We needed to stay one night in a hotel not too far from the Liberia airport. This hotel had everything we needed; from a really nice staff, very helpful with our requests for our baby, to clean and comfortable rooms, and an amazing breakfast, it was perfect for the price.

The family and staff. Everyone was so helpful and so warm. I love the mom of the hotel, and Emanuel was really really helpful. Breakfast included was delicious. Room is big and airy. Nice AC, which is very important in Costa Rica lol

We had a great stay at Hotel Liberia in the heart of Liberia just half a block from the plaza. The room was simple, clean and comfortable with air conditioning, and we loved the lush, quiet courtyard complete with lizards and geckos. Edwin and his family are lovely, and a wonderful source of tips and information about sites to visit and yummy places to eat. They supported us to plan outings to the Rincón de la Vieja (which is not to be missed!), the beach at Coco, and the local festive market with live music. Edwin was extremely helpful in organizing transport including a super driver to the Rincón. We really enjoyed the relaxed and friendly atmosphere at Hotel Liberia and talking with Edwin and his family. And the breakfasts were a great bonus too!

The staff and Luis were very kind and accommodating. The hotel was well kept and our room was very clean. Located in downtown but was still very quiet. Secured fenced and gated property so our rental car was safe. 3 choices of breakfast and loved the fresh cas juice!

This lodge was my favorite stay during the entire trip I was in Costa Rica. I love the rooms with the hammocks on the balcony. The food was good for the price and the staff were excellent. I also loved our excursion with the horses. I highly recommend this to anyone.

    DONT go to Tamarindo - was there 5 years ago and now it’s called Tamagringo - everything was expensive and VERY touristy. We got ripped off a lot .. Still some nice unspoiled parts of Liberia if you stay off the beaten track .

    Costa Rica is wonderful and the central park in Liberia was a really nice place to stop and have lunch. The park has a statue commemorating the actions of Juan Santamaria, Costa Rica's national hero. It is a great story detailing human courage and how important one man can be in the greater scheme of things.

    It´s a well developed city at the heart of Guanacaste.

    It´s a well developed city at the heart of Guanacaste. You can find all the main businesses and stores in the country. It´s also conveniently located near the main tourist attractions like Rincon de la Vieja national park, La Leona waterfall hike, Santa Rosa National Park and the Papagayo peninsula beaches among others.

    I used Liberia as a transfer point to get into southern Nicaragua. It was a far better option for me than flying into Managua. Liberia was great for that reason. I did not explore beyond the Liberia hotel location. I thought that my hotel was pricey for what I got-- $80 for a 3 star average hotel. HOWEVER, the hotels out by the airport are as expensive ($150-170 U.S.) as a San Francisco airport hotel. There is a shuttle charge of about $30 to get from Liberia to hotel (about 9 miles). Take a Uber for $11 U.S. and they drop you a few hundred yards from airport. I know that people need to make money, but I have a budget too--Uber was the way to go. I hear that Uber is not legal, but it worked for me.

    Beautiful country and lovely outdoors especially if you are into wildlife and water sports. it rained most of my stay, which was a negative for me but overall - the very friendly people made it all worthwhile!

    We hiked to all of the waterfalls and visited the hot springs and mud baths. There were many other more adventurous activities available too. Was a beautiful few days away from the beach and very conveniently locate less than an hour from Liberia Airport. We ate at all of the restaurants. The service and food was very good. Excellent choices for vegetarians and some vegan options too.

    In our opinion - from what we saw in Liberia while our 2-day stay - it is the best choice for a good and not too expensive hotel in Liberia. We enjoyed our stay and the staff was really, really nices and helpful! The breakfast was great, the rooms and the garden was good. The short distance from Liberia International Airport, 15 min by car, was perfect for us.

    This is a good basic motel/hotel in downtown Liberia, Costa Rica. I'm not sure how safe I felt in the neighbourhood generally and it is not the posh part of town but the security gates were solid, it was spotlessly clean, the beds comfortable and a good price. As a stopover pre-flights it was fine. Circa 1/2hour drive to Liberia airport

    Location is very convenient if you stay here for a first/last night after/before your flight from Liberia Airport (which was my case). The staff is super friendly and the pool area is well taken care of. Breakfast is ok. Good for one night stay.
