The cottage had a lovely atmosphere in it and the decor was well thought out. The garden was pretty and I enjoyed being so close to the cafe/restaurant next door.

Set in the World Heritage-listed Lamington National Park, O'Reilly's offers accommodations overlooking the rainforest and mountains. I loved everything: the room, the surroundings, the food, the people and the birds, but the real unforgettable part has been the morning bird walk with Glen Trelfo, an authentic bird whisperer. It's amazing how much he knows about birds, and such a great sense of humour!
The Mouses House offers a choice of 12 chalets nestled within peaceful rainforest, only 30 minutes’ drive from the Gold Coast. There was just a mix up with breakfast, we asked for vegetarian and received a meat platter but this was quickly corrected by the staff. Privacy excellent.
Loved the village atmosphere, the laneway and market like area with shops ( displaced after a fire), but great community feel. Good location to do day trips to other locations such as Cabarita Beach, Murwullumbah and Mt Warning.

Great little place tucked away from the busy life of the city. Would love to be part of the community as that's living. Simple, beautiful, tranquil, living the dream. So close to everything but feels like your along way away.
Physically beautiful village nestled in the heart of the scenic rim caldera supported by a true community of caring people with a strong artistic identity. Flutterbies a truly unique amalgamation of turn of the century cottages and laneway serves as the local hub/restaurant/coffee house/weekend market. The local 'Hearts Aflame' theatre group also use it to stage some of their amazing and various works there.
If you are after a quiet little getaway in a friendly country town, then this is it. All the locals that we talked to and dealt with were lovely. As it was Easter weekend it was virtually deserted on the Friday which was good for us as we just wandered around to get our bearings. Having been told that we might be able to see a platypus or two in the nearby creek we set off, only a block away from where we were staying, at dusk to wait patiently and were rewarded with a delightful display by one little fella as he dived and floated around the creek. As we had been down to Tyalgum just a couple of weeks before check what would be available being the Easter weekend we were prepared with our own food for the Friday which did catch some other visitors out. We did well to catch the local Saturday markets too which were quite good, lots of local produce, plants and crafts. Also were able to go to one of the closest national parks for a bush walk to build up our appetite for dinner at the local Tyalgum Hotel. What a lovely meal that was indeed! Even finished the night off dancing to the jukebox courtesy of the publican. Sunday brunch is a must at Flutterbies, great atmosphere, service and the food.... brilliant! All in all a wonderful memory for our 39th wedding anniversary :)
