Featuring a tropical courtyard with swimming pool and outdoor entertaining area with BBQ facilities, Ballina Homestead Motel is centrally located within walking distance to the local sports club,... The staff were very friendly and accommodating. I arrived very early for my booking and was going to ask if I could just leave my luggage and have a look around town until my room was ready, however they have a delicious cafe attached to the Motel so I grabbed something to eat and then the owner informed me they had my room ready early so I could go in. Exceptional service! The rooms were very clean and fresh and the motel is in a great spot close to a Shopping Centre, A Club, some restaurants and a very short taxi ride to the airport. The cafe is open for breakfast and lunch and the food and coffee is fantastic. Overall a very pleasant and carefree overnight stay for me and I would certainly stay again.

It has super beach for an enjoyable outings. On one end is the Richmond River breakwater. The beach is quite broad and with sand dunes in the nature conservation area. There was quite an interesting spot among the rock outcrop where a rectangular pool has been created for kids to immerse in. Ideal spot to watch Whales. there is many types of accommodation for people, great shopping and many different eating places for many to try
A great location, a clean and very comfortable room. Very easy check in..lovely staff. The most fantastic dinner at the hotel that was far beyond my expectation. Great location to everything. I will definitely stay there again . Thank you
Relaxed big town near the beach with good facilities and mainly good weather although very wet when we visited and recently flooded. I would be happy to stay longer and explore - this time we were just passing through.
As it was Easter w/e and public holidays at the time and I only stayed a few days for part of Byron Bay Bluesfest, I didn't get to spend much time there so didn't get to do any sightseeing or checking out the area apart from going to Bangalow one afternoon. I did find a fabulous music shop that had great coffee (Just Funkin' Music and Coffee). It was right across the road from where I stayed at the Australian Hotel - basic, but comfortable accommodation and good food in their bistro/restaurant. There did seem to be plenty of shops, bistros, restaurants local supermarkets and places of interest around the area. If only I'd had more time and more things were open... Perhaps next visit...
Ballina is a really good place to stay to access Byron Bay. It is cheaper and quieter than Byron and its only a short drive to get to Byron with lovely views of rain forest, farmland and ocean during the drive. Really dislike staying in Byron now as it is over crowded and too busy and noisy.
Quiet little town. Good little shopping centre. Ballina has a wide variety of restaurants, cafes and takeaway places to pick from to eat. Ballina is also a very good home base if you're wanting to visit areas nearby. For example the hinterland and it's many national parks. Byron Bay is not far away. We even drove up to the Gold Coast for the day.
Ballina
For a budget hotel this was very good. Spotless bright rooms and very comfortable bed. Contact with staff was minimal because of COVID and that was fine. On the phone the owner/manager was friendly and obliging. It was close to a shops and the river so we walked to buy Mexican takeaway and picnicked in the riverside park.

The apartment was spacious, clean and had lovely views of the Richmond River which meant we had wonderful sunset views. It was also only a few minutes the Ballina Lighthouse, Shelly Beach and the East Ballina lookout. The Grandview team couldn't have been more helpful and friendly.
