Beautiful location and uninterrupted views of the Glasshouse Mountains from our room. Staff were wonderful, and it was a bonus that the price of the stay included a continental breakfast each morning, served in the restaurant. We didn't eat at the restaurant but really enjoyed having a beer out on the balcony overlooking the valley and mountains.

Boasting views of the coastline from Mt Coolum to Morton Bay Island and the Glass House Mountains, Highwood Park lodge features a tennis court and an outdoor pool. Everything! This place has taken us out of reality, it was nicely decorated, huge rooms with everything you need, the house is beautiful (indoor and outdoors) and the views amazing. David is the best host from the moment we set foot in the domain. We had dinners in different outside areas of the house, succulent breakfast in the beautiful dining room, we have enjoyed the pool and the multiple things to do in the area (so many nearby things to do). I absolutely recommend going there!

Maleny is a very popular , trendy place to breakfast and shop for day trippers. The IGA is worth a look, not what you expect. Plenty of shops to cover all tastes. Excellent pet shop with good quality collars, leads and toys.
Maleny is one of those laid back, unspoilt little townships that you should visit sooner rather than later. There are interesting little shops to wander in and out of that are not overly commercialised. No shortage of somewhere to stop for a coffee and a bite to eat. Great for finding organically grown, homemade or handcrafted goodies. Away from the town hub, there are many other places of interest to visit like the Botanic Gardens , Maleny Cheese, or Gardners Falls. Ask a local. There's something for everyone.
Maleny Botanical garden and Mary Cairncross Scenic Reserve have a great view of the Glass house Mountains, rainforest with abundant birdlife. Mary Cairn cross has a great cafe. There is a sweet shop in town with international sweets. Pomodoras on Obi is a great restaurant and the local cheese and wine is fantastic!
The countryside is beautiful. Visited every antique shop I could and generally looked in every shop. The locals are very friendly and the cafes are very nice. Loved the service and coffee at Sarah's Unplugged. Dinner at Sukhothai is amazing.
Maleny is a beautiful town in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland. Less touristy and a little more authentic than Montville, which is a short drive away. The shops and cafes here are filled with locals. The Local Co-op and IGA offer a surprisingly wide range, the bakery sells delicious pies and beesting slice and there are multiple bookstores in the main street for you to get lost in. The traffic in the main street is a bit busy though, so be prepared for a little walk to and from your car. There is a lake and golf course near by, and national parks close by. A perfect spot for a weekend getaway.
Great drives along stunning country roads with rolling green hills and amazing views of the coast, glasshouse mountains, lakes and national parks. You have the choice of amazing waterfalls, rocky cascades, walks, excellent variety of shops and cafe's.
