This was our first visit to Lorne and we were impressed from the moment we drove into town. It is bigger and more modern than we pictured, but not over-developed and certainly not crowded. The town is reminiscent of south-east Queensland, without the heat and humidity. The beach is perfect for young families: a gentle gradient and waves for all ages. There were too many eateries for our three-day stay – one of the main reasons we'll return. Ipsos Restaurant is extremely popular all day long, however, we walked in without a reservation. Captain Hooked fish and chips is well worth a repeat. The locally made Gelato is smooth and packed with flavour. Erskine Falls and Sheoak Falls provide opportunity for manageable bursts of exercise away from the beach, with a nice reward at the end, contrasting abundant tree ferns of the temperate rainforest with sea-side bracken. Short drives to Aireys Inlet and Anglesea afford further opportunities to experience the Great Ocean Road and expand the tourist options on offer with lighthouse tours, canoeing and surf lessons.

    Very pricey. Mostly friendly people.

Very pricey. Mostly friendly people. Had a miserable start to our stay our accommodation was horrible. We arrived and there was no one at reception. There was a sign up saying to ring a number which we did and it wouldn’t connect. Tried the door and it opened. There was a man inside who wasn’t much help. It was just horrible. Very unsettling. Very poor place to stay. 😞

The water views in Lorne were my favourite of all the little towns and villages along the Great Ocean Road. The scenery was beautiful. Lorne has lots of options when it comes to eating out. We had a fantastic dinner at the Lorne Hotel. I would have liked to spend a little more time in Lorne.

    Great place for a holiday.

Great place for a holiday. Lovely beaches, breathtaking views, abundance of restaurants and lots of places to visit. Only negative is the lack ov Electric vehicle charging stations. There is only one at Lorne visitors centre and that too was not functioning. Think twice before you take your EV out there.

Lorne is a gorgeous seaside village.

Lorne is a gorgeous seaside village. There are lots of cafes, restaurants, ice cream shops and a couple of pubs with great views. We stayed in Winter and it was very peaceful....until the long weekend in June arrived and so did what seemed like a million people!!!! It was bumper to bumper to get up the main street, I think Summer, esp Christmas, would be way too busy for me

Lorne is a great seaside town right in front of the beach

Lorne is a great seaside town right in front of the beach Has many dining options and takeaway options and lots of small shops The greatest asset to Lorne is it’s a year round destination Surf beach for summer Many waterfalls especially when it rains Lots of forest walking trails Hills with the road twisting and turning beside the rock walls of the cliffs along the road while the blue sea is on the other side We loved it Usually we just pass through This time we stayed for 1 night It wasn’t enough and we will be back

The location of Paris Lorne is perfect and within walking distance of the beach, shops and eateries. Being central meant that you could walk in either direction to experience a new outlook. If you wanted to drive to the lookouts, they were only a short distance too. It was great little kitchenette provided with a coffee machine to boot! Everything you need for a weekend/long weekend provided. Thank you.

We loved the location! It was right next to the Lorne Hotel, at the start of the shopping strip and very close to the beach! It was very clean and comfortable with carparking just outside!. Was beautifully presented with very clear instructions on how to get there and to get inside the unit. The host was absolutely terrific! Looking forward to staying there again soon!

Perfect for a family of four. The house was clean, comfortable and cosy and only a short walk to the centre of Lorne and the beach. We appreciated the variety of games and dvds available and the host was prompt in addressing our concern re: internet outage and was accommodating of our request for a slightly earlier check in time.

Our room overlooked the tennis courts and we had partial waterview. The hotel has direct beach access and is located on the main street of Lorne, making it walkable to shops and restaurants. The breakfast and dinner we had in the hotel restaurant were both very good!

The five star venue was of the highest quality. The hosts were generous, communicative and available. The home was very modern, well supplied, and with beautiful views. An open fire was much appreciated, and added to the joy with space to stretch out and and relax.
