Villa Alta Bed&Breakfast is located in Barramar, 20 minutes’ drive from Puntarenas Beach. Free Wi-Fi access is available, as well as complimentary breakfast offered with the rate. It was a real homely stay. Leda was so welcoming and advised on where to eat. The breakfast was lovely, fresh fruit from the garden and traditional gallo pinto.
Casa Victoria offers accommodations in Puntarenas, 5 mi from Lito Perez Stadium. Casa Victoria was a beautiful and delightful place to stay. Vicki and Mario were so warm and friendly. We felt like they were long-time friends. They were very accommodating and friendly but not overbearing. The property was immaculate and nicely decorated. When I lost my glasses at the beach, Mario took me to a store where I could purchase reading glasses. Without them, I would have had trouble reading anything! The property was a little hard to find but only because we weren't looking closely. We loved the place and the hosts and can highly recommend staying with them. The next time we get to Puntarenas, we will definitely stay at Casa Victoria!
Set in Puntarenas, Villa Guarias offers accommodations with free WiFi, air conditioning, a restaurant and access to a garden with an outdoor pool. We spent a great family week there. The villa was very clean and cosy and all we needed was provided. You can rest in the private garden, drink a coffee on a terrace with a beautiful view or relax in jacuzzi. A great spot to visit sorrounding areas and beaches. Also next door seafood reastaurant with a pool is a superb spot after wholeday trip.
Located in Mata de Limón, 1640 feet from Caldera Beach, Hotel y Restaurante Costa del Sol features accommodations with a restaurant, free private parking, a bar and a terrace. Excellent place to spend the night, beautiful view of the ocean / river inlet / mangroves directly from the rooms on the 2nd floor. They upgraded us to the suite since there weren't many people staying. Great seafood restaurant below! Nice staff!
Located right on the Pacific Ocean in Puntarenas, this hotel offers an outdoor swimming pool, plus a sailing club and sports facilities. Puerto Azul Resort y Club Nautico also features free breakfast.... The room was amazing. The staff were very helpful.
I enjoyed the nightly shows the most and breakfast and lunch was our favorite. Didn’t like that there wasn’t a swim up bar from the pool. Also didn’t like that the resort didn’t shuttle to and from the airport and it’s a long drive from the airport. We had to rent a car. The activities should’ve also included English it was all done in Spanish .
Horrible infested rooms , rooms aren't accurately advertised. Don't waste your money. Totally inaccurate description of rooms. They try to force you to wait before checking time for a presentation.
In Sept the water was very murky and a lot of debris washed up on the beaches, it was rainy season though which pushes the debris to the shore (it only rained at night). Other areas in Costa Rica (La Fortuna and Monteverde) have great tourist activities at fair prices. All of the activities in El Roble were very expensive- transportation alone was often $180 and would take you to other cities anyway. Best to visit a town that has all the activities right there, I would highly recommend La Fortuna
El Roble is a small village and its main attraction is the Hilton Double Tree Resort. It is central for tours to some of the major attractions such as Monteverde, Paos Volcano, Tortuga Island. Book through Arenas Travel - they are superb
My room was supposed to be ready at 3 pm but it was not. I had to wait for it and they said we could check out one hour later but the room key got locked at the regular time. The food sometimes was cold and it definitely used to be better.
