We were on a long road trip returning from FNQ to NSW Central Tablelands. We were tired by the time we got there, mid to late afternoon so didn't explore at all. Driving through, the town, seemed to be a busy sizeable farming community. I'd booked into the Club Hotel Motel because it had everything we needed and was reasonably priced.. I forgot that hotels often have live entertainment on a Saturday night. It finished at 10:00.
Great history at the local information centre and also a good place for guides to around the Roma and Surat basin, commonwealth pub had a great selection of food and recommended this place for the hospitality.
I liked the friendly people and the ease of finding my way around the town. The motel that I stayed in had brochures in the reception area and they were useful. We had a takeaway meal at an Indian restaurant in the main street and it was delicious. We visited the largest bottle tree in town as well as the Court House. The town has excellent supermarkets, hotels and restaurants. The Big Rig show was interesting and the tour guide was knowledgeable..
Most interesting is the Cattle Saleyard. For a city person come over to the reginal country, that was the best thing you go! I classed it better than the Melbourn Cup which they drop in the same day on the 2nd November 2021.
Roma has a lot to offer. It's good to be there Tuesday as cattle auctions are on at sale yards. We went back to Roma and spent a couple more nights at same motel. Little historic church also has information on Tuesday mornings. We are morning teas at Bakearoma and ate at BC's Thai restaurant at Bungil creek motel. Nice food both places. We could have spent another day or so in Roma.
We were there overnight having arrived around 1:30pm. We had enough time to visit the attractions we wanted see (did not go to the Big Rig). A visit to Ace Drapers is an experience, what this shop hasn't got you don't need! The bottle trees dotted around the town are lovely and the biggest one is impressive. The Roma Bush Gardens when complete will be a nice addition to the town.
Reception was really helpful and friendly, particularly with suggestions for dinner. The room was self contained with all the necessary microwave, fridge, etc which was great. Really good location. Only stayed one night but would be happy to stay again if we were in Roma.
Lovely Outback Hotel in Roma, with charming charisma and character. The staff were absolutely lovely and made going to a small town a truely enjoyable experience. Go there is you want authenticity.
Overall was a great motel and one of the best country motels I have stayed at over the years. The room was large and comfortable and the bathroom was also big. Very clean and well maintained too.
Central to everything in town, walking distance. Thankyou Roma and Big Rig for our first night stay to our 3 week hoilday. The shower was very hot and refreshing after along drive.
It is standard family cabin for staying at one-two nights travelling to the central part of Australia. The room was clean, all facilities were provided. Very easy to find it.
The rooms were very clean, recently refurbished and very comfortable. Communication with staff was great. Location was central but the motel was very quiet.
The cleanliness, and the rooms are very spacious. This was our first trip to Roma staff were very welcoming.

Great location, close to food shops, restaurants and bars. We had a long day travelling so ate in the route 66 restaurant which was really good. Loved the complimentary water or softdrink when we checked in.
