San Gil is very turistic and influenced by that.
San Gil is very turistic and influenced by that. Excellent opportunities for recreation and extreme sports, but the horrid traffic can impact travel. The main route from Bogota' to Bucaramanga goes right through it and can really congest the streets. These are old "horse" cart roads in town and the traffic can be "impressive" and difficult to manage. San Gil as a town is not particularly interesting.
San Gil as a town is not particularly interesting. It's for the adventure activities that one comes. Felipe and Jane are amazing hosts, kind, funny and sociable. Felt like family, with plenty of room to socialise. The private room was huge, with a big bathroom and warm shower. Kitchen was well equipped but after tasting the home cooked meals you might not use it! Located out of town with sunset views over San Gil. Great for hiking.
