Bicheno by the Bay offers self-contained holiday cottages, most with Tasman Sea views. The decor and fittings were beautiful and I really loved the colour scheme and furniture. The kitchen was very well equipped and our villa was so spacious. It was a delight to spend our time in such a lovely place. We also had a large deck area to enjoy the view of the trees within the grounds and the sea beyond.
Set on 4 acres of native coastal gardens, Sandpiper Cottages offers pet friendly beachfront accommodation just a short walk through sand dunes to beautiful Denison Beach. Everything else was fabulous and very comfortable. Loved the wood burning fire inside. Beautiful beach right in front of the accommodation. The cottage was very well equipped with kitchenware. The bed was very comfortable and foods provided for breakfast were good. Each of the cottages are screened by trees which offer good privacy.
Located on 6.5 acres, Bicheno East Coast Holiday Park features accommodations with limited free WiFi and free on-site parking. All accommodations offers a patio, a TV and a kitchenette. Brilliant location, right in the centre of Bicheno allowing you to explore everything Bicheno has to offer on foot. Our accommodation exceeded our expectations and had everything we needed. would definitely stay again.
Located in Bicheno, a 5-minute walk from Bicheno Beach, The Hub Bicheno has accommodations with free WiFi and free private parking. Lovely room and sparkling clean! We found the bed extremely comfortable. Location was fantastic and breakfast delivered from the bakery next door was a treat! Amazing value for the price. Would certainly stay here again next time I am in Bicheno!
Offering free on-site parking, Bicheno Backpackers is 5 minutes' walk from the town center. It offers 2 fully equipped kitchens and an outdoor area. Guests enjoy free WiFi. Incredible value for money. Clean rooms and shower, friendly guests an incredible shared view by the living area. Free parking available, few steps away from market, pharmacy and other commerce, few minutes walk from Bicheno Blowhole. Truly recommended.
Set in beautiful gardens in a quiet location, Wintersun Gardens Motel offers comfortable rooms with private bathroom, flat-screen TV and DVD player. Redbill Beach is just a 3-minute walk away. Location was lovely and quiet and the gardens were lovely
Very expensive place to visit. Everything especially food is overpriced. Could not believe you cannot get a meal or buy takeaways after 7pm. Only one place open, mostly all eateries closed by 6pm. The scenery is beautiful but that's about it. Probably the least favorite place visited in Tasmania.
Great little seaside town. The beach is lovely (although a wet suit is advisable). There is a shopping centre and petrol station. The Lobster Shack has some of the best seafood in Tasmania and is just up the road from the Bicheno blowhole. There are local wilderness reserves with walking tracks. A few kilometres up the road you can get the best oysters at Lease 65 at St Helen’s or eat at The Wharf restaurant right on the water at St Helen’s. Just to the south is Cole’s Bay where you can take a cruise around the Freycinet peninsula.
The pictures 📸 on the wintersun Gardens website are not completely depicted of the rooms we were in, my mother is elderly and we were stuck in a dingy corner room with not much room at the entrance, but the Lady at reception was so so lovely 😀
The whalers lookout was great. Loved a long walk along Denison Beach. Great bushwalk at Douglas Appsley Gorge. Dinner at the Lobster Shack on waterfront....excellent fresh seafood locally caught. Penguins along the esplanade after dusk. Lovely quiet seaside town. Beautiful white beaches. Some rare flora to be seen at Whalers lookout.
Bicheno Backpackers base. The General Store! A must immersion. Library (free wifi and computer access). Community Garden and shop again a must see. Bespoke goods. Post office has most banking. No information centre, So the General store and Post office for advice. Active community. Friendly, informed and helpful. Volunteers everywhere. Drop in to all the local businesses worth the cruise down the main st (Burgess) and drop in to the local shops. Bakery closes at 3 pm daily, so get bread early. Farmers market van every Saturday, (opp. Church Even in winter when the market is closed.) Fresh rich fruit and vegetables taste is great! There is an IGA supermarket. Recommend lunch at The Merchant Navy park at the end of Burgess St. Peaceful and good for photo op. Loved Bicheno. Want to visit again.
LOved the versatility of the beaches. THE GENERAL STORE IN THE MAIN STREET IS WELL WORTH A VISIT. The penguins were well worth the trip, as they are clearly visible on the islands , very close to the shoreline.
We stayed for two night but wish we stayed longer! Glorious place! Host Karen was super friendly and ensured we were well looked after. The apartment was gorgeous! It was perfect and had everything we needed. The apartment is in walking distance of everything you need! Including the local attractions. This place was superb! And we will definitely be staying here again when we return to Tasmania - highly recommend!
This place was absolutely fantastic. Best Accomm we have had on our Tasmanian trip. You name it, it's there. Super clean, warm and comfortable. The owner has thought of absolutely everything! The views were absolutely amazing. We wanted to stay longer, but couldn't. Just book it! Thank you Gill. Fantastic, we will definately promote your accomm.
Beautiful views from this lovely beach house. The owners leave lots of fantastic information and everything you would need to help you have a wonderful stay. The house is further away from Bicheno than we expected which for a family holiday did mean quite a bit of driving.
My daughter had stayed here about 7 years ago and now we were back on a family holiday. The standard had gone down hill, some of the features in the rooms were not suitable for families and some rooms were dated. The staff had no idea how to attract the penguins.
Incredible value for money. Clean rooms and shower, friendly guests an incredible shared view by the living area. Free parking available, few steps away from market, pharmacy and other commerce, few minutes walk from Bicheno Blowhole. Truly recommended.
Beautiful view of the water, perfect little balcony for a drink. Comfy bed and couch. Food at the pub is great! The staff are awesome, friendly and helpful with late check-ins. Will be staying here for our next trip to Bicheno
Very quiet place with great views to the sea. I drove all around Tasmania and Beachend was our favourite. The seafood was the best we had, at The Lobster Shack. Staff very friendly and Very informative regarding our stay.
Fab location with penguins doing something in the back garden ! Probably the best yet in Tasmania well equipped and fantastic views and spacious layout
Bicheno bell had everything we needed and is a great location. The freshly baked bread and food was a lovely addition and so delicious!
Staff helpful, position great, clean and comfortable. It is a cabin so we knew we were not going to have five star hotel.
Location was ideal to get around Bicheno
Everything else was fabulous and very comfortable. Loved the wood burning fire inside. Beautiful beach right in front of the accommodation. The cottage was very well equipped with kitchenware. The bed was very comfortable and foods provided for breakfast were good. Each of the cottages are screened by trees which offer good privacy.
I can't say enough how much we loved our stay here and wished it was longer. The house is amazing and has everything you could need. The hosts were very easy to communicate with. The views were spectacular. And the penguins!! They have nests in the front yard and under the driveway and we loved watching them.
the view, space, outdoor, of course bathroom, kitchen and bedroom - exceptional.
Location was lovely and quiet and the gardens were lovely
Right by the beach, beautiful view.
