I was there for the lantern parade. Lismore turned it on. All shops including art gallery were open til late The street stalls provided feasts fir the eyes and tge stomach. Lismore is still recovering in oarts from dreadful floods of several years ago but the indomitable spirit of the community and the large country town feel of the "city" are probably symbolic of Australian medium size Regional centres. There are some fantastic cafes open for business.
There are some fantastic cafes open for business. The food at Dark Horse Espresso was fabulous. The locals are absolutely amazing and Lismore deserves a visit. The manager/owner, Mark, is very helpful and considerate and made our visit very pleasant. Brekkie comprises of a variety of cereals, fruit, toast and jam where you help yourself but Mark cleans up after you which was a big plus. As the Wilson was affected by the 2022 Lismore floods, we were very fortunate that the Motel was open. Obviously renovations are on going, but we had a lovely comfortable room and bed, and the bathroom facilities were great. Seems some poetic licence has been used with the present advertising and room photos.
