An extremely caring and friendly town. Crisp, mountain air. Stunning scenery. Good value for money bakery, cafes and restaurants (limited number). Lovely easy platypus board walk and rainforest walk at Mary Cairncross Reserve (short drive out of town, 15 mins )
Maleny is one of the gorgeous, mountain-top villages that travellers find hidden in the hinterland areas. There's a vibe of strong community, quaint and quirky shops and attractions with none of the big commercial operators. When you spend your tourist dollars here, you really feel that you are helping the "ordinary" locals. While it is a mountain area, the roads are all good (some steep ones). Driving the circuit around the area was great, and lunch at Kenilworth Dairy was a highlight. The walk down to the Kondalilla falls is a must, if you are reasonably able, and there are other lovely waterfalls to access more easily. Be prepared to stop everywhere and look at the interesting shops, views and houses.
Maleny has a great variety to offer, both in the township itself and in the surrounding community. There is a wide variety and range of arts, crafts, clothing and book shops in the town centre, as well numerous cafes. Mary Cairncross Park, only a few kilometres from Maleny, has an excellent visitor centre and cafe, as well as a very good graded walk through the rainforest.
We did the Obi Obi walk which we enjoyed also went to the botanical gardens. Visit the Barrel but wont do that again the food was cold when it came out. Maleny cheese factory was disappointing . Mary Cairncrossing walk is a must and eat at the cafe. Gardners Falls is also a good place to see and if you are game enough you can jump the falls and there is also a rope you can swing out on. Malney chocolate factory is a must. Montville is a must to see has so much character and so different than Maleny and only 15 k's away also the cafe at the chocolate place in Montville had good coffee and the scones are real and they use fresh cream. Every thing is so close you are not spending a day to get any where .
My husband and I recently had a holiday stay up at Maleny and we had a wonderful time! Our highlights and recommendations to go would be - Kondalilla Falls, Maleny dairies tour, Botanical gardens & bird world, maple 3 café Montville shops. We will definitely come back as soon as we can!
Lovely country township. Friendly people. Very laid back with shops to browse. Close to visit attractions.Hotel dinner was good. IGA and Woolworths for all your shopping needs. The stream winds around the town known to platypus
David and Dean were fabulous hosts and the facilities were exceptional! Every detail at this BnB is thought out, from champagne on arrival, to a warming fire to relax by at night, and a delicious breakfast in the morning. The bed was huge and comfortable and the room was very clean. The location is 10/10 for amazing views of the whole Sunshine Coast and Maleny valley and a relaxing peaceful atmosphere. We would definitely stay here again.

I loved everything , beautiful owners were so friendly and welcoming. Little touches in our 2 bedroom penthouse were so nice. And the views were amazing. I would highly recommend and definitely be back. The owners were knowledgeable about the area which was very helpful . Top points for everything. Im more of a large hotel kind of fan until I stayed here, without hesitation I would choose this place again when I'm in the region.

We loved our stay here. The property was very spacious. On beautiful property and they have thought of everything. The hamper was a lovely surprise. Very well appointed house. It felt like a family home and we wished we didn’t have to leave. Quiet and so relaxing. The wood fire was a real treat and the spa was heaven on those colder evenings.

Booking.com does not accurately represent the layout and nature of beds. According to it one room has 2 QBs. Luckily I looked on the web-site of the house itself and found that the second bed was a sofa-bed.

Cottages were situated apart in lovely gardens. Well furnished, breakfast supplies were amazing!! We will return.
Spa bath was wonderful, the view was delightful and the cows, although from a distance were adorable. The fire place was a beautiful addition that set the scene and kept us warm. The beautiful location among the trees was an amazing way to feel isolated and cosy. All in all, an amazing trip that we will so very be returning for.
