Many families visiting Cairns loved staying at Pullman Reef Hotel Casino, Crystalbrook Riley, and Crystalbrook Flynn.
Crystalbrook Riley, Shangri-La The Marina, Cairns, and Cairns Plaza Hotel got great room view-related reviews from travelers in Cairns.
Cairns is a great launch pad for the Daintree, the Atherton table lands, the reef and beaches and activities to both the south and north. There is so much to see and do in the region and we’d be keen to get back and take in more using Cairns as a base for day trips or as a return point for longer ventures away.
Used to love Cairns, but all a bit sad now. Many shops shut, lagoon pool emptied presume for maintenance.Eating out very expensive. You really need a car, this was our first holiday without one in Cairns, lucky we hired a car from Cruising for 3day trip to Mission Beach and Paronella Park, the rate was good and zi regret not extending even though parking is expensive Sorry Cairns but it would have been cheaper and better to go to Thailand this time.
Used local buses and taxis to get around. Every driver was friendly and knowledgeable about the area. There were lots of great tours available. We went to Kuranda scenic railway and skyrail, city sights tour, Australian armour and artillery museum. Great pubs to eat in were Dunwoody's and Cock and Bull. Friendly locals who could not do enough to advise and help us.
We had 5 nights in Cains, and saw lots. I absolutely loved the Kuranda Tour (up with the Sky Rail, walk around Kuranda, Rain forestation with Army Duck Drive and Aboriginal Dance etc as well as lunch, coming back with the Scenic Railway). We then also did 2 Island Trips, one to Green Island the other to Fitzroy Island. Fitzroy Island was amazing for snorkelling, we saw lots of colourful fish, coral as well as green turtles. Green Island was not as good for snorkelling, possibly because of the low tide?? Definitely didn't see as much there. Walking around Green Island was very nice. I would like to do all the Fitzroy Island Hikes as well, unfortunately I had a sore foot but definitely next time :) I definitely highly recommend Cairns for any age group. Cairns itself is such a beautiful coastal town with yummy restaurants along the pier. Book tours early enough, since they get booked out very quickly!
We loved Cairns. It was very clean and tidy. Workers were out early every morning making sure everything was perfect. There is so much to do and see. Lots of restaurants and cafes. Everyone we tried was good.
id avoid cairns all together go some where else and spend your hard earned money i wish i didgo into the township for a walk and listen to cll out to each other from street to street and couples abusing each other constantlly push bike riders kicking over rubbish bins for fun give it a miss or stay in the high end of cairns. deffinatley not food takeaway is tasteless where we stayed the night markets on the esplanarde were only shops open late not worth the walk the lagoon was being worked on while we were there another dissapointment
Cairns
Terrible - do not stay here with family ! It’s loud, beds are uncomfortable, sketchy people everywhere!!! Loud music till early hours of morning. Costs the same as a resort as a family room there. Save yourself money and pay less at cairns resort. They say it’s not a party place, don’t believe it. My children could not sleep. To be honest, I couldn’t. I thought the floor was okay (we checked in and let the kids on the floor, after playing for 3 mins their feet were black ! From the inside hotel room! ) ridiculous. I could have vomited
As a local in Cairns, I booked The Benson Hotel for my daughter and her 3 friends, the location was perfect as they were attending a function close by, within walking distance to many restaurants and shops. The room was very clean and spacious, beds very comfortable. Room was located on the 7th floor with lovely views. The staff at reception were very welcoming and friendly, breakfast was a bonus at no extra cost - which was unexpected, but very much appreciated. This hotel is on our list to stay again.
We spent three nights in a double room with kitchen. You can tell that the hotel is getting a bit old, the rooms are not completely renovated. Everything was very clean and the staff is very friendly. A very nice garden and pool possibility in the hotel. On foot you walk over the esplanade about 20 to 25 minutes in the city center to Cairns. Overall, a relatively good stay.
Location was great. Just across the street from a large shopping centre and within easy walking distance to restaurants and the esplanade. Also close to Rustys Market and not far from the night markets. We caught the Spirit of Queensland to Cairns and it was only a very short walk from the train station to the hotel. Apartment was clean and the beds were very comfortable.
We don’t have the chance to stay in this hotel as they become an isolated hotel in the city. However, they relocated us in one of the luxury hotel in Cairns. They most likely upgraded our accomodation and paid more than 80% of the hotel rate. We couldn’t be more happier and blessed to be able to experience to stayed in five star hotel. Thankyou so much Ibis Styles :)
Parking was great, apartments were open-plan and spacious for a 3 bedroom apartment. Kitchen was well stocked with utensils and crockery. Beds were extremely comfortable. TV in the main bedroom was much appreciated. Redlynch location was great. Our family have stayed in Cairns at Christmas time for the last 6 years and Valle Vista was up there amongst the best!
This Hotel is in a great position to the city and casino. The breakfast was great. The staff were friendly and the room has all the nice things you would expect in 5 star room however our particular room was showing its age. I don't think I would stay here again as I think there are newer hotels which would be better value for the money.
Cairns
Jackie met us on arrival, she was very friendly and gave us a tour of the complex. The unit is bright and very clean. The kitchenette has good facilities. The location was perfect for us:- walking to distance to Cairns Central, the city, the esplanade, the waterfront and restaurants. The unit is good value of money.
The room was huge! So we could easy spread out and not trip over each other or luggage. We did have a nice view of the water. Also, really great location on the esplanade. You can easy walk anywhere. Convenient to have breakfast at the restaurant in the hotel as well.
I love the vibe of Coral Tree. Not sure why. Its just a great little hotel. I loved meeting the real locals in the street out front. There is a real authenticity about this part of Cairns city - not just the tourist side. Mind you, the tourist side is quite nearby.
Cairns
The best apartments available in the city of Cairns - family-friendly from young to old. Super happy with the service and rooms provided at Vision Apartments. Rachel Maddocks at reception is always there with a smile and will provide top quality customer service.
The apartment was absolute luxury. We are so glad that we decided to go with this versus hiring a hotel room. There was enough room for the whole family and the beds were the most comfortable we have ever slept on.
Great location. Walking distance to cairns central, restaurants and the pools on the esplanade. Comfortable, clean and well priced. Dual key rooms made it spacious enough equivalent of a 2 brm apartment with kids.
Cairns
Is located in Stratford which is a small village 4k from Cairns esplanade. Good public transport. Frendly helpfully staff. The local pubs and restaurants are good value and an easy walk, kid frendly.
My husband and I felt very comfortable and secure at Pullmancairnsinternational. We found the restaurants near by and we walked down to the Esplanade and city which is not far from the hotel.
good sized comfortable private room for couple! showers were clean, staff very helpful and friendly, bar cheap good food and drinks! would stay here if comin to cairns
The facilities were of an excellent standard, in keeping with a luxury hotel in this price bracket. Fresh, clean and friendly.
Apartments are clean and spacious. So centrally located to the cairns esplanade. Next door to the night markets.
Everything about the stay was awesome. The room was super comfy and clean.Lots of amenities. Everything you need is inside the compound which is amazing.Food from the cafe was delicious.Quiet neibourhood with lots of families around . I would definitely recommend staying here!
I liked that the resort was a one stop shop when it came to travel. Free parking, 3 different pools depending on your preference, a restaurant that you could dine in from 6:30 until late and of course happy hour.
