United StatesAs I had previously stayed here, I knew what to expect, and was happy with my choice.
The house was clean and well-appointed, with two bedrooms, a good A/C system, and all of the appliances one would want for an extended stay... my stay was only overnight.
The kitchen was stocked with the necessaries to prepare a continental breakfast, a bit more like an "AirBnB" type property than a traditional B&B, where a full breakfast is the norm. However, the loaf of bread, juice, the coffee and tea fixings, a couple of choices of jam and a fresh bottle of full cream milk and large new container of butter were exactly what I was hoping for (along with the Vegemite!).

Great location.
Great location. Wonderful dining options in the heart of town and many many more within 15min drive. My favourite grape-growing and wine making region. Wineries are amazing with great staff and some you actually get to chat to the winemaker YAY. Beautiful scenery, easy to navigate and not too far to drive to for a weekend from Melbourne or Canberra. But go for longer. It will cost you though as the wine and food options are first rate 😂 The region also has fabulous events throughout the year. GO!!

Highly recommend Pickers Cafe for breakfast (zucchini and corn fritter stacks with avocado is my choice).
Tulleries at De Bortelli is my favourite - my 3rd time back there in 18 months (and we live 1.5 hours away).
Grace is also a great place to lunch. The township has a lovely vibe. Where we stayed was an easy walk to the main street.
The park with the war memorial is worth a look. Easy access to public toilets.
The IGA liqour has a great range of local wines. Cafe Mechanica has a great motorcycle museum and cafe

We stayed en route between Sydney and Ballarat for one night...
We stayed en route between Sydney and Ballarat for one night. It looks a very pretty town with a fab gastronomy pub The Vic and cellar doors nearby which we didn’t have the chance to visit. It was a good place to stop with our dog as our accommodation, Must Love Dogs and our dinner location in the beer garden of the vic were both super dog friendly.

Rutherglen is an interesting small town in the north east of Victoria and vineyard country. Many old and well maintained houses and commercial buildings. A pleasant main street with interesting shops and good coffee. A walking scale town and a great stop-over between Canberra and Melbourne, especially if you are not in a hurry and like to drive off the main roads.

MUSCAT, SHIRAZ & DURIF. WHERE THERE IS WINE THERE IS GREAT FOOD. JONES WINERY HAS EXCELLENT FOOD AND WINE. ANDERSONS HAVE GREAT WINES INCLUDING SPARKLING.

Rutherglen is a small country town surrounded by many wineries. There are three hotels which offer food and drink, plus a couple of restaurants & cafes. The folk are friendly and provide that good old country hospitality.

I loved my stay at Motel Woongarra.
The room was so beautiful & very clean.
I found the double bed a bit hard for me personally but I slept very well. So peaceful The staff were extremely friendly, very polite & so helpful.
I loved that it was within walking distance from the Main Street & the De Bortoli winery.
I was very happy I chose this place to stay in Rutherglen 😊 thank you.

Beautiful cottage, very well positioned, closer to the town centre and also closed to a park where we could take our dog for a walk..very spacious, clean, well appointed. Relaxing spa and backyard. We loved our time at the Foundry Cottage and are looking forward to staying again when visiting Rutherglen.

Spacious and stylish room. Great to have a sitting area that was separate to the bedroom. The bathroom was gloriously large, which is a rare thing. Finally, I took up the recommendation to attend a Pilates class next door to the hotel - lots of fun and I was made to feel very welcome.
