Alta Vista Amazon Lodge sits on a beautiful property. The view of the river is spectacular and birds and monkeys are abundant. The meals we had were wonderful with great variety.

The property is located in the heart of the Amazon where you can truly have the Amazon experience. the staff were very nice. Rebecca was excellent in making the transfer pick up roundtrip. Thales was an excellent tour guide. He made us feel comfortable. He showed individual interest to the guests. Since i was the only non Brazilian and did not fully understood the local language, I appreciated very much that he would translate the tour from Portuguese to English. Thales was very knowledgeable of the surroundings and showed passion speaking about it. I mingled with the other guests and they were very nice. They seemed very happy to be having the Amazon experience. Others wanted to stay longer and extended their stay. We swam with the pink dolphins and tried fishing on the first day. Second day, we hiked and got to know nature at its own beauty. We learned about certain trees that are used for medicine. In the afternoon, we visited an indigenous tribe where we learned about their local custom and culture. Everyone was having fun interacting and playing. We did a night tour where a baby alligator was caught for picture taking and later was released. To finish the evening, a program consisting of local dance was performed. We were later invited to join the dance. Although it was raining, everyone had a good time!!!
