorn glacier. Salzburg Airport is 100 km away, while Sixt Innsbruck Airport is 150 km away. Would advise when booking accommodation that you book somewhere that includes the summer card as this gives you free access to all the gondolas in the area and free travel on local buses and trains plus discounted entry to many activities and saves you a lot of money.

    You can see a lot of facilities with the summer card. A lot to do for families ( hiking, cycling, rafting, bathing, swimming, sightseeing,visiting museums ). The food and drinks in restaurants are expensive, so it’s better to have food included in the hotel price or buy it in the store.

    It's the right midpoint between the regions of Leogang and...

    It's the right midpoint between the regions of Leogang and Saalbach-Hinterglemm, if you are into mountain biking, and the Grosser Donnerkogel, if you are into via ferratas. Being in Zell am See gave us the possibility to do multiple things withing a 1h driving radius.

    Zell am See is rightly popular because it is uperbly located on the most beautiful lake, with mountain scenery that changes with the light throughout the day. it is also makes an excellent centre for touring. special mention must be made of the Kaprun Glacier and the Kaprun Reservoir. Simply unmissable.

    Views of the lake with the best mountain backgrounds are from the other end of the lake - the most northerly. We didn't do it, but it looks like a good place to hire bikes or electric bikes to see more of the lakeside.

    Zell am See is a beautiful place and we have stayed there many times over 40 years. We were unaware that the week we chose this trip was a mid season break and nearly all facilities and services in the town were closed. It was like a ghost town, with limited amenities and very few visitors. WHY WERE WE NOT TOLD THIS BY THE HOTEL WHEN WE BOOKED!!!!!!

    The staff really went above and beyond, they were all so helpful and friendly especially Florian, Monika and Laura. The accommodation was very clean and the rooms comfortable having just been refurbished. Breakfast was good and the outdoor pool and spa area were excellent. Location was perfect and the parking was great. My wife and I had a great time and will be back soon. The hotel is very well situated for the beautiful town of Zell am See and surrounding area.

    A lovely traditional Austrian house with apartments. Spacious room with comfy beds. A short walk from shops, bars and the ski bus. Ideally located for the train station. Some reviews mention road noise but we did not find this intrusive and it’s excellent value for what you get.

    Incredible stay at the hotel, it felt like a dream to wake up with the views from 2.000m above Zell am see. We loved every seconds. Many beautiful hikes on the mountain, the cable car passes included in the stay, lovely breakfast buffet. The room was incredibly beautiful.
