Kernow is one of the nicest places we’ve stayed at, especially given the price point. The owner, Vanessa, was super friendly - she met us at the gate and took us to the room. The room had everything we might need, had lots of space, and was very comfortable. Lots of nice little touches, like the cereal and yogurt for breakfast and Netflix on the TVs. We enjoyed walking around the grounds at sunset, watching the wallabies and birds.

The owner of the property was amazing! The room was spacious and had everything we needed. It was out of town a little bit which was great and was very quiet. Would highly recommend this place to anyone regardless of how long you are staying. It has a pool as well as play equipment for kids.

Highly recommend visiting the Texas Longhorns and the Venus Gold Battery. We did both the Battery tour and the gold panning. The times are a bit weird to line up, it's a bit confusing but once we got it sorted, our guide Josh was amazing. Mick & Lynda at the Texas Longhorns were outstanding. The meal at The Rix was also incredible, but you must book ahead. Difficult to find a place to eat on Friday night as all the pubs were absolutely chockers, and ended up having to go to Red Rooster. Also highly recommend staying at Kernow. Beautiful suites, such a quiet and peaceful property. After doing these activities, I feel no need to go back to Charters Towers. I've seen it, enjoyed it, but nothing to keep me as a return traveller.

Fantastic tour at Texas Longhorn station.

Fantastic tour at Texas Longhorn station. Up close to amazing animals and very informative. Highly recommended. Interesting tour at Venus Gold battery. This tour takes you back to the Gold rush and processing era. 1872. Very interesting. Great views of Charters Towers from Tower Hill. Had a delicious, perfectly cooked steak at the Sovereign Hotel. Wonderful accommodation at Kernow.

No attendant present at Check-in at 4pm. Couldn't find anyone to serve me. Determined to find alternative accommodation and went to another major hotel WHICH WAS attended. That attendant said someone should have been at CTM and rang him. CTM attendant turned up and l finally checked in.

Clean and tidy town, shopping was made easy with the late close on Friday night. I travelled with a work colleague, and we had an early start on Saturday morning. The bedding in the cabin made for a very relaxing sleep. I will be returning in about 4 weeks' time, and we will be booking another cabin.

Absolutely loved Charters Towers.

Absolutely loved Charters Towers. From the little cafe’s and country hospitality to taking a drive to the weir and exploring the city we loved it. We did the Long Horn tour, took dinner up to the lookout and saw the rock wallabies. During the day we checked out the war bunkers and walked the town. Checked out the wall of history and the big world map. All the old buildings are beautiful. Such great mining history. Would definitely recommend stopping in for a few nights.

Beautiful clean & tidy little town with many beautiful old heritage buildings and so much history to explore. The old Stock Exchange Arcade, Towers Hill Lookout with the World War II Bunkers & the Venus Gold Battery are but a few.

The room was extremely thoughtful. Attention to detail was superb. Very much reminded me of boutique stays in the UK and Europe . This stay was definitely one of my favourites in Australia in the past five years. Location is blah, but the accomodation exceeds any expectation for Charters Towers.

Really friendly staff. Family business. Very family oriented. Issues with no TV remote solved quickly. Previous guest had mistakenly taken with them. Value for money was great. Loved the chooks wandering around and lovely gardens. On main road into Charters Towers from Townsville.
