We were received by Rees. Super nice gentleman. He showed us the apartment and the grounds. Super clean. Comfy beds. Beautiful outdoor settings. Across the street from the walkway. Altogether very enjoyable. Highly recommended.

Very relaxing, beautiful scenerey, went out whale watching, even though we both took anti nausea medication my wife paid the price, after a bit of rest back to her normal self, The beaches are beautiful, very picturesque, opportunity to take lots of photos, very laid back. We drove there, so had our car for getting around, we ate at the RSL Club and Sapphire Club, beautiful meals reasonable price. lots of museums, wharfs, craft shops to get soveniers, and just to walk along the jetty. Love it.

Pleasant waterfront walking, all flat.

Pleasant waterfront walking, all flat. Numerous cafes to sit by the water. Would absolutely recommend a meal at restaurant Tidal, we had best seafood in three weeks of coast travelling. Need to book in advance.

The town of Merimbula offers comprehensive shopping.

The town of Merimbula offers comprehensive shopping. It is located central to any day trip from 30 minutes to one hour in distance. There are so many “walking” tracks and Merimbula Lake Apartments is a 15 minute flat walk into town. Parking around the shops is ample. Many dining options are on offer both in town and surrounding areas with water views, whether it is the lake or the ocean. Seafood in abundance to either buy and cook for oneself or when out dining and there’s the thrill of seeing migrating whales (whilst having lunch at the Tathra Pub!

My husband and I stayed in one of the spa cabins for our 9-year anniversary. We travelled from Canberra and chose the spa cabin because we were looking forward to relaxing in the spa. Overall, we had a wonderful weekend away and really enjoyed our stay. There are, however, a few areas that could be improved. The bed was quite firm and wasn't very comfortable for us. While lying in bed, I noticed that the ceiling fan had a significant build-up of dust, which made it clear that it hadn't been cleaned for some time. As someone who helps clean cabins for my mum, I understand how important attention to detail and cleanliness are, so this stood out to me and also having a cleaning business We also experienced problems with the Wi-Fi. It would connect to the TV occasionally, but the connection was too poor to use Netflix reliably, which was a little disappointing. Despite these issues, we still had a lovely stay and enjoyed celebrating our anniversary. With a little more attention to cleaning and improvements to the Wi-Fi, the cabin would provide an even better experience for future guests

Gorgeous beach and seaside village.

Gorgeous beach and seaside village. I’d not visited for many years - we used this as a stop over for coastal road trip to Canberra. Next time we’ll allow longer - Merimbula with its temperate climate and beautiful beaches is a perfect winter getaway from Melbourne during the school holidays.

Merimbula is a beautiful town with excellent choice of restaurants and clubs. The clubs (RSL and Sapphire) have first class menus, but there is a wide range of restaurants/eateries to choose from. The Merimbula Jazz festival, an annual event, in its 44th year during our visit, provides top-class entertainment. The boardwalk alongside the lake is a "must-do".

My rate of 5 stars takes into account this is a 3 stars hotel, so we must evaluate the hotel aligned with the expectations. The staff was very friendly and helpful, namely with excellent suggestions for the places to visit in the region. The rooms was ok for a short stay, no luxury but comfortable, quiet and clean. The location was very good because it was 5 minutes walk from the village center. So it can be considered a good option.

We made a last-minute booking on our way down the east coast and we were very satisfied with the prompt and friendly communication with Ivana, her valuable recommendations, the ample parking space and the comfy mattress! Ivana was a generous and mindful host, and made sure we had everything we needed! Highlight: Woke up to the singing cockatoos and the most magical view overlooking Merimbula's wilderness

I have been travelling to Merimbula for over 50 years. I loved staying at Hillcrest; my first time. The views are spectacular, the staff are charming & hospitable. The beds are so comfortable you feel like asking where they got them. The general aesthetic & vibe is welcoming & so Comfortable. Do yourself a favour & stay here..
