The bundaberg rum distillery is awesome, definitely book a tour if you go there! Was interesting learning how they make rum! Lots to see and do, we were there one and a half days and had so much we still wanted to do! We'd go back!
Wonderful area, we stayed for a few days and went snorkelling at Lady Musgrave. Great people , had so much fun did not want to come home. Getting around was very easy. The selection of cafes and restaurants was really good.
Interesting town that has much more to offer than what we initially thought. Good choices of restaurants, easy to drive in, even on the left side of the road! Beaches, excursions, tours all nearby. Pappar’Delle Italian Restaurant had good salad, pizza and an interesting menu. Lady Musgrave Experience snorkeling adventure to the Great Barrier Reef is worth every penny. Mon Repo Turtle Sanctuary was an experience that is inexpensive and memorable (watching baby turtles launch into the ocean at night).
Bundaberg is quickly becoming my home away from home, Only been there twice both times the urge not to come back to brisbane is real... its a very relaxed lifestyle, everyone is friendly, always willing to point you in the right direction. I never felt like a tourist..
What a lovely city to visit. Civic pride is apparent. Both Bundaberg city and the surrounding areas have a truly fascinating history which is easily explored. The Botanic Gardens are something to behold and a must visit for a Sunday train ride or a visit to the Hinkler Aviation Museum. Ocean-side towns are a short drive from Bundaberg and demand a visit. Call in to a tourist information centre and be amazed at the number of small businesses in and around Bundaberg offering unique experiences not found elsewhere. Go for coffee at Bargara. The display in the Amandine Lavendar Farm cottage near Bargara is something to see. See HMAS Tobruk before she becomes a superb underwater dive site.
We packed several things into our one day stay. We saw baby turtles hatching on the beach at Mon Repos, toured the Bundaberg Rum distillery, which had a brand-new tourist facility (with free samples after the tour), dropped in at the Coopers (barrel making workshop near the distillery), and made a quick stop at the Bundaberg Barrel, where my new favorite drink, ginger beer, is made. Oh, also ate at Indulge in town. Loved the sweet potato fries but their fish taco was huge (too much for me) and technically was more of a fish burrito. I wish we could have learned more about the sugar cane history but we just ran out of time as on a strict time schedule. Worth the detour!!

The couple who own the hotel were amazing and helpful. We unfortunately didn't get to Bundaberg until late in the evening on our first night but they were so brill to allow us to have late check-in. The room is small but perfect for what we wanted and had facilities for food and a fab shower and comfy bed. On our second night I even got a saucepan from Karen to make egg (sounds simple but was such a nice touch)

Staff were friendly and very helpful. Dinner was typical country size and tasted great. Locals at the bar were entertaining and liked a chat. Quiet area & cheap room rates. Breakfast at the local cafe 2 doors away was lovely Oddities. If we're in the area we would stay again. Central to the CBD and to drive out to Gin Gin.

Check in and customer service was super friendly and if I hadn't of been a local previously was offered direction and local services . Cleanliness of unit was fantastic which is great . But sadly I need somewhere I can have a good night sleep and not wake up sore and somewhere where kids can be kids and enjoy caravan parks .

Our stay was only overnight but it was perfect - a friendly welcome, plenty of home away from home amenities (including a bottle of chilled wine), and very clean and comfortable all round. Our little dog was happy to be able to explore the garden too :) Highly recommended for a Bundaberg stay.

Location good, close to great cafes (Oodie's Cafe around the corner, 2 min walk), right near the main Bundaberg town area, but slightly off the main road so fairly quiet. Amazing value for money considering the size of the room, facilities provided, and location.
